This is a true story. My first job I worked in an office where I had to walk by other employees' open cubicles to get to mine. I was usually the second one in the office; the first one there was another employee who liked to use those early morning moments to take off his shoes and socks, put his foot on his desk, and clip his toenails. Anyone want to eat home baked goods from him?
Funny, that's exactly why people don't eat homemade food...lol Can you imagine what that guy did in the privacy of his own home? I suspect that was many, many years ago. No one would tolerate that in any office today. When I first started working, about 36 years ago; there was a girl who had some type of gastrointestinal issue. Every now and then, she would get sick and have to vomit. She would do it right in her trash can. She'd pull it out, vomit and then put it back in her desk continue working like nothing ever happened. Gross is not the world for it. A couple of us complained and our supervisor who was about 80, lectured us on how we should have compassion for someone was ill. The girl's gross behavior and the stinky trash can in the office didn't bother her, of course, she had a private office. The problem was solved when one of the older guys in the office started putting the digsgusting trash can in front of our supervisor's office door so that when she left for the evening, it was right there when she opened her office door. If she wasn't careful, she trip over it. After he did that a couple of times, the vomiter began running to the ladie's room when she felt sick.

I worked for a health insurance company that would fire you if you called off sick. Many employees got sick and vomited in their trash cans.
One girl who had breast cancer would bleed onto her upholstered chair. Maintenance would clean it up several times a week. They poor lady very seldom took off from work.
Our receptionist used to clip her nails at her desk. The clip, clip, clip sound used to drive me crazy.
I worked in a building with over 2000 employees and have seen it all.

@chrystaltree Yes, this was the early 70s. You definitely had it much worse that smell. That would have had me running to the ladies room too.

I would forget about it, you could get yourself in trouble with HR if you complain about something like that. We had an employee where I worked years ago who had very offensive body odor and worked closely with the public. I asked a supervisor if she couldn't mention this to the employee and she said "no, she wouldn't touch that issue with a 10 foot poll, it was up to the clients to complain."

Choices are limited if you can't have papertowels. Maybe the coworker heard of the air dryers being unsanitary. Not much you can do unless you report it to HR.

I hate those dryers and most often find some other way to dry my hands too. I don't blame her for avoiding them and am not sure I'd be all that concerned whether anyone likes it or not... Not to be argumentative, but just sayin'...

This story hits home. Where I used to work the paper towel thing was to high and it was hard for me to reach since I am disabled. I would just go back to my desk and grab a towel to dry them. I never had to pass anyone. My desk was right outside the bathroom. One of the girls actually went to the supervisor about this. Then my supervisor came to me asking if I had a issue. I never once complained I just did what I had to do when washing my hands. I think she was afraid I was going to ssue them lol.
All my coworker had to do was sit some paper towels out on the sink. There was no reason to go to my boss. She could of even came to me in private. I hated that place. The entire work environment was toxic. Which is sad because I liked what I did.

My office building just started renovations and all the bathrooms have Dyson air dryers installed. No one likes them, so they started taking paper towel rolls from the kitchens. They take too long to work and there is a huge puddle of water under it as your hands drip on the floor while they are drying.
Last week the landlord installed paper towel dispensers.

I do! All the time!!!
