Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Hi, Bopper.  I hope you like the new color. It might take a while to dry because it's humid. My aunt had a pretty ceramic tree.  I saw ones I like better than the TSV on eBay. I like Basso's lighted sphere's and presents.  Especially the presents.  No place to put them though.

Hi, Mick.  Yay that you got in more exercise than you planned.  It makes me happy when I do that.  Glad you got out of the heat.  It's really hot here, too.

I did cardio today, no weights.

Laura, are you back to being a working girl?

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

@bopper - I got the tsv.  Green 14", white 14", and the set of two 7" in green.  Green for the kitchen. White in the master.  One small for a bathroom and the other in my son's room.  If I don't like I will return...they look cute though!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

@bopper  Your kitchen sounds beautiful!  I love red and all its shades.

@nomless  I made it.  The car service guy was calling me to pick me up while I was walking out of baggage claim.  We could get used to this if we were rich.

@JudyL  Good for you getting back in the swing of everything.  Not long now until Ireland!

@MickD  99 degrees?  We are expecting to hit that this weekend.  I am only 95 so I salute you.  Smiley Happy

My car a/c does not work so I will be sitting in a repair shop shortly and smoking the credit card once again.  (insert tears here)

Disputed all five charges in my card from my Galena adventure.  Chase is already on it.   The bank needs a dossier so I can tell this is going to be an adventure which is why I never use my debit card.  Smiley Sad  Note to self:  Bring cash to Illinois, always.

I am back at work and I need another vacation.  I had two weeks worth of deposits to do because men can't pick up a ready to go deposit bag, drive literally around the corner, and drop the money by the bank.  Me and the teller will be drinking heavily tonight.

But the good news is I have my car back so it's gym time tomorrow beginning at 5am!  I am putting on my Mississippi River gear including my "what happens on the river stays on the river" shirt and biking and powering it out before work.  Can't wait!  Aspirin at 11, I'm sure.  Smiley Very Happy

Hope everyone is having a great week!

@Laura14 - I hope you enjoyed Galena...it is such a cute area!  I used to live in Chicago....a nice drive.  Have fun at your 5am workout....I can't get my buhunkus going that early...I think I'd injure myself.....you go girl!

I am able to resist the TSV trees for today but have a hard time with the Santas.  Not the big one like Dennis Basso showed tho.  I have quite the collection of Jim Shore Santas.  Also have a couple others that aren't his that I stand up by the fireplace or under the tree.  Love my Santas!  I tell myself that I can only add one new Santa every year because my collection is getting quite large but, well, last year I added 4 of them.  LOL  We'll see how I do this year.  Maybe I'll find an Irish one on my trip!

Laura - glad you made it home ok.  Going back to work is always tough.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Hi guys...we're back!  Now DH flies to ME tomorrow so need to pack for that.  We had a nice time with a few glitches.  The sunset sail Sunday evening was absolutely amazing, by far the best part of our trip.

Monday morning we get a text that dh is sick so that just sucked the blood right out of us. Thought about packing up and leaving.

We decide to stay...go for a bike ride and I get stung in the face by a huge wasp out on the bike trail.  I didn't have my Epi-pen with me and since I'm already having an allergic reaction, well, it was pretty darn scary.  You've never seen 2 people pedal so fast to get back to the hotel...as we were peddling, I could see my face growing out of my eye.  I'm stll quite swollen and it still hurts.

The hotel was nice but not what I'd expect for the money....they said they are in "transition" and I could see that in the service.  Beautiful place right on the water though...so peaceful.  The movie Wedding Crashers was filmed there so now I have to watch that.  Very quaint town, we got in a lot of biking and walking...in 108* heat index weather....ugh.

While DH was lifting wegihts in the gym at the hotel, he felt his lymphnodes sore in a couple of spots...well you know he's already been not feeling well for months now so that really worried me.  He went to doctor yesterday, they "don't think it's cancer", think it is all form those immunizations he got last year for deployment...sending him to a specialist. He almost feels crippled after all the miles we put in from this trip...which is soooo not him.

Anyway, I'm rambling...you can tell what's on my mind.  DS is trying to make it until Friday for his infusion but the UC is flaring. One of his meds may be affecting his liver so they're going to check his liver enzymes then too.  It's a wonder I'm not an alcoholic.

