We just recently had to have our 1 1/2 yr. old Whirlpool refrigerator repaired..needed a  new computer mother board...

When we purchased it, we decided to get the extended warranty due to the price of the refrigerator...glad we did.

The repairman came out the same day and repaired it...said that it's pretty common for that part to go out on that model, and it's a good idea to have an extra warranty on refrigerators....said they're not made to last anymore....and suggested for us to renew the warranty when it's due...which we might think about when the time comes...

I guess I'd rather pay for the warranty, than to pay for a new appliance or some really expensive repair (but that's what the company wants people to think..don't know...)....JMO...
