Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Hey all, I did 35 minutes with the BG and riding the Xbike.  Saturday I did 40 miles and yesterday 35 so it's getting a good ride.  It's been raining on and off amongst sunshine and high clouds so it's not a good day to be out walking, everything is soaked, its so humid my sunglass fogged up.

I have a pretty quiet life compared to most of you  but  like  quiet!!  Hahah

Judy enjoy your vacations sounds marvelous, sorry your back is acting up and your hip and hope the stretching helps.

Laura you are a Queen riding in a Limo, taking the world by storm!  Have a blast and don't get caught in the nazi sprinklers!!!

Nomless I cook for just the 2 of us but seems we have the same things over and over.  Hubby is kind of fussy and so I make the same things week after week, and it does get tiresome.  He doesn't even like experimenting with new things so makes it kind of hard.  Grocery prices are high everywhere, really have to watch where you put your money and watch your slips to be sure your not overcharged.  Those scanners mess up a lot.

Iluvlucy I sure hope you feel better, i know it's a long wait to get in and then it will be more waiting to have your test results back.   Then Lucy not feeling good and not knowing what is going on with her, your vacation that is already planned.  You may have to just reschedule it until you know what's going on.  I am not getting the medicine ball, I thought of that after I said it and very true.  Can't risk hurting it more...it is what it is and I can get through it, thank you.

Well it's not raining at the moment, so will take Logan outside for a little while, lots of smells with wet grass you know!  Hahah

Take care everyone!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

@JudyL  You'll get there!  I promise!  I am so excited for your trip.  Someone that's actually going to a vacation place!

@bopper  You make me feel like a slug.  The car guys finally called me today and I probaly won't have my car back until next week when I come back.  You make me miss my bike in Ride class.  Smiley Sad  They might have it to me by Wednesday afternoon but I'm still taking the limo!   At this point, the rainy day fund has done gone so let's cash it out in style!

@nomless and @KonaKat what's cooking?  Smiley Happy

BTW, I walked to get the mail at work today and the ESPN Body issue was there just waiting for me to look at chiseled athletes with no clothes.  Inspiration and a gift for all that I've suffered.  I hated to thumb through that issue, especially at work, but someone has to make sure where that type of publication should go to around here.....Smiley Wink

@Laura14

What's cooking? I'm about to throw 4 oz of lean ground beef on the George Foreman which I will eat without bun. Just top with salsa and add a side salad. I do very simple cooking which is why I enjoy eating out but making good choices. Dessert later this evening will likely be a protein shake which has 15g of protein for 100 calories.

I did 15 minutes of Leslie this morning and will do another 15 tonight for a total of 2 miles. I don't mind it once I have started but getting motivated to do the program is a real challenge.

Motivation? I have a new wirelwss laser printer which I will try to set up tomorrow morning. I just remembered that I need to print out verification of my car insurance  for this six months before I get caught without it.

@bopper

I used to love recumbant bikes. How do you like the xbike? How is assembly? The words "partial assembly" sometimes means "major assembly."

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Wow, so many posts today.  Fun to read but I'll never remember what I want to comment on.

Lucy, keep us posted about Lucy.  I hope she's ok.  If Hello Fresh seems like a good price, I can tell your grocery prices are higher than here.  And they are are high here.  Yikes!

Laura, a limo, oh, my.  Yep, go for it....travel in style.

Judy, take it easy and heal so you're in top top shape for your trip.

Bopper, how's your dad doing?  Do you have your dress and shoes figured out?

Hi, KonaKat.  Enjoy your evening.

I was busy today, so it became a rest day - no workout.

Looking forward to ANW tonight.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Hey all...what a miserable night I had.  Hives in my armpits even.  Not sure what i'm going to do, I can't live like this for over 2 more months.  My face and ears are all swollen...I would have to cancel if I had some place to be today...let alone not being able to sleep.  No way can I go on vacation looking like this.

Judy...hope you're feeling better...that stinks!  Set-backs are hard to swallow.

Laura....I still can't believe you go to Dubuque for vacation!  Too funny!  Enjoy your limo ride, we've only done that once..for the Inagural Ball.  I have a gf that would love to take you hiking...she's a Beach-body coach.  But I wouldn't want some stranger meeitng me either...lol.  That could be a looonnnnggg hike.

bopper...yeah, there's plenty other exercises that can get your heart-rate up as well as other weights to work the same muscles.  I did a lot of burpees yesterday and my heart-rate was really up there.  Glad you're liking your bike, it really can add up before you know it...I did over 50 one day just talking to my gf and I had already worked-out and showered and just sat down when she called and started peddling. She was hiking so it was fun.

nomless...we missed it!  I forgot all about it.  Yes, Lucy still loves going out but she doesn't like heat...so I have to take her for a mile or two(even been carrying her during that since she hasn't been feeling well) then bring her home and go back out myself...and she is not happy about that at all...lol.  DH and I took her out again last night(I take her in the a.m.)  but we carried her the entire way.  Well, we put her down a little on one of the shaded trails but I don't want her doing much until we know she's healthy.

Kona...we need a new printer too.  Keep saying that and never get one..don't think of it until we need it again.

I did shoulders, the Cathe Freidrich HIIT and some CrossFit yesterday...a few miles on foot and then biked Lucy too.  I held my handstand for quite a while and the crow pose...it's really helping with my balance.  Those handstands really work your arms and core...I can feel my back muscles while I'm doing it.

@Iluvlucy  A beach body coach?  I need one of those! I shall be hiking in Mines of Spain which is gorgeous so if I run into a bikini girl, I'll high five her for you.  Smiley Wink

@KonaKat  Sounds delicious!  I just did ground turkey and used most of it for tacos.  I did a few nights of it just by itself with sweet potatoes but I've been on a taco kick lately.  I'm over it now.  Looking forward to a car and some fresh fruit.  I haven't had any lately and I'm kind of over my salads too.  Time to switch it up again so I am looking for ideas.

@bopper and @nomless  Hey!  I'm jealous I can't keep up with you girls and all your workouts.  Smiley Happy

I actually had someone stop and offer me a ride this morning.  I almost felt like a working girl of a different kind but he was very nice.  I find it sad that walking to work or to the store on sidewalks is so foreign where I live.  Having said that, I'm sort of over the hills and especially the four way stop crossing and I want my car back.  I miss my Ride class and real food shopping.

Hope springs eternal that tomorrow is the day my car returns.  My garage is so empty.  If not, then it's limo city and then Hertz and my first stop at Hyvee!  LOL

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

@Laura14 I was reading an email from MyFitnessPal which had a link explaining why the Japanese are so healthy. Apparently, just a little over 3% of them are obese. Many of the foods that we take for granted are so expensive that they just don't eat them frequently. Instead of red meats, etc., they fill up on fish and soy items...and they stop before they feel full. In addition, vehicles are so expensve that walking is the norm instead of taking a car.

I was feeling a little out of it this morning, so I postponed the walking. In the meantime, a friend contacted me and talked long past the time I would have done it. I did get the printer set up, and will likely try the walking later today. I don't want to get out of the "habit" or recent motivation.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

It was so fun to read all the posts today.  Lucy, I don'the know how you stand it....hives are awful.   You poor girl.   I'm glad Lucy still enjoys her outdoor time.  Her spirit is still happy, even though she doesn't feel good.

Kona, Laura, Judy, Bopper....have a good day.

I did errands this morning and cardio when I got home.  Now will do some cleaning.   Every storage space I have is chocked full of stuff.  I need to do lots of sorting and purging.  I'm a packrat so purging stuff is a difficult task.
