@manny2 how do I put this?no!not friends with bennies

Maybe the two of you could still go out to dinner, have a drink or two at your place or his, if you've known him well enough.

I'd establish boundries if it was someone I wanted to be friends with and in that case, he could treat me on my birthday and I would reciprocate on his or some other time.  But I would get that out there ahead of time.  So there's no guessing on his part.

I've never been on a blind date and wouldn't go out with someone who I had absolutely no desire to date.  I can tell from the get go.  Can't even explain that, but that's the way it is with me....

Honestly, I would think the visiting your parents is a more intimate thing then going out. I mean when I brought a male "friend" home it was someone who I had feelings for and was ready to introduce him...but then again I was 18. 😝

Good Luck on your date...if you want it to be one. 🤫 I might ask him his thought on this.

@Luvsmyfam  go out and enjoy yourself. Of course it's a date, but a date with a friend. It's great that he still wants to take you out.

We'll be waiting for "details".

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

@KBEANS  in @Luvsmyfam  Post she said her parents were planing to go with them but now it would be just the two them.

It seems as if he is more of a family friend.

It sounds like you kinda like this guy.

I'd wear an outfit that made me look the slimmest Woman Wink and spend extra time on my hair and makeup.

He suggested the two of you still go out, so heck--go for it!

ETA:  Don't whine or complain or say anything negative about yourself in conversation!  I saved that till after we were married....lollololWoman LOL

@Luvsmyfam I went to a non-date with a friend about 40 years ago.  We're still married!  Woman Very Happy

We had been friends a long time--so you never know.  But in your situation, think of some funny things for topics.   Laugh and don't worry about eating--we all eat and we all drop things occasionally so be able to laugh should the lettuce fly off on it's own!  :womanvery-happy

And have answers ready that you are comfortable with should the subject of "is this a date" come up--do you want it to be?
