Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Did 30 minutes of biking and then my Power hour this morning.  Not sure what's going on this week but had only 13 people in class again.  We usually have 40-50.  Not complaining!

Please send your cold weather this way.  90 degrees in September the day before Fall starts is just not okay.  Smiley Sad

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Good morning everyone.

@DrKelli, I am drawn to classes that I know won't make me stick out like a sore thumb.  I look at exercise video promotions that show people at my level and body type.  Shows seniors.   It has to relate to me in some way.

Today is busy for me so I have to attend an early class today that I've never been to.  I didn't workout yesterday so I have to go this morning.  Rush hour traffic, yuck!

Have a beautiful day everyone.

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Good Morning, its going to be a hot day here today also, which is very strange for way up North where I am and well into the high 80's for the next 4-5 days.  Humid as well but I won't complain considering what others are dealing with aftermaths of hurricanes and earthquakes.

Did anyone see The Fit Tower Barre system on last night with Cathe?

When I taught classes we had all ages, I had a lady into her 80's and then ladies in their 20's with small children in strollers, everyone had fun and geared their workout to their level which I highly encouraged.   I had the ones who had to have the back row and came early and those who liked the front row, I used to be the one in the back row and when the gal who taught decided to move on to other things she asked me to take over and I never thought I"d ever stand up in front of anyone and do it but I loved it!

Today I think I"ll walk before it gets too hot.  My periformis is bothering me so I think that will be about it.   The weird thing is when I rebound on the reformer that is when this starts bothering me, when I don't rebound it seems okay.

Have a great day everyone!

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Bopper, I was going to ask if you found Q after it was moved, but I know you did since tou asked about the Fit Tower. Yes, I watched. I haven't seen Cathe for a long time, and I didn't recognize her. Her hair is darker or something. She looks great. The fit tower is cool, so versatile....if one has room for it. It looks well built and the price seems good. How's,s new grandbaby doing?

It sounds like everyone has been busy and active. Good job, everyone. I didn't work yesterday, but I was busy all day with chores, etc. I was tempted by the NN down blanket, but resisted. I'd really prefer a throw size.  Q or somebody will probably have a down throw sometime.

It's still hot here, but that may change next week. Yay, I'm ready for a new season.

Oh, Laura, I read some of your posts on the disaster thread. My view is fairly close to yours. i thought about responding to a couple of posts, but decided it wasn't worth the effort because posting wouldn't change anyone's opinion.

@nomless  Smart lady!  I stopped because it just took a bad turn and there is no need to have any of that on the boards. Agree or disagree about an issue but when things get nasty, I have better things to do with myself and my time.

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Hi everyone!  I was going to try and make the 9:00 Pilates class but didn't make it, heard from my hiking buddy in VA so got caught up with her instead, then had to do a couple of things for the house...but I will make the 10:00(Instructor's choice so don't know which one(Tower, Bodhi, Cadillac, a combination, etc until we get there). It's an hour and a half but 30 is stretching which I can't get enough of. And bopper reminded me to check-in, so here I am!  I'm way behind in reading so skimmed and seems everyone is doing okay.

We're warmer again too but should be getting cooler.  Two of my gf's have snow already!  1 in Montana and 1 in Wyoming.  Mountains were covered, pictures were beautiful. Our leaves started changing in July, think they're going to be very saturated this year. It was so foggy on my jog this morning..between being dark and the fog, I coulnd't see a thing. We're supposed to go hiking after class today but it may be too foggy on the trails.

Started a Ladies Bible Study that I really love, such nice, warm, "real" ladies. Also have a great group from the Pilates Studio so that's making me feel more at home here. Did you know it takes around 20 hours to become a Personal Trainer but up to 2 years to become a Pilates Instructor?  Lots of hours, classes, observation, training, etc. Yes, I'm talking about it.  One of my instructors is a well-known Certified Teacher and mentors many, even from other states.  I said not now during the move but we'll revisit this conversation after I get settled and go from there.

I am still running behind so don't have time to reply to everyone...and I'm taking texts as I type so my mind isn't focused...more so than usual...lol.

Phone call rom painter I have to take....have great day everyone!!!  Dr.Kelli wanted to ask about BB but don't have time!  Waving!

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

@Iluvlucy--glad to see you today!

@Laura14--OMG--one of THOSE people today in Zumba.  The room is huge--I have my spot which is kind of the middle of the room, but as small as our class is, am in the back row.  THE ONLY ONE IN THE BACK ROW.  I am between two posts, so there isn't a lot of room and some broad came in late and LITERALLY STOOD 2 FEET AWAY FROM ME!  There was plenty of room in front of me (not in the front row) or in back of me, but she had to stand RIGHT NEXT TO ME!  I have long legs, so when I travel, I cover a lot of distance quickly.  I wanted to throw my water bottle at her.

I did restorative yoga yesterday and I think it is helping my balance a lot. Yay for that.

I have a doctor's appointment at 3 so have to leave work by 2.  It's the "annual" one.  I haven't been for a couple of years though

Last night--I was driving home and was ALMOST home and heard a huge pop.  Well, something hit my windshield and left a baseball sized 'star' on it, so I had to call the insurance company and they had to call the glass replacement company, so that was annoying, plus $100 deductible.  That is getting done tomorrow, so I will have to leave work early AGAIN.  And then I had to go to an HOA board meeting last night.  It is the most thankless job on the planet.  But no one else will do it except the 2 that have been on the board since the subdivision was built and me.  We have two others, but the 3 old timers want to smack them most of the time because they want to change all this stuff, but don't understand our covenants prevent that.  Well, it's almost the weekend.

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Good morning everyone.  @@Iluvlu you, glad you're doing well.

I got to my health center early yesterday and did a two mile walk and finally caught the 8:15 Zumba Tone class for the first time.  Most of the class included weights; in Saturday's class, only about three routines include weights.  My arms got tired, lol.  Looking back, I didvweights everyday that I came.  Back when I used to read books on weight training, I read that weight training should be every other day for specific body parts.  Made sense to me.

Yesterday afternoon, I enjoyed my Red Hatter lunch date.  I love this group but there is one irritating person.  (Isn't there always, lol.). She has written this book and she pushes this book everytime we meet.  When I first met her, she told me that practically every member bought her book already and  wanted to let me know about it.  Out loud, I said thank you.  In my head, I said 'I'm not paying $12.99 for a book the depth of a little more than a quarter of an inch'.  It's about her life.  Sweet but pushy.  She's close to 80, I think.  So yesterday she stood up in the middle of our chatter and eating, demanding attention to let us know that she had copies in her car.  I had to put my hand over my mouth to had my subdued laugh.  I'm not being mean....I just have too much clutter already, why buy a book that I'm not going to read.  She appears to be well off so money is not an issue.  Hey....I'm not well off, lol.

No workout today.  I have a Red Hatter meeting this afternoon and a WW open house to go to this evening.  Tomorrow, back to my routine.  Have a nice day everyone.

Re: Welcome to the September Exercise Thread

Yesterday I hit my 10,000 steps.  I was about to go to bed and noticed I was about 900 steps off so I walked around my house for a bit until the rocket ship went off and then I went to bed.

LOL  Controlled by a tiny computer in 2017.  What have our lives come to?

I am definitely going hiking hopefully tonight after work.

Have a great Friday!
