Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Hello my friends!  Beautiful day here in MN and I'm sure where you all live too!  Summer has arrived!  Been doing  enough cooking that I don't think I have to for the rest of the week.  Left-overs work too, and Thursday night is another birthday party with is brothers and sisters at a restaurant, which he'll be careful what he orders, maybe a chef's salad, he thought. Today I made a beef roast.  We don't eat much beef, very seldom, but once in a while won't hurt.  Breakfast was steel cut oats, more for tomorrow morning too, I dress it up very good with walnuts, chi seed, honey, a fruit, this time a banana etc. I make this very healthy, even put ground flax seed in it for more omega 3.  So it's delicious and I make it in varying ways.  For a positive thread, all this is on the positive side!

God bless you, one and all!!

If you would be ashamed to sign your name to your conversation, don't say it.
Lord, my words can have far reaching effects.  May the effect always be good.

"No slave can serve two masters; for a slave will either hate the one
and love the other, or be devoted to the one and despise the other. You
cannot serve God and wealth."  ~Luke 16:13

Sometimes we'd like the full and complete satisfaction that we can find
in serving God and all the satisfactions of the world as well.  It is
not easy to serve both God and the world.  It is difficult to claim the
rewards of both.  If we work for God, we can still have great rewards in
the world.  We can also be prepared to sometimes stand apart from the
world.  If we turn to the world for all the rewards which life has to
offer we can be disappointed.  If we try sincerely to serve God, we can
have other and greater rewards than the world has to offer.

I pray that I may not expect too much from the world.  I pray that I may
be content with the rewards that come from serving God.

Permanent Address

A young woman completing a job application came to the line asking
for her "Permanent address." She began to list her street and house
number but paused for a moment. Then, with a small smile she wrote,
"HEAVEN."

She understood that Heaven is a real place... and the ultimate home
of God's children.

No place on earth is truly home for those who belong to God's family.
The Bible says that we are travelers... just passing through. Heaven
is the ultimate, eternal destination for those who love God. In fact,
their time on earth is like one small dot on a continuous,
never-ending line.

Is God the landlord of your permanent home? If not, then the time is
Right to start investing in the future. Ask God to wash you clean and
forgive your trespasses and sins so that you will be suitably clothed
for Heaven's splendor. Ask Him to make you His child through the sacrifice
of His Son. Ask Him to reserve a place for you, so that you can be
with Him forever.

Heaven is the best home of all because God lives there. It is filled
with hope and joy and peace and love, and it's forever. Start planning
for your future today!

June 21 - Jesus Calling

Wait patiently with Me while I bless you. Don’t rush into My Presence with time-consciousness gnawing at your mind. I dwell in timelessness: I am, I was, I will always be. For you, time is a protection; you’re a frail creature who can handle only twenty-four-hour segments of life. Time can also be a tyrant, ticking away relentlessly in your mind. Learn to master time, or it will be your master.

Though you are a time-bound creature, seek to meet Me in timelessness. As you focus on My Presence, the demands of time and tasks will diminish. I will bless you and keep you, making My Face shine upon you graciously, giving you Peace.

But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.
—Micah 7:7

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
—Revelation 1:8

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
—Numbers 6:24–26

Mother Teresa Said...

"The Eucharist is connected with the Passion. If Jesus had not established the Eucharist we would have forgotten the crucifixion. It would have faded into the past and we would have forgotten that Jesus loved us. There is a saying that to be far away from the eyes is to be far away from the heart.

An Act of Confidence in God
by St. Claude de la Columbière, S.J.

My God, I am so convinced that You keep watch over those who hope in You, and that we can want for nothing when we look for all from You, that I am resolved in the future to live free from every care, and to turn all my anxieties over to You. "In peace, in the selfsame, I will sleep and I will rest; for Thou, O Lord, singularly hast settled me in hope" (Ps. iv, 9-10).
Men may deprive me of possessions and of honor; sickness may strip me of strength and the means of serving You; I may even lose Your grace by sin; but I shall never lose my hope. I shall keep it till the last moment of my life; and at that moment all the demons in Hell shall strive to tear it from me in vain. "In peace, in the selfsame, I will sleep and I will rest."
Others may look for happiness from their wealth or their talents: others may rest on the innocence of their life, or the severity of their penance, or the amount of their alms, or the fervor of their prayers. "Thou, O Lord, singularly hast settled me in hope." As for me, Lord, all my confidence is my confidence itself. This confidence has never deceived anyone. No one, no one has hoped in the Lord and has been confounded.
I am sure, therefore, that I shall be eternally happy, since I firmly hope to be, and because it is from You, O God, that I hope for it. "In Thee, O Lord, have I hoped; let me never be confounded" (Ps. xxx, 1). I know, alas! I know only too well, that I am weak and unstable. I know what temptation can do against the strongest virtue. I have seen the stars of heaven fall, and the pillars of the firmament; but that cannot frighten me. So long as I continue to hope, I shall be sheltered from all misfortune; and I am sure of hoping always since I hope also for this unwavering hopefulness.
Finally, I am sure that I cannot hope too much in You, and that I cannot receive less than I have hoped for from You. So I hope that You will hold me safe on the steepest slopes, that You will sustain me against the most furious assaults, and that You will make my weakness triumph over my most fearful enemies. I hope that You will love me always and that I too shall love You without ceasing. To carry my hope once for all as far as it can go, I hope from You to possess You. O my Creator, in time and in eternity. Amen.

GloriaJean - thanks for the wonderful words again today.  Your food ideas are making me hungry and I just had dinner - ha.

Oatmeal is my breakfast about 350 days a year.  I will definitely try some of your goodies - yum!! I do add flax seed and wheat germ to my oatmeal with fruit also.

Ladies - enjoy your evening, blessings.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Hi! Gloriajean, your healthy eating is inspiring and more of what I need to do.  Well, just returned from seeing my family.  The drive was fine and seeing my parents, brother, sister and niece was great. Met my niece's boyfriend and he is a nice young man.  I made the trip and my anxiety got me a little last night but I pushed through and just  happy that I went.  God pulled me through it all and in the process, through my struggles really got me to look at myself and how I react to things and my need for control. The past week has been a big wake up call. Life is not a dress rehearsal!  If I do not live now, then when?!  Not sure what to do with all these feelings but trying to sort through.

For now, tired, glad to be back and best of all, my kitties did great. No vomit or general upset and my friend who stayed here is my angel.  God is good, and so many blessings!

Thank you again for your support and I hope you all have a day filled with blessings and much joy and peace!

Nancy

Harlene, I don't really call this way of eating a diet, just a real foods way of eating!  No artificial anything.  It works!

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

gcubed - how did you get your nic?  I'm just curious.  I only used my first and middle name, didn't know enough to think up a nic years ago when I started here.  Oatmeal is good for you even every morning!  I do make a variety though for breakfasts.  There's so many good breakfasts to eat that are healthy and real foods!  I'm into real foods, bought books on them, love cooking that way, and Dr. Weil is my friend!!! I get his wonderful ideas every morning.  Maybe I should post some of his stuff here, it's all positive! Adding wheat germ to cereals is a good idea.  Hadn't thought of it, just ground flax seed, chia seeds, and walnuts for omega 3.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Wednesday

Nancy, we all need to eat real foods and  that's the way to go, not any artifical anything.  I go real, that means whole fat yogurts, and cheeses, no low fats, all are good and healthy.  Whey you buy the low fats or no fats, you get added sugar.  So glad you made the trip and God granted you safety all the way and you enjoyed visiting with family.  Wonderful!!  And the kitties were fine!!! No worries.

Have a good night with God's blessings, everyone!
