Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

It's Sunday already...seems I was just thinking "it's Friday already"!  It was humid out there again this morning...bleck(98%)...but it was only 70* so it's much better than 92* with that high humidity like the day I did the bleachers. Lots of dead animals on the road...groundhogs, fawn, racoon, etc.

That is great news about your dad bopper...I understand him being leery of it at first but you do what you have to do.

Kids were in a friendly bowling competition yesterday and my son got 1st place...he got a turkey.  DIL came in 3rd. They had fun.

I did end up driving the almost hour to get to Nordstrom's on Friday and what a mess, I like the old way they used to do the sale with the tents. Even one of the sales ladies said people call looking for something and they can't find it because they don't know where it is as it's all mixed in with non-sale items. Not that I needed anything else but there were a couple of things I wanted to see in person but could only find one. My dil loves a pair of my boots I got so I may get her a pair and then I'm definitely done.

Need to shower and get ready for church. Have a great day everyone!!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Happy Sunday, everyone.  The rain stopped yesterday morning around 9 am after storming all night so I went on to my Zumba class.  It wasn't hot there but it was humid, clammy.  I stopped working out to get a drink after about 30 minutes and realized I didn't want to continue.  The humidity was too uncomfortable and was tiring me out.  @bopper, if you feel like resting today, do it.  Listen to your body.

@Iluvlucy, it sounds like you live in an area similar to mine.  On the route that I take to my health center, I see nothing but raccoons and possums on the road.  Once in a while, a dead deer.  Oh and speaking of deer, that's another reason I worry about traveling at night or worse, very early morning.  The deer jump out of the bushes and you hit them or they hit you, the result is the same...not good for the deer or your car.  Enjoy church.

My husband is coming back today (happy, happy, happy) and I'm wondering should I cook or buy take out.  Boy did I need him as my support blanket when it was storming.  I'm a scary cat, lol.

WW meeting and then a nice walk afterwards.  Have a great day everyone.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Hi Everyone!  Thought I'd check in.  Its been a crazy 10 days or so since I adopted Monty.  Adopting an older cat has its challenges and I've had to take him to the vet to make sure his issues weren't physical - they weren't, he's a healthy 10 year old cat.  So his issues are behavorial and I hope we can overcome them else I will have to make a difficult decision.  The vet seems hopeful and that everything will be fine.   Please keep your fingers crossed and a few prayers, if you are so inclined, would be appreciated.  I just love this cat to pieces and he is such sweet boy.  Didn't realize how much I needed him until I got him.   I was in tears on Friday at the vet's and they were so sweet and supportive to me and assured me they will work with me to make things ok.  I would just hate to lose Monty.

Hoping tomorrow morning to get back to doing my Leslie Sansone DVDs.  Hope everyone is doing ok.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Good morning everyone.  Yesterday turned to be a fairly good weather day although it reached 90.  It wasn't as humid as Saturday, thank goodness.  I was able to do my walk at the health center without getting that weird internal heat episode like I did Saturday while doing Zumba.  Today is supposed to get to only the 70s with even less humidity.  I hate humidity!

@JudyL, I hope that Monty gets better....for your sake as much as his.  How old is a 10 year old cat in human years.  He might be my age (almost 70) or older, huh.

Down another 2.4 lbs at WW yesterday.  That's a total of ten pounds.  I'm happy about it but I lose ten pounds often and quickly gain it back.  What I need to do to be successful is go beyond ten ponds.  I'm not stressing, though.  It will happen this time.  I've got 17.6 lbs to go to make my goal of 125.  I'd like to do it by December which is more than enough time.

Senior cardio and my strength classes today.  Maybe a walk as well.

Enjoy your day, ladies.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Happy Monday everyone, just came in from a nice power walk, it's a gorgeous day outside, only in the 60's, grass was quite dewy so it is humid but still enjoyed my walk.

foxxie glad your hubby is coming back and hoping the storms stay away.  Congratulations on your weight loss, you will make it this time!   Those last 10 pounds can do you in  haha.

Judy prayers for Monty, sounds like a sweet boy and glad you got him and formed a good bond with him.   My sisters cat lived to 17!

Lucy I hate seeing dead animals on the side of the road but it happens.  Cool on the bowling, sounds fun.   Hope the house plans are going well for you, lots to look forward too, hubby's new job, a new house, new area to live....hopeing DS is doing well too and of course the animals!

DrKelli are you still sore from Lablast?  I hope the heat isn't too bad there.  I haven't talked to my DIL this weekend so don't know how hot it was there.

Nomless I hope your work week is good, are you starting to think about Fall, I love Fall and fall decorating, baking, scents!

MickD how's the trail?  I haven't been on mine, it's so overgrown because of all the rain, and the bugs are horrible.

Okie kids, have a good one!

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

Judy, I hope Monty is ok and that behavior issues can be resolved. He sounds like a sweet, sweet boy.I hope the vet's suggestions help turn things around.

I went to a McCartney concert last night. OMG, blew my mind.I last saw him in 2005, and he was great then. Last night was even better. The show is a long one (3 hours) with mostly hard, rockin' numbers.Iwas exhausted from dancing and singing all night.I don't know how he and the band do it several times a week.EscpeiallyAbe, the drimmer - he brings it! They must be wasted at the end of the night. It was so awesome. No I'm just sad because I'll probably not see him again. Have loved Macca my entire life.....

@Mmsfoxxie Yay on the continued weight loss!

@JudyL Hopefully Monty has found his forever home....fingers crossed!

2.9 mi/35 min on the treadmill.  Cloudy and humid today.  The guys are doing the rebar so it's a perfect day for them.

Well, OMG, @nomless, that is great!  Yes, this was a golden opportunity to see Sir McCarthy.  I'll bet the tickets were a fortune.  Congratulations on the opportunity.

@nomless  OMG!! OMG!!  I am so envious!  But so glad for you that you go to see McCartney and what a treat that must have been.  So happy for you.  I have always wanted to see him perform.

Re: Welcome to the July Exercise Thread

@JudyL and others who may love Macca (McCartney), if you ever get the opportunity to see him, do it. Save for a great ticket, or buy one that's not top tier, if necessary. He does an amazing show, an experience that will give you chills then and when you remember it long after. It really is worth every penny.

But then, take the next day off work. You'll need at least a day to recover, lol. You'll have nothing left at the end of the show.