I'm not sure what I'm doing today...oh, yesterday I did 2 with Lucy and 5 miles on my own, get home and I'm locked out of the house...dh is at the doc.  I can't win!  I was hot, thirsty, and hungry.  So I walked to the gym and lifted weights...then walked to meet dh as he drove home and picked me up.  Little more than I bargained for.  I may just bike today.

Okay...bopper, your wall looks good, you know i love my red lamps and accent pillows...nomless, we have horrible dental insurance, doesn't cover anything...Judy, glad you're back at it...MickD, it's been hot as Hades here too and the next few days are triple digits...Laura, we had issues on our trip too, you're not alone, I didn't even share everything....I feel like I'm forgetting someone but it's not intentional.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

@Iluvlucy  I'm sorry my black cloud spread your way.  But it sounds like you had some great moments just like I found.  I hope all the medical stuff goes away and fast.  Smiley Happy

I really think someone has a purpose in throwing all kinds of stuff at you.  I would have never created my new journal if I hadn't had my meltdown in Galena (although I still want my stuff!) and I love that little thing.  I was posting stickers and making stick figures last night after a long day at work.  Best de-stresser I've found in a long time and it's cardstock, gel pens, and stickers you can buy anywhere.   No talent required.  Thank goodness.  Highly recommend if you want to be a kid again.

The good news is I think (hope) my black cloud is gone.  I take my car into the service station to bite the bullet on the a/c repair and the guy comes out after 20 minutes and says "It's blowing ice cold.  What was the problem again?"  After five minutes of teaching me how to turn on my a/c in hot weather (feel free to ROFL), he tells me my car is fine and didn't even charge me for looking at it.  I'm probably their lunch time chuckle for the day.  But I don't care.   Snoopy dance!  If it hadn't been highly inappropriate, I would have jumped into his arms and kissed him just because it's my first good news in three weeks.  I did control myself and I wouldn't be surprised if they just took pity on me and dialed in the controls again or gave it a shot to make it cold for a little bit.

I also made my way back to the gym this morning and did my cycle class and hour of power.  I'm back!

I also caught up at work and it's the end of the week so I'm just begging for my weekend.  I still need to go food shopping, clean my house, and get a machete out for the jungle that is my front yard.  But I did reorganize my drawers last night to make room for my new clothes from Iowa so I didn't play with crayons the whole time.  Smiley Wink

Hope everyone has a great Thursday!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Hey all, sounds like everyone has a story to tell lately!  Good grief hey?  Laura your AC story made me laugh.  M AC doesn't work in my car either, so I"m very warm driving with the windows down.  But mine is because there is a leak and the stuff you put in just pours onto the ground.  Not bothering to fix it, too expensive and I don't go too many places and it doesn't stay hot here for very long.  As long as I have a heater in the winter that is what is going to matter to me.

Iluvlucy you can never go anywhere without something happening, I'm surprised your not an alcoholic too LOL.   I hope DS improves and his liver enzymes are alright and your face with the sting, so scary and then DH feeling not good.  You really need some good luck come your way!

MickD your doing good, I did treadmill this morning and Total Gym.

Nomless I didn't get the trees, I also have to scale down.

Terrible thunderstorm this morning about 8:30, dark as night but it's passed and now is partly sunny and humid and hot.   We have a huge wasp nest above our front door and hubby thinks its okay to leave it there because it is kind of high up.  Ummmmm NO!  I told him NO, it's coming down.  He knew it was there too and never told me as he knew I"d have a melt down.  Heck I sit on my front porch right under it sometimes with Logan and he didn't tell me!  Seriously?   I got out the wasp spray this morning and sprayed it from a crack in the door and then slammed the door.  The spray shoots up to 20 feet so I got it good.  They are still trying to get into it though but I think if they do they will die from the spray.  Hubby said they are good for the environment and eat a lot of bugs.  Well maybe they do but not above my door thank you very much!

Well time for lunch!   Have a good day everyone!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

@bopper  LOL!  I'm fighting black clouds and you're dueling with wasps.  We all do need a drink!  If I wasn't at work , I would have taken one after paying my credit card off today for my vacation stay.  Instead, I grabbed a tissue and took a moment away from my desk.  Rummaged in the dumpster behind the restaurant with the feral cats for lunch and then went back to work.  OMG, do we need some luck around this forum or what?

Stay safe and don't get stung!  No more allergic reactions!  No more heat and storms!  No more family issues, back pain, broken cars, insect infestations, the coming of the apocalypse, etc....  Everyone throw a little salt, walk around a chair to reverse your luck, burn sage, I'm still looking for ideas...  Smiley Very Happy
