Re: What Time Do You Stop Liquids.....

I don't stop my liquids.  I always have something to drink nearby all day long, coffee, electrolytes with my lunch, ice water w/flavor drops, multiple mugs of hot tea.  As you can imagine, I visit the powder room often throughout the day. I do cut off the caffeine mid afternoon, but DH and I have started a new ritual of having a mug of some type of chamomile tea before we go to bed.  I sleep well most of the time, but I do get up once or twice a night.

Re: What Time Do You Stop Liquids.....

@ECBG  I'm so sorry you are going through this as sleep/lack of sleep is so important for us.  I found out I have sleep apnea/restless legs about 5 years ago so take 2 trazodone 30 minutes prior to turning lights out.  Probably 11:05 I'm asleep but wake 4:30 or so to go to the restroom.  I think that anything one can do to get a good nights sleep is so important & didn't realize this until the last few years so hope it gets better for you.

A couple hours before lights out. Doesn't seem to help as I still get up 2 or 3 times a night.It's probably my cats waking me up, but then I still have to get up.

I've given up trying to curtail liquids at night.  I want to get enough water each day, so I tend to drink a few glasses at night and live with the consequences.

@colleena

Last night I cut of liquids at 9pm.  I enjoy sipping, but I am not thirsty. It seems to have worked.  Hopefully, I can create a new sleep habit.

Re: What Time Do You Stop Liquids.....

The struggle is real!  We eat early (4pm) because of my husband's work schedule.  I have water (not an excessive amount) with my evening meal and am done drinking by 5pm.  I go to bed between 9 and 10pm, but even stopping liquids several hours before that, it really doesn't seem to matter, as I still have to get up at least once during the night 99% of the time.  I usually get 3-4 hours of sleep before that happens.  Then about 75% of the time, I have a hard time falling back asleep.

Re: What Time Do You Stop Liquids.....

I stop most liquids about 6pm, make a last run to the BR about 9:30, and never have to get up at night.

I rarely drink anything with caffeine, especially after 5pm. Before I retired, I stopped caffeine about 3pm.

Re: What Time Do You Stop Liquids.....

I drink right up before bedtime at 10:00 p.m.  Since I get up on work days between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m. that is usually not a problem.  Even on the weekends and sleeping until about 7:00 I sleep through the night.

Re: What Time Do You Stop Liquids.....

I used to take all of my vitamins right before I went to bed.  I changed that recently and it has helped.  If I get up at all, it's once a night.
