Okay I have decided to get myself back in gear.
I went over the gym classes again and I am going to do my cycling on Monday.
Get back to Power on Tuesday and there is a short Pound class right before so I'll hit that too.
Thursday I keep the short Ride class.
Keep hiking on the weekends.
With the addition of Tuesday classes again, I should be feeling better. I feel like I've been getting too lazy lately. There is also an Active class which is a step/power/centergy combo on Sunday which I also might take. I also want to take out my dvds and follow Bopper's lead to switch it up. My body needs a shake up.
Friday!! Hope everyone has a short work day or gets to the fun quicker than you did last week! ![]()

Happy Friday, I had a good one today. Did level 3 of the Shred first and then rode my bike outside 11 miles. Along the lakeshore and the water was like glass and glistening with sunshine, very peaceful but then I had to head home and it seemed all uphill and of course every direction I went I felt I was going against the wind, that's a given hahha....Now pooped and sitting a bit....
Laura that's a good plan you have there, keep it up, I really think changing it up is key. When this level of Shred is done i think I'll switch it up to No More Trouble Zones, and Ripped in 30 along with my walks and biking. If I see no change then so be it, I know inside it is helping..I've accepted I don't get any changes but I do feel strong and in control!
Nomless how are you feeling today, I hope better and I'm glad it's Friday for you! There is an antique auto show here on Sunday (Fathers Day) and hubby and i are going. Supposed to be quite warm so I hope we find some shade. My daddy is going with his gf too so I plan on meeting up with them.
Judy are you feeling better? Hoping the weekend brings you rest and comfort and laughter along with active movement!
Ok kidos I have to eat something! Have a super day!

Cardio done, only 1 session today. No weights though.
Laura, sounds like you have a plan. Don't stress your back.
Bopper, you're doing great with Shred. Good job. Your dad has a gf? That's so cool. I hope it's not too not on Sunday. Your dad must be doing ok...I'm so glad.

Hi Everyone! My lantern has been delivered so will let you know what I think of it when I get home. Elbow was bothering me a bit after work last night so didn't work out this morning. If nothing else, will go for walks this weekend.
Hope everyone has had a good Friday, almost time to go home!

Mowed the lawn and went hiking for 3 hours today. I might try Active class tomorrow.

Cardio done. Now watching Pilates Pro chair presentation. Love Susan Lucci, she's a doll. I'm resisting buying the chair, though.
Judy, do you like your lantern?
Laura, yea, it's the weekend. Good job getting a walk in.
Bopper, enjoy the day with your dad tomorrow.

Nomless - I do like my lantern. It is perfect for my small kitchen table and the color goes great in my ktichen - which is yellow and blue. So sorry yours didn't work for you.

Judy, yea that your lantern works in the space ... I bet it's cute in the kitchen. I love blue and yellow together. The lantern is a very nice, true yellow without being neon.
I did cardio and weights today. I had a good week ... more exercise than usual without overdoing it like I did last week.

I came across this very interesting article and video about he benefits of HIIT tabata cardio reading and super slow lifting for older adults. I've known about HIIT and have some HIIT DVDs but they're minimally useful to me because they're high impact which I can't do. This guy suggests doing HIIT on a recumbent for 15-20 minutes ( warm up 2-3 minutes, then do 8 circuits of 30 secs as fast as you can followed by 90 secs much slower). I'll also start doing my weights super slow (7-10 secs up, 4_5 secs down using a weight that exhausts your muscles after 4-6 reps). Interesting. He says working out this way provides more benefits and workouts can be much shorter. In fact, the weight training can be done only once a week.
I did some googling and found that studies vary re: the effectiveness of superslow lifting. Some say it's better, some say it's not. Since I get discouraged because despite all my workouts, I never see any change, I'm going to try HIIT on the recumbent and super slow lifting for a while.

Nomless - what is HIIT? I may have asked before but I've forgotten. What kind of workout it is?
