Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

@nomless  That RS set sounds really nice.  I may look that up myself.  I had some of his DVDs back in the day and I loved that Foodmover thing.  In fact, I just looked for it the other day and could not find it. Smiley Sad  I liked being able to log my water and food for the day.  Hopefully it will turn up at some point.

I honestly don't know why I stay either at my job.  Actually, I do.  It's just me so without a job, I go to zero income.  But I've got a good savings account and lots of plans.  I'm actually in the process of exploring becoming a pharmacy technician which would be much lower than I am paid now but I think a good stable job to have in the future.  We'll see.  Everything just kind of came to a head over the past few months both personally and professionally that I have let people use me and take advantage of me most of my life, especially my family.  That's stopping and it's my turn now even if I have to move away to do it and start over.

I woke up this morning for my Ride class and I was so tired I decided to blow it off.  I went back to sleep and woke up again.  This time I had about 15 minutes before it started and I felt a little better with a cat nap so I got myself up and went to the gym and did Ride.  I also got my push ups in this morning.   I'm kind of glad I did since I'm getting bored and need to find some other things to do.   You have me inspired with Shred so I think I'm going to look and see what excites me.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday.  Heart

@Laura14, there are a lot of Food movers on eBay.

I can sympathize with your feeling that your locked in your job.  I was in the same position for many years.  In my case, and possibly yours, finding another job wasn't feasible because of the salary cut I would incur.  Here, the trend is to start all new hires at the lowest pay rate.  Doesn't matter how much experience you have.  I couldn't afford the pay cut, so I had to stay at my job.  It sounds like that might be the case for you, too.  Nonetheless, I hope you can do some creative thinking about a way out.  Pharmacy tech sounds interesting.  I know how scary it is to think about change.  It's not easy.  So hugs for you.

Good for you for getting to Ride class. And push-ups.  You can chalk up today as a good day because you did something for you.  Woohoo!

@Laura14, thanks.  I'm lucky that I have a bit more flexibility now.  Although being with a job is a concern, it's not the disaster it would have been had it happened a few years ago. I do have to make an effort to not panic, though, I admit to that, LOL.  It'll all work out for me and for you, too, even though we can't yet see it.  Hang in there.  Smiley Happy

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Hi, I'm feeling bad for you Laura and I sure hope you can find something you truly enjoy and there are often ads for pharmacy techs here, I hope you can locate a job like that.  Your heart will know when it's time for a change, good to know you have a good savings and back up plans....It is terrible when family takes advantage of you, and they know they are doing it.  Time to say No, right...put yourself first and see where your heart leads.  Proud of you for going to your ride class, I didn't feel like Shredding this morning either but I did.

Nomless I used to have that food saver also.  I liked that ...Haven't seen RS in  a  long time.  I did see on the news a while back he is staying "hidden" so to speak but insists he's fine.

I got the TSV today, I have to try these lanterns.  I am a lantern freak LOL  I love them.  I hope I love this one and the candle works!

I really didn't feel like doing the dvd this morning, came close to bagging it but then I said NO, when you are tired maybe thats when the changes are going to start appearing so I did it...Better calorie burn than yesterday also so I did give it my all.  Then went for a 2 mile walk and am going to finish mowing the grass in the front yard.

70 degrees and sunny is a perfect day in my opinion.

Be well everyone!

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Hi Everyone!  Home from work today as I don't feel very well.  Slept most of the morning and do feel a tad better now.  Hope to go to work tomorrow.

Nomless and Bopper - I bought the TSV lantern too.  Ordered a yellow one.  I have a yellow and blue kitchen so will put it in there.  Liked the idea of putting things in the lantern for each season.

Laura - so sorry you are going through this difficult time.  I've been there and know how scary it can be.  Change and figuring out what you want to do is never easy nor is it a quick decision.  You will figure what is right for you and you'll know when the time is right also.  You are a strong person, you will find your way and things will be fine.

Nomless - I can't imagine looking for a new job.  I've been at my employer for 28 years.  I'd be scared to death to look for a new job, the process is so different now than it used to be.  I understand the panic and feel for you.  You will find something and will be fine.

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Judy, feel better.  Yes, job hunting is a lot different than it used to be. I got the yellow lantern, too.  I'm moving to yellow, orange and red in my decor.  The lantern is a great yellow.  On another thread, I read some are disappointed the top of the candle doesn't flow.  They have a point, so I might switch out the candle at some point.  Yellow lanterns are difficult to find, so I'm glad I snatched this one.

Bopper, what color lantern did you get?  Good job sticking with Shred.  Some days, you have to just grit your teeth and do it.....maybe even cheat a little, lol.

Two cardio workouts down, but no weights. I'm definitely feeling...I'm tired!

@JudyL  Feel better and thank you so much for your kind words!  Heart

@bopper  Thank you too.  I'm glad you got your workout in too.  I did some BG tonight so I think I still have some residual guilt from almost not going.

@nomless  Thanks for the heads up about ebay.  I found tons of foodmovers on there.  I may just purchase one and those DVDs you talked about.  They sound fun.  Keep going on those workouts girl!

I am very jealous you all got those lanterns.  They are gorgeous.  Maybe someday when I have my own place I'll get to be a big girl and decorate like that.  I hope you enjoy them.

Happy Friday!

First, I apologize for bringing my therapy session to the wellness thread.  I know we all have our moments of support but my apologies for derailing us from the purpose of the thread.

I did my pushups this morning and I'm getting better.  I can do all 50 in a row now.  Still not seeing much toning on my arms so I think I'm going to have to step it up. I don't think I'm going for pound tonight so instead I think I'm going to head to the park and maybe walk the short trail.  We'll see.  You have me scurrying to find some old DVDs that I may just yank out instead or pull up youtube.

Hope everyone has a great end to their week.

Re: Welcome to the June Exercise Thread

Hi everyone!  No work out for me today.  Am still in too much pain.  Although if I can I will do some lower body work later.  I've done something to my left elbow - think it's tendonitis actually and the pain in unbelievable.  Can't straighten out my elbow at all.  Been icing it and putting heat on it but no relief so will call the doctor this morning.  My fear is they may want to give me a cortisone shot and that scares me.  I"ve never had so many nerve type things go wrong with me!  It's frustrating and disheartening but hopefully this will be the last of it.

Have a good Friday!
