tomorrow is my birthday.plans were to celebrate with my loving parents and a man friend.now things have changed due to my mother feeling under the weather.i passed this info along to my friend.he then said ok,you and I can go out.is this considered a date?I haven't been on one for so many years,not even sure how to act!little nervous about this q friends.any suggestions?

I would consider it a date.  Not sure what that means to you.  To me, it would be going out and being treated to a nice dinner for my birthday.  Perhaps you could go back to your place and have dessert?  That would be a date to me.  It's been well over 4 decades since I dated anyone other than my husband.....

It depends on what you mean by friend. What is your relationship with him? Is he simply a friend that happens to be male? Is it a friends with benefits undefined? We need a little more information.

@Luvsmyfam lol I'm just trying to get the full picture. No judgement here. I don't know if I would consider it a date, or just an evening out with a friend. Either way have a Happy Birthday!

I personally would just consider it a birthday celebration with a male friend.

To me there is a difference between a friend and a 'friend you are interested in'...If this is just a friend, that's all it is, dinner out with a friend.
