Has anyone ever had really low cortisol levels? A relative has been diagnosed with low cortisol, she was given oral hydrocortisone that made her very sick - nausea, headaches, insomnia for starters. Ironically, the few days she took it her hip pain was reduced. She will be going back to her doctor next week to explore other options, does anyone know what else they can do? She also has diabetes, high cholesterol, and high triglycerides. I can't help but think bringing her cortisol levels up will help with the pain in her back and hip. There are days when she can barely walk.
