How have surgeries gone for anyone lately? I'm debating this upcoming surgery (along with carpal tunnel surgery) in non-dominate hand & wondered if anyone has had a prosthesis implanted to replace the trapezium bone? I'm wondering what the prosthesis is--round marble type or flat surface & what they're made of; how did the post op period go (lots of lost work? cast? pain?) & how long the prosthesis has lasted. I'm debating which type of cmc joint surgery to have (the carpal tunnel has to be done, reguardless): the tendon balled up type or artificial joint. I have 2 hand surgeons & each recommends one type. Any help out there??
