It sounds like you kinda like this guy. 

I'd wear an outfit that made me look the slimmest  and spend extra time on my hair and makeup.  

He suggested the two of you still go out, so heck--go for it!

@Sage04 I've known him several years.i think he knows how I feel.matter of fact when I in a round about way tried telling him this,it all went south.so,to me he runs hot and cold.you know what?to heck with feelings and loveee dovee ******.im thankful I am here on this earth and wonderful along with wonderful parents and daughter and grandkids

@Luvsmyfam  maybe he just want to be friends. That's ok and I think you are too hung up on him to notice that someone else is interested in you.

Well, I guess if you have feelings for him and he knows this, he must still like you as a friend.

If you think you could enjoy yourself going out to dinner on your birthday with him--go for it.

He knows how you feel.  And I guess he knows that you're not going to be easy--because maybe-- that's all he wants?

So consider it a birthday dinner/date.  Enjoy yourself.  He may see something more from you tomorrow night and will ask you out again and again.....
