Wow, indispensible Cindy Hattersley, thank you for posting pictures from House Beautiful on this fab Lake Michigan house, by Chicago designer, Frank Ponterio.

Some beach house!   It's very spacious and tranquil, with stunning water views...  The living room has many special touches, including a burnished reclaimed door turned into a coffee table....

The kitchen's barrel ceiling with unusual inset windows, neat.   Maybe soapstone counters over by the sink?   My favorite substance for counter tops.

The conservatory is flooded with light... 

But there's also an enclosed porch, for a cozy feeling...

And then the patio next to the lake, sigh.

The property rambles this way and that...   what a dream of a getaway on beautiful Lake Michigan.

I work with a woman who lives in MI and often talks about her lake "cottage".  I hear from colleagues, it's hardly a cottage"!

@Oznell  Michigan is my home state and I spent many a summers camping on Lake Huron. Michigan is beautiful and I miss her. I say "yes please!" To this gorgeous house! Thank you for sharing these beautiful pics.

I located the article, the home does sit on Lake Michigan, but in Cook County, IL. It didn't seem to rock that rustic, Up North, Michigan vibe.

A LOT of people have waterfront cottages here that are far more affordable and dare I say relateable here on an inland lake.  😊

I  love most of the homes you post, but I can't help but wonder if any designers know how to design homes for families? Or even grandparents who have young grands visiting often?  My homes have changed and grown over the years from babies, toddlers, school age, to teenagers. 

The up keep must cost a fortune and almost impossible to keep pristine without lots of help. I will continue to enjoy looking at them and even pick up hints.  Thanks for posting.

Stunning home with lovely rooms!  The patio and view of the Lake is spectacular also. I love all the space in the rooms and the ceilings are so appealing.  I could easily move in and be content!!!!
