All through our trials we do notice many blessings, don't we?  When my daughter lived in Texas for 6 years and we didn't see her more than 2 times a year, she got a job in our town a couple years ago, and she and her husband presented us with identical twin grand-daughters, which we go there to help take care of them ever since they were 2 weeks old.  What a blessing she got this job and what a blessing the twins were born here and we get to help babysit them about 3 or 4 days a week watching them grow!

My daughter is diagnosed for having EDS and faces the possibllity of having to go on disability. She has severe back pains and is now going to a specialist. The blessings are many, she lives only 18 min. away, and we are here to help her. Her husband goes on business trips, but another blessing is that he can work from home so has his office in the basement. My younger daughter, the Massage Therapist, is going back to school to be a Registered Nurse. Although the school is very hard for her, she will make it - another blessing and she's not far from where we live. What are your blessings? I hope you won't mind sharing.  And let's always think positive!

Isn't it amazing how life works out for the best?

I've always said I've lived on borrowed time for the past 60 years, somehow for a reason, so I do count my blessings often.

Prayers up for your sweet family.

Thank you, software, very much for your prayers - much appreciated! Happy for your blessings too!  A friend of mine has been 4th stage cancer for years and was told last visit for chemo that she should be dead already, but is living on borrowed time too. She is crafty and is so busy making things to sell etc. says she has to keep busy!!

I have recently been blessed by prayers from this community ,as well as Gloriajean ,and her nuns. My husband went through a series of mishaps, and I am sure the prayers, and good wishes ,of everyone here, and others, brought him safely through, a very dark time

Thanks  to everyone ,for their kindness ,and their concern. It still touches me very deeply

whatnow - Your son is a great blessing to you! Thanks for sharing. Our children will always be our blessings..

Prayers do work, and thanks be to God Cherry's husband came through his ordeal!  The nuns that Cherry is referring to is that I have a prayer line in which I have lots praying for our intentions plus 3 Monasteries of Poor Clare Nuns praying for them too.  One Monastery is in Boston, another in Memphis, Tenn. and aother in Wales across the pond they say.  Also a Franciscan Monastery. That's what she means.  I just wanted to explain that.

@gloriajean Thank you for explaining @cherry nuns comment. When I hear nuns my ears perk up. My education was from the Sisters of St Joseph and I know first hand what “prayer warriors” they are. I too believe in the power of prayer. I have received many blessings because of prayers answered.

Sometimes the strength within you is not a big fiery flame for all to see. It is just a tiny spark that whispers ever so softly "You Got This - Keep Going"

SandPiper - we had Beneditine nuns 12 years where I live.  My sister joined the Franciscans.  Now that you know about this prayer line, everyone, if there is anyone you want prayers for, let me know, and this includes the moderators too.  I usually just go by the first name and the reason for prayers.  Wishing you all happiness and peace.

Thank you @gloriajean for starting such a beautiful thread.

I can't help singing Count Your Blessings right now. An old hymn many of you probably know.

'When upon lifes billows you are tempest tossed.  When you are discouraged thinking all is lost.  Count your many blessings, Name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord hath done!'

2017 was a very difficult year for us as well,  filled with trials and storms.  2018 has not begun too well either.  Through it all, faith and hope abide!

Thank you for reminding us to keep our eyes above!

Lately, I've realized how blessed I am that I can take my parents to their doctor appointments in another town. Its a little over an hour drive, my dad always sleeps some on the way and on the way back. Momma mainly on the way back. They say they could drive themselves, and they probably could, but I like to drive them. There have been many trips in the last few months.

I'm thankful for the doctors and how my dads heart and lung doctors really seem to care so much about my daddy's well being.

I'm thankful for my two precious children and that God sent two other kids to me, who love me and call me 'Mom", they all make my heart happy and make me feel special.

I was picking up limbs earlier today in the backyard, and I heard this bird just singing up a storm. Different sounds, just sounded so beautiful, I couldn't see him anywhere. I recorded his pretty song with my phone. Then I played it back to him. OH, boy, here he came! He flew down to a lower branch and started singing up a storm. He was a cardinal. I had no idea how they sounded. So, I'm thankful I got to hear that little cardinal.
