Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Bopper, I'm glad to know you like the DVDs. Let me know when they're on sale. Cardio done on treadmill and bike.

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

I'm not buying that an average 60 year old woman should be able to hold a plank for 45 minutes. I think that was an error....45 seconds seems about right. 45 minutrs would be aboive average, IMO. Patty, you might know. I've been googling and can't find any other source that says 45 minutes is the average.

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

No, nomless, that has to be a typo...it's seconds, not minutes. I used to be able to do 4 minutes and that was considered really good...for any age.

I have a gf that can do 10 minutes and they taped it at her CF box because it's not the norm...for those of us that are 50 and over, or for anyone under 50.Wink

Most people can't hold it for over 3 minutes...even those that work-out hard and are in really good shape.

Everything is closed or delayed here again. I'm waiting to hear about our CF class, the 6 a.m. one was cancelled at 5:30 this morning but that was the only one listed.

DH had to cancel the Hail & Farewell last night...roads were terrible, accidents all over. I was very content to stay home.

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Thanks for your input re planks, Patty. I just found an article that said the current record for women is 1 hour 20 min by a 16 year old. Previous female record was 40 minutes, so the other article was wrong. Makes me feel a lot better about y time! Be careful out there, Patty.

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

I mean most people, like myself, have never held a plank to see how long they could hold one...just what I've had to do with a PT or wod, but I know that record is a-MAZing!

I went to CF, PR'd my dead-lift, did box-jumps on the "big-dog" box, and held my handstand without the wall for a while...{#emotions_dlg.thumbup}! Oh...and did some Double-Unders! You have good days and you have bad days...they say you should never get to the point where you don't have bad-days at CF or you aren't pushing yourself like you should be.

I had a good work-out other than I whaled my knuckles on the box during Box-jumps, now I have two purple knuckles now that I seem to keep hitting on everything in sight! LOL! {#emotions_dlg.scared}

I ran some errands then got groceries, came home and threw a soup in the crock-pot, now I have to shower and take Lucy to the groomers, then go pick-up my gf's dog that we're babysitting while they go to FL. I'm scared because she's so old and hasn't been well.{#emotions_dlg.unsure}

Then the snow is supposed to roll in...the latest model shows us getting 12" to 14"! That will shut.this.place.dowwwn.

Hope you're all having a great one!!{#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Hey all, we're having sun but it's back to the 0's.

I did Treadmill intervals today and an Ab dvd for the TG....sore from yesterday so that's good.

Nomless I hate planks but they are very effective...

Pppmint be careful on the roads and glad your workout was quite productive! I hope Lucy and your guest will like each other. We know who rules in your house {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes} Stay safe in the snow and ice!

Logan has a vet appt. at 4:30 today for his shots and I want his ears checked because I think he is shaking his head too much. Want to make sure he doesn't have ear mites..He's quite vocal in the waiting room too!

Have a great day everyone!

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Hi, everyone. Rain/ice/snow here. We're on the cusp.

Yay re: your handstand, Patty! Good days are so satisfying. Ouch re: your knuckles...just a bruise, I hope. Lots of good wishes re: your canine house guest. Sorry there's lots of snow headed your way, but I bet Lucy will love it. LOL.

Hi, Bopper, good job. I hope you and Logan have fun at the vet. Hope his ears are OK.

I'll do a DVD workout tonight because weather will be too dicey to go to the gym. Maybe a Katami or a Jari or 21DF or Tony.....all would be good.

Gotta get back to work...have a good afternoon.

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Hi, all! Had no time for a WO yesterday -- busy work day, then had to run home to get ready for a dinner mtg. It's nice here today. But snow/ice/yuck the next few days -- which means my allergies will again be bonkers. I hacked and coughed from my throat tickle half the night. Yuck. Work was super busy and crazy. Probably walked 4 miles! Afterwards, I had to go to two groceries, but got some awesome deals! Our fridge and freezer are stocked! I opened it this am to get some coffee creamer and just shook my head. Lol! Had some super yummy fish for dinner. Also took the dogs on a quick walk, the. Did Pilates for 30 minutes or so. Tmrw I am hoping to do spin, but I gave an apt beforehand. Will take clothes to change so hopefully I can zip over there and git 'er done Smiley Wink Ok, I need to shower up and clean up the kitchen. Hope you guys stay warm. It's crazy everywhere!!

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Future, as usual you're crazy busy! It's not snowing yet, so after work I went to the gym and did 50 min cardio on bike and treadmill. Good girl!

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Hi everyone! Snow day here, I just shoveled for the 2nd time today, it's very wet and heavy so I felt yesterday's dead-lifts and back-rows. Yes, nomless, Lucy was up to her neck in it...lol...hopping like a bunny. I see the neighbors at the window pointing and laughing.

Our little visitor is doing well...she'd be doing better if Lucy would leave her alone...ay. That's all I'm going to say about that. She sure is a hand-full, God bless her.{#emotions_dlg.glare}{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

I did 6-miles on the treadmill. My knee is still a little funny so I didn't kill myself, but I don't need to work-out at high-intensity every day, all part of the program.Wink

I guess I'll go help the neighbors now since dh is at work checking their building out then going to check-out where they set up a bunch of tents for an exercise and I'm just doing laundry.

Have a great day everyone!!
