Thanks to all of you for your kind words and good thoughts for my kitty. Thank you.

Good news from the vet was a surprise. All of the blood results are normal. But the down side is that means there is no clue why he's lost about 15% body weight. Could be age, could be he doesn't eat enough, or maybe something more serious. I'll weigh him periodically and keep an eye on it. For now, nothing to be done.

I'm relieved, sort of, but still concerned.

DrKelli, I'm sorry about your loss of Ed. Cool there was good buzz about your class last week. 😊

@nomless - your vet may have already brought this up but thought I'd mention it.  When my older cats were losing weight but everything seemed fine, including a dental check, my vet suggested changing the wet food and heating it ever so slightly.  Apparently, as cats age they lose their sense of smell and heating their wet food just a bit, helps them to smell it and then get hungry and eat. 

Anything to help our fur babies!

Judy, thanks for that tip. Fortunately, Shadow eagerly eats the wet food I give him 3 times a day and he goes for the kibble about every two hours. I can't make him eat more kibble, but I will increase the amount of wet food I give him.

Good Thursday morning, I am about to do my reformer but wanted to check in first as I don't want to forget.  Going to lunch with a friend and then visiting a neighbor who is in the hospital.   Thunderstorms are in the forecast today but in between the sun may come out.

Nomless I hope Shadow is better today, sounds like a sweetie for sure!

My neighbors are cutting down trees in their front yard and for the last day and a half all I hear is beeping from their machine the workers are using as it back up.....I hope they are done soon, it's starting to drive me nuts !    Then the chain saws start up,,,,LOL

I had an eye doc appt. this morning.....hadn't been for 4 years. Eyes are ok, thank goodness, but I should get new glasses with a new correction. That's ok, I've been wanting a spare anyway. Stopped in at the associated eyeglass place...prices have gone up a lot since I last got glasses. But they did have lots of frames I liked. In the past, I've gotten glasses at one of the mall stores, but this time may try the independent I checked out today. They cost more, but I think the lens quality might be better, so might as well give them a try. They do offer a 40% discount on a second pair, so I might do that, too.

the price of glasses is ridiculous!  I wear them to drive in the dark (I had lasik surgery almost 20 years ago and have 20/20 vision) just to fine tune things.  I could probably drive without them, but I am just more comfortable with the extra tweak it gives my sight in the dark.

Today is Zumba day.  Our regular instructor is back (Yay--no nerves for me today!) and after that I am making a presentation at our plant manager's meeting.  I told one of them that I would be extra sweaty when I got back and that they shouldn't ask any questions.

My title change at work just became official.  I was Safety Coordinator when I was hired and today, I became Safety Manager (which I should have been all along, but long story and I was happy with my original title).

@nomless I am glad your sweet Shadow had unremarkable blood work.  I have had a couple cats that were so so special to me.  Now I have a dog that is my sweet fur baby...when he goes ...don't even wanna think about it.

@bopper Our trails can get mucky too...not fun and dangerous too.

@DrKelli Yay for the job title change...woohoo!

@JudyL You are gonna love the Victoria series.  I wanted it to go on and on!

Oh ya....did 2.75 mi/33.30 min on the treadmill. My dentist noticed my weight loss so that made my day yesterday.  I need a small cavity filled though.

Good morning everyone.  I had a great time at the Michigan resort but I'm glad to be back.  The weather was fine on Tuesday when we arrived, so we walked around the resort and watched the boats/yachts which made a beautiful picture from my room.  Unfortunately, Wednesday was cold but we did the casino and the buffet lunch.  Lots of chatting and getting to know people.  One lady was 96 years old and was quick to tell you she didn't need any help.

When we got back from the casino, we had an hour or so before we had a pajama party.  I had to get 69 years old for my first pj party, lol.  We had games going on and did karaoke (?) singing.  Let me just say that there were no budding singers among us, lol.  There was more food and I ate some more.  I had a great time acting silly.

Thursday, we left the resort for home but we stopped at a wine and cheese tasting.  I didn't participate in the official wine tasting because it would have been too much wine for me considering I was full of Dramamine which already had me sleepy.  But I did sip three.  There were some ladies that packed down the five offered tastings which was about a fourth of a wine glass each.  One was on a walker and it didn't seem to affect her, lol.

Today, I'm tired.  No workout today.  Not because of the trip itself but that Dramamine.  Taking it for three days straight has me really tired today.  I notice that the minimum dosage doesn't work for me anymore...have to take the maximum amount for it to work.  But that's my cost for not getting sick from the bus ride.  Next trip I take, I think I will go to the doctor and get a prescription for a patch.  My sister does that and she doesn't get sick or sleepy.

@nomless, I hope Shadow gets better.  Hopefully, the weight lost is just age related.  Congratulations on your promotion @DrKelli.  And congrats on your weigh loss @MickD.  I'm jealous, lol.

@Mmsfoxxie, there is a 24 hour dramamine that is a nondrowsy formula.  That's what I take when I go on a cruise.  The patch has one really awful side effect--you get dry mouth that is so bad it is hard to eat.  At least that is what it does to me.

When I was going to Jackson, MS with the Sweet Potato Queen activities--I used to go down to breakfast in my pajamas!  One of the big events was PJ and Pearls, which was the Saturday night event.  There was a great band and we all wore pajamas so we could dance until we dropped and then go up to our hotel rooms and crash and then there was the Sunday Bathrobe Brunch, just get up, throw a bathrobe on and go to brunch.  It was awesome.

I'm glad you had a good time! 

No exercise for me today--there is a mandatory training at lunch. My trainer is out of town anyway, so it worked out okay.

Happy Friday!  I woke up at 4, didn't go back to sleep and got up at 5:30.   Walked early and did Pilates.  Neighbors are still cutting trees, backing up big bull dozers, beeping, crashing, pounding...chain saws... I hope they finish pretty soon.  I wonder if they will work on the weekend, I hope not, some quiet would be nice!

Foxxie wow what a wonderful trip you had and met so many nice ladies.  I think it sounds fabulous.  Glad your home safe and sound, takes a while to get back to a normal routine. 

DrKelli congratulation on your new title, sounds like it was a long time coming, have fun at lunch training today.

nomless glad Shadow's blood work came back good.  How is he today?   Good on the eye dr. check too.  I just wear the cheapie store readers.  I wish we had coverage to go to the eye dr.   My sister said she has floaters, but they told her that's very common.

Hi Judy, hope your Friday is going well for you.

MickD I have to wear tall slogger boots to go on the trail, there is no place to even cut through without wearing them.  Yes it does get dangerous and slippery.   Nice the dentist noticed your weight loss, that's a nice compliment!

Lucy hope your doing okay.  I know you're very busy right now.  Lots coming down the pipe for you guys but all good!
