Good morning all, I hope that Maria is going to leave you all alone.
@nomless, they kept saying that the TSV wasn't for narrow feet, so that took me out. I have a few pairs of Allegrias, one is a Day of the Dead theme with sugar skulls on them and I love them, but they are definitely a colder weather shoe.
@MickD--hope your pinched nerve goes away!
@Laura14, I understand the feeling of eating bad food, but if it makes you feel better--when I go off the rails, it is with donuts. Much worse than hot pockets, I think! LOL! But don't beat yourself up over it. I like POUND, but they don't offer it on a regular basis. I don't think I would like more than 30 minutes of it at a time though.
@Mmsfoxxie, I hope you have fun with Zumba today! I need to start learning some new songs.
@bopper, waving!
I just have small group training today. I was so exhausted last night that I couldn't fall asleep and we've been having good sleeping weather (very cool at night!). I hope I can fall asleep tonight.
Hope you all have a good day!

I worked today and count it as a workout. Long duration low intensity, many squats.
I have 2 pair of Alegria, and I like them, but since I decide to wear a half size larger, they seem a tad too small. My toes are crowded, so I can't wear them for work. I'm hoping the stretchy upper and larger size of the TSV will work for me. Now I'm wearing BZees to work in....they have stretchy uppers any my toes have room to move, lol. Very happy with BZees, but they lack the arch support of the Alegrias.

Good morning! Hope everyone's yesterday was good...mine was.
@DrKelli, yes Zumba was great but I didn't finish the class. It was my third class of the day so it's alway ify whether I finish or not. His Zumba is more high energy than my Saturday Zumba, different instructor. I modify as I can but sometimes get caught up in the spirit of things and overdo. Kelli, did your mom come and I missed it?
@nomless, I agree, sometimes on the job movements can be considered a workout if it's nonstop for a specific about of time. I used to do that when I worked...purposely didn't sit down and kept on the move. Made excuses to go up the stairs, down the long hall rapidly.
@bopper and @lluvlucy, I hope your loved ones are still recuperating.
I'm getting a pedicure, a little grocery shopping and getting gas this morning. I need to workout, though, so I might go to my health center this evening or do something at home because I can't go tomorrow.
Have a great day people!

Morning, storms are approaching so I've been watching the radar. Looks like I'll be working out inside. Pilates reformer rebounding and toning.
Foxxie thank you, my hubby is recovering well. We had a nice before dinner hike last night and then I made chicken taco's. I hope we hear from Lucy too, it worries me.
You did great with zumba yesterday too! Your 3rd class of the day, you are bringing it!!
My son had to leave his 10 day old little boy to go back to work now, he's pretty sad about leaving but soon he'll be back home again. I told him it's how I felt every time he left from here. He understands now.
I think QVC changed their channel here. I went to view the show this morning and my remote just skips over the channel like it doesn't exist, yet it will record on that channel the correct show. I am trying to figure this out. We don't get QVC2 here either. We normally get the Q on 781, and I scroll through and it skips and goes to 780....I need to find this now, on a mission! Hahah
Have a good day everyone!

Good morning, all,
@Mmsfoxxie, yes--my mom was here for 3 weeks and went home 2 weeks ago. I think she was getting bored because I work during the day and she doesn't have a car here (because I only have one). I am glad she came because she got out of the heat--to more heat, only not in the 100s.
@bopper, I'm glad to see your hubby is continuing his recovery. I wish Lucy would check in with us!
@nomless, @Laura14 and @MickD--hope you all are doing well.
I have a question to ask--this stems from a rather heated discussion in the La Blast trainer group I'm in. One of the women asked for marketing materials that showed women who were older and a little heavier, you know--real women (not the skinny 20 year old model types that always seem to show up on fitness promotional materials). The thought process was that if the people shown on the promotional material looked a little more like you and I, that more people would try out the class when they realized it wasn't just for young, skinny, super fit people. Would you be more likely, less likely or the same, try out a class based on the type of person pictured in the promo material? Does it make any difference?
The person who answered got very snippy with her and basically told her that she was requesting special marketing materials based on where she lived (Ireland--very Catholic and she had to have approval from the diocese to teach the class) and that the marketing materials were just fine because they showed multicultural cross sections. My response to him was that she wasn't requesting special materials, we would all like to see a broader spectrum represented on the materials instead of skinny 20 year olds. Zumba is notorious for this in their marketing.

@DrKelli I'll only speak for myself but I coudl care less what promo materials look like. They always show 18 year olds with perfect bodies that gravity and aging haven't touched yet. It's very deceiving since most of that has nothing to do with the gym but I think most people are smart enough to take it for what it is.
I will say I am more prone to caring what the instructor looks like. I don't like the young chippers because the inexperience and immaturity of youth sometimes can get grating.
One of the instructors I take two classes with is probably about 7-10 years younger in her 30s. I am in my 40s and every once in a while she'll make a comment about not knowing a particular song and looking it up and saying oh that's from the 70s or 80s "before I was born" or "I was in diapers".
It just kind of smacks us older people in the face as yes that song we grew up with is about 40 years old now and so are we. Most of the people in the class are about 30-50 plus so it's not said all that often and when it is they take it in good humor but it is jarring. I know she doesn't realize the effect but she will as her time is coming very shortly.
The other instructor I take during the week is a heavy girl. I don't know why that makes me more comfortable sometimes but it does. It just shows you don't have to achieve the "perfect" body to care about your health and exercise on a regular basis.
She has always been way heavier than me and most of the people in the class but it's also the one class where heavier set people are in the audience. I personally think they are there because the teacher looks like them and it's more comforting than the younger chick in spandex.
So my vote is pictures I walk by. Real people make an impression and affect my comfort level.

I am 57 and have a menopause gut. I look like a real person (in my opinion). I also do not like the young ones fresh out of college. They have no idea how do work with people that have injuries or limitations. I'd rather have someone who is there to have fun and to make sure the class has fun (without getting hurt). One of the other instructors also mentioned putting images of themselves with their class on the promotional material.
Thank you, @Laura14!

@DrKelli I was going to put that in too about older people not being able to do the level of skill everyone else does. I'm old enough and have always been independent enough to do my own thing and not care about an instructor's disapproving looks but others may not be.
I'm short so a lot of times I take my step down further than what is required because it's a struggle just based on height sometimes. And I am also not one to beat the you know what out of myself. I love it when these "tough" young kids come in with knee braces and arm braces and complain that they never feel well and it hurts to do class.
Then stop overtraining, young idiot. Rest is as important and you should exercise to feel well not injure yourself. The common sense is not all there yet.

@DrKelli using a broad spectrum of ages, body types, and nationalities/ethnicities would boost interest in classes.
Did Total Gym with R Brown.
Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Well I think I decided my exercise is going to be cutting my lawn again tonight after work. Let the hike up and down the big hill begin!
