Stumbled across this lakeside vacation cottage done by Sarah Richardson, located in the beautiful Muskoka region of northern Ontario.

It's so rustic and light-filled!

I'm always a fan of painted floors, and these green ones are nice.

Love the rugged imperfection of this fireplace.

The cottage almost gives a Scandinavian feeling, with its simplicity...

Each of the bedrooms has its own personality--  this airy, wood-walled one seems inviting, with its indoor-outdoor feeling...

I love it.....Sarah is definitely one of my favorites.

Her rooms are always warm, inviting, not over done, and peaceful looking.

Warm, cozy, beautifully decorated with much appeal, this cottage is so inviting.  What a great place to spend quiet relaxing time at,  Very appealing.

The colors are yummy., not to mention the landscape as well as interior are serene, reflective and meant to be lived in.

Oh, I love that.  I wish I had a place exactly like that.  I could be happy being there and reading, watching movies.  Oh, gee. I would have to clean house or get a housekeeper.  Maybe if you can afford that, you can afford a full-time housekeeper.

The setting is perfect; the windows plentiful and there is a feeling of lightness throughout.

Love the painted floor and the porch. I would change the decor but overall, it is very inviting.

I always admired Sarah's show, her books and her aesthetic, even when she leaned, as she often did, too far toward the modern, and in spite of her too often choosing geometrics. Her finished looks often appeal. Overall, here, despite some pleasing elements, I don't care for what she's done with these wonderful spaces.

@Oznell @I love the look of this cottage and the color scheme but I have to say not a fan of the seating.  Looks hard or u comfortable to me.  I always picture cottage seating as very comfortable, especially in front of that gorgeous fireplace!
