Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

Well, I escaped the snow--mostly got rain, which I will take.  We're supposed to get another "more powerful" storm Friday into Saturday, so may get some snow then. Boo.

I don't know if I will get to the gym today--it is my regular Quick Fit (boot camp style) 30 minute work out, but I have a conference call right before I have to head out, so may take a rest day.

Still practicing my new Zumba song to have ready by next Thursday.  It's kind of complicated, so I want to make sure I get it right before I get up in front of the class.  Several women who are in the class with me have come up to me and asked if I am teaching this week and that they like the songs I've done so far.  That made me really happy because they don't like ANY other Zumba teacher!

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

Happy Wednesday, it was sunny but it's gone.  Much colder than yesterday.  I got my groceries and errands done this morning, came home and did Pilates and just walked Logan.

My son and DIL are still keeping us in the dark about the gender of this baby, those little stinkers.   Now we know they had their appt. already and are done with it and I sit here watching the clock tick tock tick tock, and I get a text saying we will FaceTime you tonight .  They said they don't even know, they were holding an envelope in their hands and said they wanted to do it in a certain way tonight while they also have her family over for the big news.  I've been waiting for a long long time and still waiting..................  Patience grasshopper  LOL   All her blood work is good, heart beat was good so now it's just the wait......until tonight~    My older son says  "Drama"  LOL  They are so opposite  Hahah

Dr.Kelli i know you'll do great in your Zumba class and its nice to hear people are talking a liking ot you and your choice of songs.

Lucy we will miss you even if you think we won't, we will.   Hoping DH is recovering from his procedure and the biopsy comes back good.  I imagine DS is busy with work and studying and DIL with her job and travel.   I hope you get your orders pretty soon so you know what's going on.

Thank  you  again on the BareTraps, I notice they have several sandals but not all of them said rebound technology, you are referring to the rebound technology right not the others ones I saw on the site.  As you know I need the 11 .   The ones I saw were 59$ and the other ones without the rebound tech. were 29$.   I wondered if the 29$ ones were comfortable.

You probably won't see this but if you do.

Nomless how is the week going.

MickD, are you still sore from the trail run?   I just came from the trail and it's so icy, and Logan was pulling on his leash and I almost fell on a slight hill, had to grab a tree.  He gets all worked up at squirrels and crows, and there were lots of crows flying over.

foxxie hope you are doing good today!

Well better do a few things and get the stuf out of the dryer.   I'll let you all know what we're having when we know!

Yes, doing fine, @bopper.  How is everyone today.  My feet were overdue for a good pedicure so I made that my focus this morning.  I can't maneuver and give my feet the attention that they need like I used to.  She gave me a good leg and massage as well as making my feet nice and smooth.  In the inter, I go bout once a month, more often in the summer.

The last time I got a pedicure, I thought my toe polish was bone dry so I went to the center for a walk  and my polish got smeared. The tech must have put the polish on too thick therefore it needed longer to get bone dry.  This time I waited a whole half hour.

I joined the Red Hat Society this afternoon.  Tried last night but th site had some issues.  I don't know where this is going but....I need more socializing.

I did some in place walking in my kitchen with someleg kicks and arm movements thrown in for good measure.  As long as I got my 10,000 activity points, I'm ok.  Yesterday, I did almost 20,000.

Morning.  Glad it missed you then Dr. Kelli.  WY, Vermont, and NH all are getting over 2 feet of snow again.  I'd rather have that than all this rain...tomorrow is another wash-out. Nice you are getting such positive reinforcement on your Zumba instructing!

Haha bopper...I can see your son saying that.  It's the times we live in thanks to Pinterest...it's made things such a bigger deal than they once were...with all kinds of clever ways to reveal/announce everything. I'm sure it was fun nonetheless. Yes, only the Rebound ones are the soft, mushy ones.  I even jogged in mine last night.  All those tippy-toe plies and squats in Barre are bothering my tendonitis again.

Also, Cobian flip-flops are the super cushy, squishy kind too.  More so than any other brand I've found.  They really help my tendonitis.

Mssfoxxie...I need a pedicure too but stopped all polish with this disease...and make-up.  Everything and anything can put you into a flare.  I've been thinking about trying a pedi again.  How is your husband doing on the diet?  I don't do activiity points, my steps are all walking/running but I'm always high.  I don't even know how to add in my work-outs but should try one day just to see where I would be.

Yesterday was a whirlwind, I did 5 outside by myself, then went to the gym and did Barre class and weights, ran some errands, met DH for a late lunch after his appt since we were in the same area, then came home and we did another 3-miles outside and yardwork.  DH's back is killing him this morning.

