Remember how we put a big X of tape on our cheeks at night and had to the goo off in the morning?

That was one look I skipped - I spent all my time trying to straighten my hair!

hahahahahahahaaaaaaaalarious!

@SeaMaiden  -

I never wore perms in my curly hair - which if I'm going someplace nice, I bother to dry it straight and smooth, that said my NJ High School Year books circa the late 70's to early 80s had hundreds of pages of pic just like this.

It was truly HERDMENTALITY, and back then I blew my hair out just to look different!

Is it wrong that I still like that hair?  Cat Very Happy

Every girl in my 1968 senior yearbook had long, straight hair parted in the middle.  To get mine that straight, I used to brush it all forward onto the ironing board and press away.

My mother went crazy every time she saw me, but it got my curly hair pin straight.

Years later, that big curly shag hair was all the rage.

Oh, I had my first shot on 2-22.  The second one scheduled for 3-22.

A real work of art, bow and all!

We called this a "bubble."

She's a cute girl, by the way.

I have always had thin, straight hair, but I do remember Aqua Net and Dippity-Do.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

@Witchy Woman @I used to iron my hair too. It was already straight but I wanted it even straighter.

@Witchy Woman I had frizzy, curly hair. Used the iron and what we called beer can rollers but just any big can. Brother gave me money to buy a hair straightener kit and it had a smell that was bad like hair color.

Oh, yes...I used "straighteners" for years!

My favorite was a product called "Straightaway" and I think it was by Revlon?  I could be mistaken as that was a LONG time ago.  But, it was a thick cream, applied all over, combed through, let it set, then rinse out.

Smelled like a perm, but...it did the trick.  Amazing I still have hair at all Cat LOL
