I happened to come across your message about Oxycodone, I have been taking it for years. I currently take 20 milligrams every five hours along with the Fentanyl Patch. Is there anything I can help you with regarding the Oxycodone?

@Lindsays Grandma, I am so happy you responded...I was sickened by what I was reading on that thread-people making snap decision about addiction...I am sick and tired of it.
I will not respond there, but people don't understand that there is a Federal Registry that keeps track of prescriptions-and that your pharmacist can easily find out all kinds of information...they don't know that Pain Management doctors do lengthy testing and screenings for drug levels and street drug use...
We had a local retired oncologist who was stricken with pancreatic cancer-terminal-one of the most painful ways to leave this earth- but he went on camera to talk about how he was treated like a criminal by pharmacists and they were outright refusing to fill his scrips...
I have not "known"Rebecca very long, but she is dealing with so much healthwise...it's heartbreaking. Lesser people-myself included-would crumble....perhaps possibly throw in the towel....but here she is-living the best she can, without acrimony or bitterness or self pity.
My heart goes out to you as well: I am pretty sure you certainly didn't ask to have your body wracked by pain-and I am pretty certain that surgical options for you were exhausted.
Thank you for being a lone voice of reason: if anybody comes to this thread to diss you etc-ignore them.
Have a beautiful day,
Hugs,
Poodlepet2

This is why hospice is a blessing, they can take care of the meds for the patient.
Otherwise, I agree and sympathize with anyone suffering in pain.

Hi @software. My thoughts are is that at that time, maybe he just wanted autonomy. I have no doubts he knew how it would end, but as long as he could function, he wanted to be responsible for his own medications-and just live....not having to wait around for somebody to come.
I agree with you: hospice is a wonderful thing.

I have known
@sfnative for many years here on the Q boards.
I had no input for her when I first saw her question and when I returned, the thread was locked for commenting.
She has withstood years of intense pain -- just choking pain. Add to that, she left a responsible career in the medical field so she has a keen concept of her condition. For doctors to dismiss her symptoms is just poppy-******.
I missed her medical knowledge when she was moving and absent the past few years.
Having had numerous health issues for the last 30 years myself, I have been able to perceive exactly what she is perceiving right now concerning the blind eye of the medical community.
Hoping so much you can find help @sfnative
Also, so excited for you finishing the crochet blanket!
Will you please post a picture of it?

@LTT1, I admire Rebecca so much: we met on the Recipe Forum discussing cake- something she can't have. Little by little, reading her posts, I have an idea of what's going on. People like her make others look really small in every way.
Rebecca, if you read this, you inspire me-no question. Piecing together your story, as I said in another post-many would have checked out of this world if they were in your position and went through what you have-including me, perhaps. You are a strong woman.

sfnative had asked that her post be closed for further comments in Customer Care. Here is a copy of that request:

Dear Customer Service,
Within "Wellness," I created a topic today, "Is anyone taking one 10/325 Oxycodone...?" This was initially posted on Wednesday, 26 Apr.
I'd appreciate it if someone would cease comments on this thread., as I no longer have an interest in comments. Was hoping for input from those with like experience, but, alas, it didn't quite work out that way.
Many thanks in advance.
~
@LTT1, @Lindsays Grandma, @Poodlepet2, @software
It is truly sad how topics get twisted and turned for the worst ...
@sfnative, wishing you the best
.

I too have known Rebecca @sfnative for many years, mostly from this Wellness Forum. My forums are just a few and this is probably my most visited. I knew she was gone and started a few threads as a call out to her. I was really happy when she put up her call out thread here for me.
Read Rebecca's thread last night and after reading some of the responses, I thought it would not be my best time to comment. Not too many things get me po'd, but things insinuated and said in her thread, was/is one of them.
I have nothing to say to the ones that were questioning her reasons for asking the question in the title of her thread. What I would say would likely fall on deaf ears. We have talked here many times about health issues, and I knew her profession and some of her medical problems.
What I didn't know was the extent of all of them until I read her thread late last night, early morning. She is to be admired for all she has been going through for so many years and still functioning well in all capacities.
Rebbecca, I am thinking of you and every thing you are going through at this time. I wish I could offer you more on your question asked in your thread. For me there is not a single doubt you are not addicted to the oxy.
My spinal surgeon friend gave me a prescription for Hydrocodone when I ruptured my L-3. Since I was on Warfarin and Plavix at the time, he would not do any invasive procedure until i first/had a Greenfield Vena Cava Filter inserted/been off of both Warfarin and Plavix for 14 days.
I think I may have taken 2 or 3 of the Hydro, not sure of the dosage. It started greatly interfering with my pysch meds, and I was having, once again major panic attacks? Visited with my Psychiatrist ASAP, and she told me what I had already suspected. I quit taking the hydro and things slowly got better.
I was going to PT during that time, after the Vena Cava was put in place. That was probably 10-11 years ago and needless to say, no way will I take any the pain meds in that category again. No NSAIDS/no anti-inflammatory meds, and Tylenol is about the extent of anything I will take for paid.
With my recent fractured rib, the ER doctor asked me if I wanted a prescription for Hydrocodone, and I said no thank you. You know most of my stories, but that was not my purpose for this reply.
I want to let you know that I am thinking of you and my thoughts will always be what you are, and have been dealing with for a very long time. I did not respond in your thread because I may have said things there that might have closed your thread. I was tempted after some replies I read, but somehow kept my cool.
Take care of yourself my friend, and remember I will always be willing to help in any possible way through this type of communication.
Your forever friend,
JOhn

@hckynutJohn, that thread got me so angry that if I had replied, I would have been banned. Some people use their credentials as a means of demeaning and posting like they are all knowing, when they haven't got a clue what it is like to have severe pain. Text books do not teach everything.....
Hope you are doing well......
