Hi,
A lot of real life stuff has happened and Ive been able to handle: a/c broke, heater had to be fixed, fridge died, flood in the bathroom due to an overflowing toilet. This is within the last few weeks. I was fine with all of this. I could find the good out of all the bad. Until last Wed afternoon and the vet said my beautiful wonderful beagle may have cancer. Shes lost a lot of weight recently. 3 lbs within the last six months. Ive had Gracie since she was eight weeks old and she 14. She also has Addisons disease.
Today she had x rays and an ultra sound. She has a mass in her liver. The specialist who treats her for Addisons, said if it was her 14 year old dog, shes not sure she would do the surgery. X rays confirmed that the mass is only in her liver. Its hard to say, but we think she has a few more months with me. So Im going to spoil her rotten during that time which means less time on the forum.
Right now she and Lucy are eating burgers from McDonalds. Gracie will start eating canned dog food and puppy food to fatten her up. If you click on my avatar, thats Gracie.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Awwwww. I am so sorry that your beloved beagle is ill.
I wish that I had some words to make you feel better, but I am sending you hugs.

@makeup addict, it is so hard on the heart to travel this journey with your aged pet. What a doll! I would spoil her, too, you're making some loving memories. God bless both you and Gracie as the days unfold.

Thanks. Both dogs are 14, but Gracie was a baby when I got her. Shes the best dog. I will get another beagle, but Im not ready to say goodbye to this one. Shes outside digging a hole right now, so shes acting like her old self. Vet says shes not in any pain. So until Gracie says its time, Im spoiling her.

I'm so sorry. We lost a Golden to cancer. It's heartbreaking. If the vet says she's not in pain, at least that's a blessing. I will pray for you and Gracie. You spoil her rotten!!
Edited to say that Gracie looks like a real cutie.

@makeup addict, I am so sorry to hear this news about your sweet beagle. It's so hard for me to write this -- I truly feel your pain. I applaud your decision to spend precious time with your Gracie and I sincerely hope you get to do just that.
Last year my one dog was diagnosed with cancer on a Thursday (on my birthday, no less!) I won't go into details as this is about Gracie, not my dog, but he appeared to be completely healthy -- was a weird fluke how we found out about the cancer. Add to that, he was only 7 years old. Still a baby in my eyes. Anyway, I vowed to spend time doing things he loved and devoting myself to him for his last few months. Four days later he collapsed and died.
I tell you this, not because I think that will happen to Gracie, but because I want you to enjoy each and every second you have with her. My thoughts will be with you. Take care.

I know how heart-wrenching it is to nurse a dog through a terminal illness. Enjoy the time you have left with her.

I just wanted to express my sorrow along with everyone else. But it sounds like you and Gracie have some time to make some good memories. There really are no words that can comfort one at this time, but know that there is yet another person who will have you and Gracie in their thoughts and prayers.

So very sorry for you. Praying for you and Gracie. This is a heartbreaking time for you since all you can do is to keep Gracie comfortable and happy! Gracie is very lucky to have such a loving and dedicated mom.
