Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Hi, @KonaKat.   I hate exercise, too!  But I know I hav3vto do it, so (most) days, I treat it as a job...just one of those things I have to do.  Welcome to our group.

Laura, enjoy your day.  Don't think about your car.

Bopper, you had a good bike ride.  You earned the family cook-out.  Have fun.

I did cardio and weights today.  Haven't done some reading today, just hanging out.

My lawn is a jungle so I will be walking behind the mower and trimmer today for my Independence workout.

Hope you all have more fun!  Smiley Happy

One mile of Leslie is done; it is a start. The rains have begun again, just what we need in our flood recovery efforts in WV.

@KonaKat More than a start. Good for you! And we'll take the rain down South. We need some.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

@KonaKat, Leslie is fun.  She makes the time go by fast. I'm so sorry about the WV flooding.  That was seriously bad.  I hope you're doing ok in your area.

Laura, I hope you're enjoying your long weekend.

Bopper, how was your cook-out yesterday?

I did my workout today.  Yea!  I thought seriously about taking the day off, but now I'm glad I didn't.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Did my 1.6 mile hike to work in 80 degree heat.  It's good we have a locker room here.  And I guess the Nazi heard me because the sprinklers were on the other side of the road this morning.  Good job!

I will be doing my 1.6 mile hike back at 5pm.  I can tell by the end of the week I may be that guy in the desert crawling on the sidewalk and begging for agua.  And I'll bet there won't be one darn sprinkler turned on either.    Loving my life right now!!

Hoep everyone had a great Fourth.  Smiley Happy

@Laura14, at least you have the luxury of getting a workout in during the course of your normal day.  Sounds good, right?  I bet it feels terrible.

Just got back from my derm appt. for a routine annual check...that I haven't done for 2 years.  I had identified about 6 spots for him to look at, including a little red area I first noticed on my nose a couple of weeks ago.  I thought it might be the beginning of a blemish.  It was the spot I was least concerned about, and by golly, it was the only spot that was precancerous.  He did the freezing thing and said it will be fine.  But that's a lesson to all.  Body checks are important, and don't ignore those little spots that you think are no big deal.  They might be something that need attention, and it is no big deal if you deal with them early on.

I'll go do my workout soon, I promise!

@nomless  So glad you're fine!  I have never had a skin check done.  Since I spent my childhood on the Jersey shore, probably a good thing to start doing.  And as for your workout, I walked 10,000 miles by noon yesterday just by mowing the lawn and baking bread so don't underestimate regular errands and housework.  It all counts!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Hi, the 4th has come and gone....It was very enjoyable here, weather was darn near perfect.  We went to our parade, My GD had a bake sale there and made 16$ so she was a happy camper, my new little 5 month old GD was all dressed up in her red, white, and blue Smiley Happy    Then we also took my 88 year old dad to a band concert at the harbor where they played all patriotic music and played all the Military songs and when your branch of service was playing, you stood up.  It was quite moving!  My dad is an Army veteran.

nomless so happy you will be alright!

Laura our grass is almost at the point of needing to be mowed again too.

KonaKat I love Leslie and she is an excellent place to start.  I walked this morning before it got too hot out, it's quite muggy too.  Our weather is usually on the chilly side. Sorry about your rain, we are in the very dry stage again here.

Waving to everyone!
