Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

I just ran out to do an errand and came upon a Crossfit studio about a mile from where I live. Hmmm.  I suspect it costs way more than I can afford, but I might stop in sometime and ask.  And see if they can work with someone with significant limitations.

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

@nomlessI have not heard of a Crossfit studio.  Worth checking it out for sure.  This is the lightest time at the gym so you may be able to score a deal too.  I watched Marie's second show from bed so I was right there with you!  Not even Rick could get me up and going.

I did my Ride class this morning.  I'm thinking about going again tomorrow morning and maybe doing the short Pound class and Power which I haven't done in forever but we'll see.  I think it probably won't happen and maybe I'll go walking instead.

Happy Monday all!

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Hey everyone, just me  Smiley Happy

Another shredding day and man o man I am so sick of level 2, but I don't quit or throw in the towel, I will do the 10 days and move on to level 3.  Today was day 8 so almost there.  It's so hard for me, but I am committed, and I say that even without seeing any difference inch wise or pound wise so that's something in itself....

nomless if you check out the crossfit studio let us know, remember Patty was doing it and loved it even with all her injuries she managed.  I miss her and Lucy and sure hope everyone is alright.

Laura I watched some of Marie's bodygym shows too, and it is entertaining to say the least.  I have alwasy heard that losing weight is 80% eating and 20% exercising.  Anyone else hear that before?  Good job on the ride class and Pound, it's hard for all of us to be motivated sometimes, I know it is for me but I just do it.

It's cool here today upper 50's and it's very muggy.  I walked Logan on the trail and the bugs are out and chasing me, it was super muddy from all the rain too.

I'm sitting with a cup of vanilla coffee and a piece of Rhubarb bread and just taking a "5" ..

Judy you doing alright, are you feeling better?

Waving to everyone near and far!

@bopper  You go girl!

I have to say I agree with the eating vs. exercising.  I gave up sugar around Thanksgiving and lost almost 5-7 pounds right before Christmas in just those six weeks.  I pretty much have stuck to that and I have to say, I went from five to six gym classes a week down to three when I hurt myself since February (and some of those weeks no classes at all) and I have kept the weight off.

Granted I did start walking instead on the weekends but I know cleaning up my diet has made me look better all around.  I did it because of a health scare.  I have my 6 month follow up on Wednesday and I'm hoping they send me home with nothing but good news to prove you really are what you eat.

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Hi, all.  I'm not up to par today....a little off.  I thought about doing a workout, but I think today needs to be a rest day.  My body is telling me "don't do it" so I won't.

Laura, I hope your checkup this week goes well.  You've made good changes.

Hi, Bopper.  I miss Lucy, too.  I hope she and her family are doing well.  In terms of weight loss, I think nutrition means more than exercise, but as you know, exercise pays off in many ways.  Otherwise, we wouldn't be pushing through our workouts!  You're doing great with Shred.  Don't be discouraged by not seeing results.  It'seems paying off in ways you can'take see.

ANW tonight!

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Hi all, I just finished day 9 of Shred and let me tell you I hated every minute and it's not easier than it was on day 1, I own it and it is what it is, but I didn't quit and I am doing it.

Thanks nomless that's true, and I never quit, you all know that already.  I think after this is done I may do Ripped in 30, not sure  yet...I may alternate that with another one too and of course do my walking.

Sorry you aren't feeling up to par, I agree with the rest day.   Take it, you know what your body is telling you.

Laura good luck with your 6 month appt. and it's true about the diet.  I dont' eat a lot of sweets but there is sugar in everything it seems, even the fruit I eat has sugar, but I stay away from the refined granulated sugars if I can.

Dentist this afternoon, hate it with a passion but I go and tell myself it will be over very fast, which it will.

My GD had a softball game tonight so going to that, she's getting better for only being 10!

Going to make some lunch now, I hate eating before the dentist too because I think I'll have food in my teeth even though I brush and floss, I know dumb but I am hungry and can't wait until after the appt at 3:30, way to late for me.

Have a good day everyone!

Bopper, I hope the rental appt goes well.  Have fun at the game tonight.

My lantern arrived today, bit I haven't unpacked it yet.

I did 2 workouts today.  Got my Simmons DVDs too.

Did anyone watch Spartan last night after ANW?  It's a team competition over a 1-mile obstacle course.  Very tough!  I googled and found that Spartan races are real, this sport wasn't created just for TV.

I just posted something elsewhere.  I stand by what I said but I wouldn't be surprised if it gets me banned.  If I disappear, you'll know why.  Oh, well.

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

I'll probably return the lantern.  For the space I want to put it, it needs to be bigger and taller.  There was no way to know that prior to trying it.  The glass is scratched.  Sigh. The yellow color is good...it coordinates well with my other stuff.  But overall, it's  not right for the space.

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

@nomless  If you go I go too!  Smiley Happy  Bummer the lantern didn't work out.  They sure looked pretty.

@bopper  You shame us all with your workouts.  I hope the dentist went well.

Well, I breezed through my ultrasound this morning so hopefully that means that I won't hear any more bad news and my doctor calls and says, yep, it's just cysts.   I am seriously considering not doing my annual mammogram when it comes up again in December.  After two years of scares over nothing, I think I'm done for a while.

My back is also completely acting up again so I think I'm definitely going to skip tomorrow's ride class.  I'll do a double walk this weekend or at some point during the week to make up for it.  I tried the ab twists on my Bodygym last night and I think that may have done something again.  I'm pretty sure twisting is not helpful so that will stop right now.

Hope everyone has a great day!
