my dh suffers with tinnitus. To go to sleep he puts in earphones connected to Spotify on his phone, and listens to music. Seems to work for him. I cant imagine that constant whooshing sound all day every day

Be very careful of that medication. I ended up in the ER twice because that blood pressure medication depleats you of potassium. My doctor finally put me on a different med.
Im sure her doc is on top of that.

So when I try to sleep, even a sheet on my foot hurt. So
Oh man, I can relate! A few years ago I kicked my Pilates rebounder with my pinkie toe.
So the nail was just hanging by a thread. UGH! I didn't want to pull it off I was petrified it would hurt more.
So this is going to sound totally crazy, but my husband taped a dixie cup to my pinkie toe to protect it from the sheet ripping it off!
It was kind of like when you see dogs that had surgery and have that crazy collar around their neck.
But it worked. I was able to sleep.

My sister is very, very ill and her life will never be the same, I wake up in the middle to of the night to wee, (TMI) and get back into bed and start thinking of her, and can't fall back to sleep knowing the difficult challenges and life changes she has ahead of her. I am 600 miles from her, so it's not like I can go to her house every day and help her.
(I'm very upset and don't want any advice or suggestions, I hope you understand)

I understand. I wish I could be more of a listening ear for you. Hugs and a prayer for you and your dear sister.

Chronic pain has been a problem for me for about 20 years. For years it was an undiagnosed pain syndrome that caused muscle pain and cramping. And then it went away. Now its osteoarthritis in my neck, upper back, shoulder, right knee. Something hurts every minute of every day. I take Tylenol during the day and just ignore the pain. But my body and mind need a restful sleep so I take 300mg of Gabapentin an hour before bedtime and I sleep soundly for 6-7 hours.
