Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

Hi and Happy Friday!   I did the xbike this morning and the Total Gym, 5 miles of walking outside with dogs.   First I took Logan and then went back to take Rusty who I am dog sitting for.   We have warmed up to the mid 30's so that's really nice for us with the sun shining.

Nice to see so many posts and talk of gadgets!   My hubby tried the Back Joy and it didn't do anything for him but he isn't consistent with anything either so can hardly base anything from him .

I have my Granddaughter coming over after school and I"ll have her until about 10 pm unless she decides she wants to sleep here but she's already getting to the age where she would rather either be at her own house or at a friends house.  The new baby is a month old already and she still has some jaundice so my DIL is still nursing her every 2 hours until this goes away.

Well I better get some things done here before my GD gets here!

Be well everyone!

Laura, that stinks that Target with won't match the online price.

Hi, Daisy, it sounds like your Fitbit is keeping you on track.

Lucy, thank goodness some things are done, right?  Good wishes for the next things on your to-do list.  Lucy will love her walks.

Hi, Bopper, have fun with DGD and puppy today.  You can all have a fun walk together.

They're doing more painting in the workout room today.  Dang!  I thought they were done.  I did 5 hours of errands today, ran all over town.  Kind of boring, but a bunch of things are out of the way for a while.

Happy Friday!

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

We survived the trip from H e double hockey-sticks.  A car-sick cat is the worst.  Threw her in the tub when we got here to get all the diarrhea and puke off of her....scrubbed and scrubbed but couldn't get the smell out of her.

And our night wasn't much better.  One of these nights I keep thinking I'm going to crash and sleep like a log...one of these nights.  It was a circus in here, cats flying from one piece of furniture to the other, Lucy barking and growling at them, us yelling at them to keep them quiet....total chaos.  We're a Traveling Freak Show.  Smiley Tongue Smiley LOL

Looks like dh is going to London...ugh.  So I'll be setting up the house by myself and he'll have to travel on the heels of all of this crazy.  It's no wonder we look like we're 80 lately.

Getting ready to go look at our new house and check-out the neighborhood.  Oh!  My gf called me last night after her CF competition....she made it to the last round, did REALLY well!  I'm so proud of her.  Her kids were there too so that was nice.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

Yay for your gf doing so well in CF, Patty.  Very cool.

You and the furkids had a wild day for sure.  I know kitties and a bath don't mix, so that was an ordeal in itself.  I hope you have fun looking at the new house today, and I hope you can get some rest tonight.  Hugs.

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

Good Saturday Morning to everyone!

My goodness @bopper you must be the most fit strong woman ever! I am so impressed with you walking 5 miles AND working out all in the same day. Just amazing!

This week I have been getting in my walk but walking painfully slow. I seem to only be able to do about 45- 50 minutes max at this time. Hills are so hard for me.  I have a lot of discomfort.  It is muscular aching and involves my thighs, hips and buttocks.  I believe it is related to my gait.  I am going to have a gait Analysis done here  soon  to get help  on walking properly. With the years of walking with arthritis and limping etc...  and then having all my joints replaced... my body is not walking correctly and needs to be retrained in how to walk and use muscles properly.  It is a muscular issue and posture issue.

Wishing you all a great weekend!  Love reading your posts. You inspire me so!

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

Morning all,  fresh snow fell her last night, it's very pretty but I am over it for this winter!  This week though sounds like it will be in the 40's so I'll more than take it!

Just did 10 miles on the bike and will do dog walks and weights.

Patty I just read your post from earlier this morning, it was a circus in that room...good grief....I can't help chuckle imagining Lucy growling at the cats, and them bounding all over the room..I hope your day looking at the house goes good for you .

I have Evine Live on, some cute fashions.  I have never ordered from there.

Oh we got our car back, simple fix.   The battery terminals were badly corroded.  Hubby said we put a new battery in it 6 months ago and it's hard to see the terminals under the hood, or something of that effect.   So only 37$.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

Yay, Bopper, so happy the fix was easy and inexpensive.  What a relief.

Seamaiden, I had both my hips replaced 10 years ago, so I'm familiar with what you're talking about re: gait issues.  You had knee issues, too, IIRC, which I have not had. Prolonged years of pain prior to getting things fixed disrupts normal gait and muscles weaken, and it takes work and attention to get things back to normal.  I'd be interested in hearing about your gait analysis and recommendations afterwards.  I hope you'll post an update.

Did my hiking this morning.  Had the trails all to myself the whole way.  That has never happened.  As an introvert, loved it!  Just me and the squirrels.

They bought more mulch and had workers spreading it around again in the woods. I took a pic and maybe I'll throw it up at some point. I'm not sure the new mulch looks much different from the dirt and pine needles it is covering especially after rain and sleet.  Glad my pennies are hard at work.  The late night comedians would have a field day.

@Iluvlucy  You had me laughing at the traveling freak show.  I know it's not that bad.  I'm sorry you're going to be by yourself but it sounds like the end is in sight.

@bopper  Yay for easy fixes!  And cheap.

@SeaMaiden  Hang in there.  You are doing wonderful!  I am limping along with you and I resist the urge to trip the runners everytime I go out.  Smiley Wink

@nomless  Waving hi!  I may go to Target at some point this weekend and threaten in person.  If I'm not in jail, I'll let you know how it went.

So I did a stupid thing and came across a youtube video at work yesterday for people who have a herniated disc and can't sleep.  Here is your laugh for the day.  This chiropractor (and I am now suspicious) says to sleep on the floor and then shows some pillow options too.  That will help support at night so you can sleep.

The idiot typing this decided it was Friday night and why not try it?  So the idiot did.  Does NOT work.  Did the pillow thing all the different variations while sleeping on the floor.  After waking up every hour because my shoulders killed me now too, I gave up and went back to my bed around 2am.  Slept a straight three hours until I woke up.  I really worry about myself some times....

Laura, your posts are hilarious.  Keep 'em coming.  Sorry you had a bad night, but now you know the floor is not an answer.  Sorry it hurt to give it a try.

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

@nomless  I'm just suffering so the rest of you don't have to.

But the angels obviously smiled on me and felt I have had enough.  Went to Target in person and they had the ONE on clearance for five bucks more.  Five bucks I'll cough up and did.  Now I'm currently trying to figure out how to set it up.  My new challenge of the day.  Smiley Very Happy

Also found a back and body powder at the store so we'll see how that does tonight in my bed along with the ONE if I ever get it up and running.  Pray for me.  Smiley Tongue