Meeting my gf to power-walk then going to PIYO...will stop and get some groceries again.  Gym was packed and HOT yestesrday...I mean so hot I almost left.  We did a lot of push-ups and lunges...I hurt my shoulder doing the push-ups(also shoulder-press doing weights) then my foot hurt with the lunges and all the tip-toe squats.  Waahhh! Smiley Tongue

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

Good Morning all, Well Drum Roll Please:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::   ITS A BOY!  Smiley Happy

Oh it was so funny, they had people over and were in the backyard and my son is about to hit a golf ball, ( he loves to golf) so if he hits a ball and it sprays pink dust everywhere it's a girl, it if sprays blue dust everywhere its a boy, and blue dust it was!  I could see their reaction, tears and more tears and screaming  Hahaha    They did confirm it with their envelope though.   Apparently the dr. took the golf balls and gave him the correct one so he know it was right but I wanted to see the envelope and it was correct so end of September or beginning of October we will be our brand new grandson.  The name lives on  LOL...so anyways not sure who is really interested but we're excited.  Lucy you are so right, my dad being 89 was like 'why do they want to find out, we never did that'...  I tried to explain to him it's just so much easier to plan but there are still people who don't want to know and that's okay too.

Thank you about those other sandles too, and I'm glad you mentioned the rebound ones were the cushy ones.  I'm going to order some.  I still don't have my book!   Can you believe that, still waiting and it says its on its way!

Going to do Pilates and treadmill today, it's cloudy and only going to be high of 35.  Lots of people here with colds, I hope April gets rid of all this sickness going around.

Have a good day everyone!

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

Good morning, my cyberfriends.  Wow...woke up this morning to the thunder and lightning you all were talking about.  I'm hopeful that we get a break from it off and on so that flooding doesn't happen.

@Iluvlucy, I worry that you and your husband are doing too much physically.  Or am I jealous because I can't do it, lol.  I just marvel at you strength?

@bopper, this is fun the way they are your kids are making you wait.  Memories are being made.

Oh, @Iluvlucy, when I say activity points, I meant that I'm not actually doing steps but I'm active.  Sometimes at my health center, we do almost a whole class doing chair exercises and there is real sweating going on.   I haven't even tried to learn my Fitbit to the fullest.  I don't input extra info like water intake, etc.

Hmmm, do I go out today or not.  I'll see how the weather goes.  Have a good day ladies.

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

Bopper, how cool that the kids wanted to wait and include both sets of grands in the reveal, a happy surprise for all. What fun.

DrKelli, it's great that your classes are so well received. Good for you.

Hi, Foxxie. I think you wrote you got in 20k steps...yay! Good job.

Lucy, you mentioned going to PIYO. Is that Chalene's PIYO? What do you think of It? I sometimes get tempted to buy the dvds.

It rained all day yesterday and will rain today. Things are starting to get green here. I think spring is here, yay.

No news here. I spent yesterday doing computer stuff...updating some files, installing upgrades, virus scanning, etc. Did some reading the in afternoon. Finally got my taxes filed, too. Glad that's off my mind. Work this afternoon. Someone was out sick a couple of days, and we got way behind ... books overflowing everywhere. It takes awhile to catch up and losing an aide even for a day creates a big backlog. It's good to know that libraries and books are still relevant in today's electronic world.

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

Hi, @nomless, Our posts overlapped each other, lol.

Books....I hope they will always be revelant.  Although I have a lot of books to read in Kindle on my iPad, it's not the same as a book in my hand.  I'm concerned, though, tthat kids coming up won't appreciate books the same as we do.  Even in schools now, books are being replaced by computers and iPads.  Schools that are able,  supply each child with an iPad to be considered their own.  I admit I does cut down on clutter.  Sad but as we advance in  technology, we lose our past.

Re: Welcome to the March Exercise Thread

Hey, everyone!

I love the reveal for your new grandson!  I've seen some very clever ones done and I love the golf ball idea!

We are expecting a huge storm Friday night and all day Saturday.  Initial predictions are 4-8 inches of snow, subject to change of course.  I don't have anything on my schedule and I went to the grocery store last weekend, so I can spend all day Saturday catching up on my DVR and reading.  And a nap. Most importantly, a nap.

They offer a PIYO class at my gym, but I've never taken in because plyometrics and my bad ankle don't play well together.

I am also a voracious reader and use both books and my Kindle.  I use my Kindle at work primarily because when I am eating lunch, it is easier to deal with.  I like the kindle app on my ipad too for travel because books weigh a lot.  Although I did schlep 5 books with me on vacation to give to my mom when I was done.  I finished 3 of them, including Stephen King's 11/23/63, which is almost 1000 pages.

Today's class is Zumba--my favorite day of the week because it is the "easiest" workout I do.  I'm going to do a practice run of the new song I learned.  Some of the people show up early and are gracious enough to practice with me.

I hope you all have a great day.

@Iluvlucy I hope your DH heals quickly from the biopsy....and sending both you and him healing thoughts!  I need to ween myself from Judith - I bought two tsv's and before that two love bracelets

@nomless @DrKelli @Mmsfoxxie and everyone - wishing you a great Thursday!
