Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

@bopper I was just thinking about your dad and wondering how he was doing. Glad he's doing well.

My mother has come home. She is divorcing the third husband and is currently throwing herself into completely redoing the upstairs where she is.

She is upending everything but so far I am rolling with it. We currently have no laundry and I am holding my breath because she now wants to mess with the TV/internet set up we just fixed and of course you depend on that for everything these days.

Anyway, I am done with Fitbit. Now my battery runs down within a day. That is unacceptable. I have this new Charge 2 and in 2 years a cracked screen and no battery which you can't replace? Bye, bye.

I am off to the GA mountains today with my youngest niece. She has nominated me to be her new mommy. I guess my sister is too much of a disciplinarian. LOL

Have a great weekend all!

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

Hey, yesterday I forgot to check in.  It was my moms BD, she's been gone almost 21 years, miss her so much!

Today was well not so good.   Logan and I were walking on my trail, he's leashed and a man and his kids were near me on a hill sledding and his German Shepherd ran towards us through a few trees and showed his fangs and tried to attack my little boy.   I was terrified, and screaming for the man to come get his dog and that stupid idiot just stood there yelling the dogs name for what seemed like forever, Logan laid down in the snow I think so it wouodn't get him and I"m screaming at the man and finally he came and pulled his dog away by his collar and told me his dog usually likes other dogs, and then said sorry and started walking away.  I said "dont you have a leash" and he said "yes" and I screamed at him "USE IT!"...You guys I was shaking, started crying and went home.  I checked Logan for bites and he seems okay and I think his thick fur helped, he had saliva on him though.  I can't believe people..He lives 3 houses down from me and moved in about 2 months ago.  I don't know his name.

I got my 12,000 steps in.  Laura I have the Charge2, so far no issues with it.

It's so cold here, was 13 when I got up.  Hubby got home from camp tonight too.  I told him our ordeal.   Just so upsetting.

Anyways that's my day today.  Good night everyone.

@bopperOMG I am so sorry that happened to you and Logan.  You both must have been so scared.  What kind of dog is Logan?  So glad you both are ok - shaken but ok.  Give him lots of hugs and love tonight.

[ Edited ]

Good morning everyone.

What an ordeal with that dog incident @bopper.  I see this type thing on Judge Judy all the time.  Some dog owners are so negligent with their 🐕.  The thing is that walkers have to be so careful when a dog 🐶 is approaching.  I go yards away when I see one while the owner is smiling saying he’s just friendly, he won’t bite.  Well, he thinks that but I don’t take changes with unfamiliar animals.  Years ago, one chased me and I jumped on a hood of a 🚘, lol.  Luckily, I was young enough to do it, 😆.

Yeah, those Fitbits are crazy.  Just this morning, I woke up at 4:22 am.  I looked at my app and it showed 4:22.  I went and got my coffee and propped up in bed, reading and watching tv.  I looked at my app again to see if it registered my one stair for going down to get coffee.  That thing had changed my wake up time to an hour later.  I’m so addicted to it, though, that I might buy another one in January when I’m sure they will be on sale.  It’s not the incorrect sleep that bothers me as much as the flimsy band connection that’s holding on by a thread.

Senior Cardio and then Strength & Motion this morning....actually, I need to stay all day, 😂.  Boy have I overate this weekend!  😑.  Unfortunately, I don’t see a change coming before the end of the year.  To answer your question @bopper, I’ve got two Red Hatter Xmas parties coming up in December on back to back Saturdays.

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

@bopper, I hate irresponsible dog owners.  Especially the ones that think their dogs are under "voice command"  because  once that dog gets triggered, no amount of screaming their names works.  We have idiots like that at the dog park too. There is one dog in particular--his owner is so stupid.  Once she gets in the park, she pays no attention to the dog.  A number of people have yelled at her when her dog is getting too aggressive and she doesn't even do anything.

It was a good weekend overall.  Saturday, we got freezing rain, which I hate more than snow because it turns my driveway into sheet ice.  My neighbor was spreading some ice melt and came over onto my driveway to do the same (I was out walking the dogs) and almost fell because he hit a patch of ice.

I finalized my December playlist--it's about half holiday and half regular stuff, holiday songs are Lil Saint Nick--the Beach Boys, Run, Run Rudolph--Jimmy Buffet, Christmas Eve/Sarajevo--Trans Siberian Orchestra and All I want for Christmas--Mariah Carey.  Personally, I can't stand her, but that song is a tradition in the zumba class.

