Hi, @SilleeMee  I told you I purchased the med spa own formula and it was .025 tret, etc.  Will I get red from that?  I still have not tried it. lol.

@Pink123

Maybe in the beginning and since everyone's skin is different, no telling how red or for how long it will last. Hope for the best. Some people with redness have positive experiences when using tret. They say it helps.

Re: COVERAGE FOR FACIAL REDNESS

[ Edited ]

I know it's different for everyone and I'm so much better with that facial and the change to aveeno cleanser.

It's a really nice place and she texted me 5 days after to see what happened and how I'm doing..  I told her it was getting much better.  I still have a few 2 pimples on my lower lip area (underneath).  I call them "squatters".  She will get them next time. more like whiteheads. she laughs. lol.

She said, ok, next time (in two weeks) she said I'm going to get rid of them  with a more aggressive pore exfoliation.  No new pimples, less redness overall. products.  She told her mom has the same thing as I. Not much tingling itch on the same 2 spots on cheeks either for rosacea spots.

Oh, she also gave me 2 little plastic sample tubes full of a mud like color which is sulfur based.  She said to mix some in with my cleanser and them use moisturize..  I will try in a few days.

Still wary of starting tret even though its .025.  I forgot, niacin was 2nd on the ingredient list and then hylauronic acid the third.

I'm chicken after using Paula's choice.  Dry as a bone, ha!

PS.  you need to push me. LOL.

Tretinoin will help your pores clean out. That's what it was invented for. It will also improve the texture and thickness of your skin. Thicker skin means less visible redness which becomes visible when skin gets thinner with age. Using tret means that you will need to protect your skin from the sun.

Ok, thank you.  I'm a vampire live on the treasure coast of Florida,

and raised here.  I got out of the sun completely at 26.

Do you think a better way for me having the 4 cool peel treatments and using the facialist to clean out pores would be better.  It's already so hot here.

PS. or try that sulfur compound samples she gave me.  I tried "finacea" like my mom and I did and @Trinity11  did but it dried me out so, did not work, and I quit. but I had IPL and that sufficed the best of all..  But it will creep back.

Bottom line, the heat here can be very oppresive and I don't understand the madness to move to Florida.

Re: COVERAGE FOR FACIAL REDNESS

Hey @Trinity11 , I just asked @SilleeMee  about the finacea.

My mom and I tried it before laser, it dried me out awful.

We both quit it.  I also read metro and I tried that too.

But I'm getting much better after specialist and changing products and the 4 cool peel treatments last year.

I think I need good old fashioned facial every 4 to 6 weeks.

It's all so expensive, but I think I found a good aesthetician.

I really can't say what would be better to try. All I can say is trial and error might be what you need to do until you can find what works best.

I can't tell you how much time and money I spent on my redness issue until I found the right treatment for it. I almost gave up. I'm happy that I finally found something that works. The laser doctor, too, was also trying different types of treatments. She didn't know either what would work until afterwards. Got to be expensive so now I only do my treatments every few years.

thanks, I think your correct, and on another thread about (cool peel which you know)

but I just did not follow through with the oily skin started getting. I thought oily young skin was pretty cool. haha. wrong.

I should have started 2 months after last treatment to clean my pores with new skin coming in. I was blocked.

These Doctors are not the best with follow up.

Yes, @SilleeMee  me too. My brother and I have had it for years,  I have probably spent almost 20,000  more now,  It's enough. However, it worked. but I didnt take care of clogged pores.

I won't use rosacea creams like metro or finaciea because they don't work for me,

Let the facialist take over who really  evaluates the skin.  Machines do work, but a hands on expert works too.  PS,  They have IPL but but does not think I need it.  I like them. One step at a time.....

Re: COVERAGE FOR FACIAL REDNESS

@Pink123

Not too long ago my rheumatologist told me that high blood pressure plays a major role in skin redness (red eyes too) and that even slightly high BP can cause it. Once I got on BP med, my redness became less visible...YAY!
