@sfnative  I was going to write an answer to you but , instead I'll just say best of luck to you in your search for a doctor.

Oh yeah , BTW - if you are really a nurse you'd know that one of the first things you learn in nursing school is - nurses never diagnose. You present the symptoms and that is all.And any nurse who doesn't know what to tell the doctor when she calls him needs to give up her license and get a job at Mc Donalds.

@151949 What is up with you?  Good grief!!

Re: sfnative regarding oxycodone

Now, that's interesting 151949: you were the very first to assume addiction...and you unsuccessfully diagnosed me girlie: awhile back, I diffuse demylination on the cortical areas of my brain and you told me not to worry-good thing I didn't listen...

Oh-and then there is the time you called me an idiot because I questioned how your insulin dependent hubs could go into insulin shock....if he was not taking his insulin....

You would really do well to read responses to your posts and the opinions of others in the aftermath...I have never seen anything like it.

Now, go and examine yourself-and please don't respond to my posts ever again. I know others feel that way-and they are speaking right here....as many have on other topics....

Bye-bye now....

@Poodlepet2  You have me confused with someone else. I do not have an insulin dependant husband. And I don't recall any conversations about your brain. I am particularly careful not to ever give advice on this board  more serious than call your doctor or apply ice.

And I did not say anyone here is addicted. I said - she needs to discuss it with her doctor as I would find a pain doctor dropping me to be a red flag.

People on this board read things and make assumptions then assign their assumption to another person.

Short memory... Poodle pet was referring to your post about Diabetic shock. Her nomenclature was just different as some still use the term insulin shock for diabetic shock. I saw it and knew immediately that you knew nothing about diabetes. Your husband fasting would not have put him in shock..any nurse would know that ...especially if they worked in Intensive Care.

You have given your advice/opinion often here. Your harsh words are noted on many occasions when a poster comes here for support. Your reply to a woman with cancer cut to the bone and I will never forget the pain you inflicted on her because you claimed she was giving in to the disease. It was simply heartless.

(((@sfnative))), I completely agree with all the posters who support, respect and admire you.    Please don't allow a few mean-spirited posts, chasing you from thread to thread, to be of any concern.   That sort of callous insensitivity and misplaced, abysmal so-called "expert advice" has become the dark underbelly of the internet...  I never used the "ignore" feature on the old platform but I certainly can see why it could be useful.   I hope you'll try a mental ignore since that's the best we can do with what we have.

I've lived with chronic, disabling pain for many years now.    As others here do, I completely understand how it casts a dark shadow on daily life, how it unrelentingly wears us down to absolute exhaustion, and also how stressful and discouraging the constant fight for a better quality of life can be.    You are in my thoughts and prayers.   (((gentle hugs))) for you, Rebecca.❤️

Re: sfnative regarding oxycodone

Bless my soul-this is a puzzle....check out 2/28/17: "Nothing by mouth except clear liquids"- begun under your name...

Just glancing through those topics begun under your screen name-wow....mods work overtime!

Ok Peeps-I am done, done, done with this poster-and I suggest you all do the same. I wish we still had the "Ignore" button.

If you want to see for yourselves, just scroll through any topic begun by said poster.....

Between reading Domestic and International news-and this-and woodpeckers falling down our chimney-and finches appearing on our porch when there are no holes in screens or open doors, and people flying in tricycle with wings over Charlotte Harbor, I CEREMONIOUSLY DECLARE A DAY OF ABSURDITY!

Now, let's go watch Monty Python and recite "Lewis Carroll's "Jabberwocky" to our pets...no pet, no problem! Let's get silly!Smiley Happy

OK, here I go.

Whatever it is that that doc told you, let me tell you this:

1.  You don't know my medical hix and cannot, therefore, come to any conclusions.

(the rest of this comment was omitted, because it isn't necessary to display again).

@sfnative, you don't need to continue to respond or clarify your situation to anyone ... especially to any who just want to cause controversy and carry a big spoon to stir the pot.

I hope you have a good weekend. Cat Happy

My mom always said, " I heard, they said, or I knew somebody who" were the ones to never believe as truth!  She was correct on this one.

Why would "An anesthesia doctor I was friends with once told me - when I get a long convoluted story that is difficult to follow and makes little sense I instantly become suspicious it is all made up. Then I look more closely at that patient for involuntary reactions to pain."?

And, of course, nothing has changed in the practice of medicine since she left work.  She knows it all, and not just in the field of medicine!

Re: sfnative regarding oxycodone

I have memory problems of all kinds-and it's upsetting to me.

I had to prove to myself that my memory is not that bad and that I am not imagining or confusing anything.

I did see it for myself-but the extra validation and opinions of other posters makes me feel so much better that I am not the only one with an opinion on the poster whose name I will officially ignore-or try to....

I mean, Ms. RN was the first to respond on the original thread in an accusing manner about addiction.

...and you know what? IF somebody does indeed have an addiction problem, nurses can have a tremendous role-but making moral decisions about addiction is not one of them.

I have no doubts that there are people here who suffer from addiction of all kinds, but the cold know-it-all moral judgements by certain people keep people from speaking out and getting kind, friendly support.