Today is Quick Fit--I'm going to be good all week.

Hope you all have a good day!

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

@DrKelli, speaking of dear sweet Mariah, I saw her on Jimmy Fallon Friday night (I think it was Friday) and she had on a dress where her boobs were huge, spilling out of her dress.  I think to myself that I don’t recall her being at large.  Then they show her album that she’s pitching and her boobs were normal size, lol.  Why do people want to make themselves look like caricatures of a normal person.

@Mmsfoxxie, she always dresses in clothing 4 sizes too small.  Supposedly she had bariatric surgery for weight loss, but it sounds like she just kept on eating.  And not working out.

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

Hey everyone, busy day today.  I hadn't planned on babysitting but it was terrible here today with lots of snow and slippery roads and my son couldn't finish work on time so I had her most of the day and when she left I hopped on my TG and did an hour.

Logan is a Sheltie ( Shetland Sheepdog) or miniture collie.  He's a sweet boy too.  If there is a next time I'm calling the police, and there better not be a next time.

Well our Thanksgiving is down the tubes, family stuff again.  My dad won't agree to going to my sons because they will have a few people he doesn't know so he says he isn't going.  Well nobody else in the family will have him, so I will do it here, and miss going to my sons house.  I can't have dad alone on Thanksgiving even though it's his choice...it's alway something here!

I'm tired tonight and hope I'll sleep good. I wake up and then my mind won't shut off.  This CO trip weighs heavily on me and I wish it was over already.  I hate leaving Logan, but saying that makes me sound not so nice I guess when I'm going to see my son and grandson...I'm just an animal lover.

Watching The Voice, and then heading to bed..   Good night everyone!

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

Good morning everyone.

@bopper, you’re a good daughter, better than I am.  But then again, your father probably was a good father.  Mine wasn’t.  But because he’s my father, I accept him although I don’t see him much.  Yet he chose me to handle his affairs.  Why?  He said it’s because I’m the only one of his eight kids that are alive that has forgiven him.

Body & Sculpt, Flexibility and then about 30 minutes of the Zumba class this morning.  So far, the predicted snow has not come.  Have a great day everyone.

Re: Welcome to the November Exercise Thread

Hit my 10,000 steps yesterday shopping my butt off while working from offsite.

The good news is I think my shopping for home and holiday and birthdays is complete!  I think the finishing touch was getting new flowers for my great grandmother's Mother Mary statue and I clipped and set them this morning before work.  It so needed it after 50 plus years.

I also made the last transfer from my savings account to pay for all of it this morning.  My paychecks will now mean something again.  I hate having everything all hit in two months plus the insurance bills come due now too.  Smiley Sad

I have my two sisters coming in an RV from Colorado late tonight.  I am not sure where they are parking an RV.  We are all going to wait for the HOA letter.

This is my first Thanksgiving back with the family since the disaster that 2016 was.  Hopefully everyone will have better behavior this time around.  They started up again about a certain topic Saturday night and I stayed home all day Sunday and regrouped and shopped online to prep myself.  They were better when we all went out again all day yesterday.

Oh yeah this is an exercise thread.  So you never know what you are going to get around the holidays.  Either it's a ghost town or packed.  Today it was a ghost town but not bad.

Nudie and I represented the regulars and we did have some new people or people who don't usually stay.  Pound was first and my abs were screaming but I got through it.  No Christmas music yet.

Then came Power.  Since I will be missing Thursday (no classes held that day) I decided to do all increased weight factor and I did on everything except a couple routines.  I was an honest workout queen!

At the end, the instructor threatened to hold a bootcamp outside of Best Buy during the holiday so we could keep up our routines.  Not sure there were any takers and at the end she encouraged all of us to really take the day and enjoy ourselves.  Unless we had to escape an in-law or bad family member then the gym will be open certain hours over the holiday.  LOL

Formal workouts done for a week!  I have to make pumpkin pie probably tomorrow.  I hope everyone enjoys their holiday.  We'll get back at it next week!

Oh and I am possibly going to look at buying another tracker.  I really do like having one but between losing one within months because it wasn't secure in its case and then having the nicer one break in less than two years, I am kind of over donating to the brand name.  We'll see.  I think Target may be selling the Alta at a very cheap price.  I guess if mine needed to go, it picked the right time of the year to do it.

Happy Tuesday all!
