Just feeling a little sad and somewhat disconnected from the world. I am trying to remember her and all the wonderful things she did for my community and my family

I feel for you. It's not easy losing your parent. My dad passed 30 years ago today and I still miss him so.

She lives on in your heart, @I am still oxox . My mom's birthday is next week and it is weighing heavy on my heart-I miss her so much-I know how you feel. Hugs to you.

@catter70 I am so very sorry for your loss, it's one that we just cannot 'get over'. Sending you caring prayers.

Sorry you are feeling sad today.  Many of us know the feeling.  It's been almost 13 years for my mom and many, many more for my dad who passed unexpectedly quite young.

They are always in our hearts and I truly feel that keeps their spirit alive.

@I am still oxox - I, too, know what it's like. As others have said, she lives in your heart. I think about mine almost every day, and so many times I wish I could pick up the phone and get her advice on something. When I think about the happy and silly times we had I smile. Please know we are all thinking of you, and let yourself do what you feel like doing today. (((HUGS)))

Re: 1o Years ago I lost my Mom

@I am still oxox Your post really touched my heart. I'm fairly new to this; I lost my dad 3 years ago. Sometimes I'm fine, but sometimes I miss him so much it feels overwhelming. I understand that grief ebbs and flows, so I'm sorry that this is a rough time for you. I'm blessed to still have my mom. She will be 80 soon and is in pretty good health, overall. I dread the day that she will be gone as well, though. Sometimes I wish I could wrap her in bubble wrap to protect her, the same way we feel about children...funny how life comes around full circle like that. I'm saying a prayer for you and for all of us who have lost precious parents, that we will be comforted. Heart

Tomorrow Oct.18 would have been my Dad's 100th birthday..

My siblings and I will have dinner on the phone together and we are all cooking his favorite meal to celebrate him...We do it every year.
