Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Check In

Hey all, busy here today too and no workout.. Back is still kinked but better each day. Had planned on working out until my son called and said my GD had a dentist appointment that neither he nor his wife could bring her to. So she came here early this morning, stayed until her apt. I took her to the apt. and back to my house and she was here until about 4 pm..then dinner started and it just didn't get done.

nomless you do what you can...don't stress over it..

Pppmint glad you made it home and you can sleep in your own bed. How is the sciatica? I think the yoga stretching really helps...did Lucy do OK? Thanks for asking about my back.

Didn't realize it's this late....I have to get to bed....

Waving to everyone...sorry that I haven't mentioned everyone but I did catch up on the thread..

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Check In

Hi, all. Busy day, so I did about 4 miles of walking/jogging to decompress when I got home. Felt soooooo good!! Bopper, I hope your back gets better. Backs being messed up are second only to teeth! Lol! Take it easy and be careful picking things up, turning, twisting, etc. I know, you know all this. Smiley Wink ok, I am going to watch some basketball and hit the hay!!

Hi! Did the treadmill 2.75 mi./33 min. I didn't feel like it - tired and thirrrrrrrsty and had to stop a couple of times for water. Mntbikegrl - I just started stretching before workouts this week since the shin splint debacle (I used to when I trail ran...), and don't stretch afterward, but instead do housecleaning, etc. as a cool down...works for me...

Patty ~ I love INC...haven't bought anything in awhile...my fav store the last couple of years has been WHBM....you've got great taste!

Wishing everyone a happy day!

I LOVE WHBM...I've shopped there for years! I just remembered I bought a new outfit there when we were in Annapolis over a year ago and I haven't even worn it yet.{#emotions_dlg.unsure}

HW...yes! I love getting good deals.

I think I might have felt an earthquake tonight! Said there was one outside of Richmond and I asked dh if he turned on the vibration to our bed and he said no...so I asked if Lucy was scratching and he said no...I said, "Well I feel the bed vibrating or something". About 10 minutes later they broke in and said there was a small earthquake outside of Richmond. Not sure if I could feel it up here or not but it's funny that had just happened.

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Check In

Hi ALL! Did my usual cardio routine at the gym today; except, I did biceps/triceps, deltoids, pectorals and trapezius muscles/machines. Made sure to stretchWink

Bopper: I think I attracted every bird in the world other than Orioles with my orange slices/jelly-lol!{#emotions_dlg.blushing} It sounded like a choir in my backyard yesterday. It was beautiful, but where are my Orioles...I love those birds. I won't give up. I'm going to try again. I left it out there, so for all I know some little critter came and ate it during the night.

It's pouring rain here, and feels exceptionally humid. I took a watered down Gatorade w/ tons of ice in it today instead of plain water. My sodium was a little low during my last blood work up. I was told to drink Gatorade to replace electrolytes and sodium.

Have a great day. Hopefully the sun is shining where you are. Keep hydrated!{#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Check In

Morning, well I am finally working out after 5 days of missing with my kinked back/side. It's still not 100% but it's better enough that i was able to do my Total Gym for about 50 minutes today and then did a 1 minute plank, some squats, shoulder raises and used the TG glide board as an inverted slant board and did some chest flies and shoulder presses..

Was thinking of biking but it's very windy out and it's a cold North wind so not doing that..Probably did enough for just starting back up.

Mtnbikegirl I have lots of Orioles now. It took a couple years though for them to be here consistently. Id' have a few and then they seemed to move on but I have oranges out and grape jelly set on red lids and then I have a necter Oriole feeder out too. They also gravitate to my hummingbird feeder which they can't fit their beaks into. It's fun to watch them... MY GD loved looking at all my colorful birds. Orioles take a while to come, so be patient and my Grosbeaks love the jelly also. I am worried about the ants coming out soon though so will have to move it off the deck.

Pppmint never dull at your house...Earthquake...holy moly...........

FUTURE thanks,,,Yes I agree, teeth are second and I just had a dentist apt. on Monday so glad that is over...good for another 6 months. Glad you got a walk in to decompress it does help.

Nomless I sure hope your schedule slows down some so you can get a workout in but don't stress over it because it will happen when you can do it. Just take it a day at a time. Are you still doing the 21 day fix eating plan?

MickD are you on the treadmill today? How is the foot?

Gazillee glad to see you here too..which workout today?

Tony- almost the weekend..hope you have it off and it's the Holiday weekend too.

OK, need to shower and vacuum...have a great day!

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Check In

Swinging by! We're going a short CrossFit work-out right now after a run outside. Dh started doing a CF work-out so I joined in even though I'm sore from the past 2 days, just try to work around it.Wink

I already got a lot done today and still need to get groceries but we're going to take the bikes out for a ride. DH wasn't feeling well when we were jogging so I'm wondering if it was the heat...guess we'll find out! {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

mtnbikegirl...we do the watered down Gatorade also...especially for anything over an hour where you're dripping in sweat. It really does help.

Okay...he's off the phone so we're ready to roll...literally. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Waving to everyone!

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Check In

Hi All! Bopper- glad you are getting back to it! It should be my weekend off but I am working Saturday as a favor. No way Sunday tho, with Daytona 500 and Cocacola 600! Glad to see your Tigers doing well. The Red Sox are not! Every time I see the visit Michigan commercial I think of you. Patty- the good think about packing is getting rid of a lot of unnecessary stuff. Nomless-the workouts will be waiting! Judy- your plan should work. Structure keeps us in line. Future good luck with your new life plan. Mtnbikegirl-I live in a rural area with lots of woods and fields. The ticks just take the fun out of them. Lyme disease has spread this way. I do get to see lots of wildlife in my yard. Mick- it must be frustrating to have to worry about your foot all of the time. I have gone back to chalean workouts and throwing in T 25. I just wish the junk food would stop calling me. Off to iron!

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Check In

Tired.....didn't do a workout today..even though it is mid 60's and overcast.... O/T didn't get ""flo"" this month.....menopause (I'm 47)? or maybe due to exercise and extreme heat last week...When I was an avid runner would get flo every 60-90 days.....interesting......just bloated now......yuck! I will get back at it tomorrow......Wishing everyone a happy pain free day!

Re: Welcome to the May Exercise Check In

We had such a good work-out this morning, I loved it even though it was hard! I am still shaking and having trouble typing.

We did 4 miles but did the bars at the Fit Trail...pull-ups, dips(ouch on shoulders), push-ups, and we flipped the big tires. Good, old-fashioned, basic exercises but hard-core...just my style!{#emotions_dlg.thumbup1} Stopped at Panera for Iced Tea. Dh is out running again and I'm cleaning up a storm.

Hope everyone feels better!! Sun is shining here and humidity is down, nothing like yesterday!

p.s. We stayed up and watched that new Kevin Costner movie, can't remember the name....didn't like it all...weird! Save your money!

Have a great day everyone...love seeing new people here!
