Well, everybody moderates their board in the way that they see fit, so I don't begrudge them that.

As a non-board-owning poster, I just choose where I want to be.  Most places except this one and some of the really anti-social places really don't need that much moderation because everybody acts like a grown-up.

I know that, aside from here, on other boards I frequent, I cannot remember the last time a post had to be moderated or a thread deleted.

Current events that do not involve politics, products and such have not been banned as far as I know. Is when they become against guidelines, argumentative and downright nasty they tend to get the poof. On the internet there are so many other venues to discuss those things and participate in argumentative topics which "anything goes" Even Face Book has become a place to snipe anyone who dare think differently or not fall into herd thinking. I dont always agree on the subjects being deleted but is not my place to dictiate how these boards are run.

I've seen many current events that are not political get taken down.

As for the sniping, I agree with you, they are everywhere.  I read a really good study of trolls not long ago, but even though it's not political, I'm pretty sure it would get taken down if I posted it so I won't Smiley Happy

I believe that it makes good business sense for QVC to continue to keep out of politics as much as possible.

A separate forum for politics on this board would be trolled relentlessly and abused mercilessly by outsiders from all political persuasions.

The mods have enough free babysitting to do already with . . .

"noise" is the perfect term.

It's nice to be able to come here and not have to deal with that sort of stuff.  Some people enjoy the drama of it all...

Yup....I hate that subject and is noones business what I think or how I vote. Of course by looking at some of the deleted threads, is like some want to act like children by "pushing boundaries" they full well know are against forum policy. Is like they want to get the last word or their opinion in before they full well know it will be deleted. Drama free zone here.

The same people will also do this on any/every topic they know will be poofed. It's a childish neener-neener game to some. I'm like - What - they think if they do it enough QVC will start being okay with it?

These forums will never be a drama-free zone, though ;-) People can, and do, create drama out of pretty much anything.

ITA.  I don't know why someone would purposely start a post they know is against forum standard guidlines, other than they are childish.

Now if there was only a refuge from people who have had a post or two removed and *can't let it go.*

Many posters have had posts deleted by the moderators. Most of us just shrug and think "whatever" and get over it, knowing we are not special snowflakes.

I do not come here as a getaway from anything or anyone having to do with my real life or the real world. There are a lot of things going on in most everyone's life that visit these forums.

Bad things happening to myself, or anyone else that chooses to visit and post here, are not the problem for me. In life, them happening most times, cannot be avoided. Thus my view is not that they happened to me, but how I react/respond to them.

Not a lot of topics that are not "opinionated" in the cyber or real world. I don't feel I learn near as much from people that share my opinions, just the opposite.

That is how I feel about religious or political discussions. It is not the topics that are the problem, it is the way in which one chooses to respond to them.

Allow the topics and remove the opinions of those that do not respond in a civil manner. Why remove a topic from everyone because there are some that cannot control there responses.

I do not appreciate any topic being "banned", just because, by moderators or prohibited topics, again just because. I applaud intermediaries for making thought out decisions, but not just removing any post "because it MIGHT BE controversial". My removed post contained 3 letters in a non-political topic. Why would I feel or say: "way to go mods"? Simple, I won't.

Now to how I really feel.

This bears repeating, John. I feel completely the same.

I know, right?  A few times I've had posts deleted for no good reason.  One even said it was deleted because I posted a link to another site.  The weird thing was that I did not post any link at all.    I mentioned it in one additional post and that was that.  I cannot imagine whining about it or starting a whole thread about it.

Big deal.  Life isn't fair.  If having some silly post deleted (and I admit that a couple of mine were rightfully deleted) is the most unfair thing I've had happen in my life, heck - in this week, things are going pretty well!  Smiley Happy
