I went to France with an older French friend, and at that time she pointed out to me these markets where they sold very simple clothing (house dresses). She said that was the dress of the older women on a budget. They were very easy to purchase.

There were various colors, but overall they were subdued. She explained that not everyone there has the big bucks for the trendy styles. Nor do they fit their lifestyles.

This was so interesting. Thank you. I go home to Europe every couple of years or so and am fascinated to see how people dress!! Parisians, Italians from big cities seem to be the best dressed! They are not fussy dressers, quite classic, but accessories make their look!! Now you have made me start thinking about another trip.
