Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Hi, Straitgirl, thanks for joining in. Yay that you're in the process of making a walk a daily thing. Good for you! And how cool that you're already seeing some results. Keep posting here....we'll cheer you on!

Hi, Patty. It's too bad the city is still closed. Nice that Lucy got to go on a field trip yesterday....I bet she loved it. It's so great that you're enjoying your treadmill. Last night (I think it was), I watched a a treadmill presentation on HSN, and I recently saw an elliptical, too. I sure wish I had space for one, I know I would use it. Oh, well.

Tonight I'll do Jari, I think. Or Katami. Then to sleep early, I hope. The past few nights, I haven't been able to fall asleep. Awake til 2 or 3 AM, have to get up at 5:30. This is the opposite of my usual problem...falling asleep but waking up after a couple of hours and not being able to go back to sleep. Either way, I don't sleep much! Grrr.

Patty, yes, I was happy the beagle won! She's so darn cute! But, really, they're all wonderful. Even though I have only cats, I love dogs, too. I grew up with a boxer. Goodness, she was at my side for several years.

It's bitterly cold today, but the sun is out. Maybe snow tomorrow, but not too much, I hope.

Hi, Bopper, I hope you and Logan are having a nice day. Oh...this is shopping day, isn't it, which is harder now that you're down a car. I hope you have some fun today, too.

Cardio done.....treadmill and bike in workout room. There was only one other person there. Nice. Have a good evening, everyone.

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Aloha! I thought with everyone's frigid temps, we could pretend we're in Hawaii. They said there are over 15 states with current temps below zero and many more with wind-chills that cold...they showed a place in MN that is -35*, not windchill.

I'm on a forum where everyone posts their running temps...still some die-hards going out at the crack of dawn with 20* below. We're a sheet of ice so no outside activity for Lucy and I today.

I feel your pain nomless, I was up at 3:45 today. That's not bad enough but I have a crown replacement this morning...going to be a great day!Wink{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes} Yay for empty work-out room!

DH did really well at CF, I knew he would...shoulder held him back though, pt told him it's going to take a long time to get back to normal. He told me last night that he was a little surprised at my handstand push-ups and my toes-to-bars. I told him 'This ol' bag isn't ready to throw in the towel just yet'.{#emotions_dlg.laugh} I didn't go over 155lb dead-lifts thanks to my back and neck, my gf did 180lbs!! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1} She is amazing...so proud of her.

Treadmill and jump-rope for me this morning.

Try and stay warm bopper, looks like this arctic blast is going to be around for a few days. I can hear the wind howling...ugh. Sounds like more than 20mph.{#emotions_dlg.glare} Oh boy, just looked at how much I've written...guess I'm done!{#emotions_dlg.blush}

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Hi everyone, I didn't post yesterday {#emotions_dlg.crying}It was quite a day, Hubby and I went to the Chiro together because of the 1 car thing, then I dropped him off at work and went grocery shopping. Lost a bracelet my son gave me I thought in the grocery store, so I was frantic and left my cart to retrace my steps and low and behold at the entrance to the store on a black rubber mat in front of the cart wipes there it was...I thanked God quite a few times. It is nothing expensive or that anyone else would want but it has special meaning to me and I would have been so sad...but then after I got my groceries and went to my car I started it up and the red brake light was on, so I called hubby. He said it should be Ok and to just go home..said it's probably one of those computer chip things. So I proceed to the intersection and "no brakes"...yup no brakes...I had 2 feet on the brake pedal and I had to go into the snowbank in order to stop or I would have crashed into the car in front of me...I managed to get stopped and then I slowly proceeded to the intersection. I was able to coast and stop and then proceeded across the 4 lanes to a motel and called my hubby. Long story short we had a broken brake line, had it fixed yesterday and we are back in business but we still only have the 1 car.... Was not the best day but could always be worse...

I have had my GD this week for 3 days for sleep overs because of my son and DIL's work schedule and today is no school for her because it's too cold.. It's so bitter cold here...and in a lot of places. I did workout just now though and she is watching cartoons. Only a short workout but I did the treadmill.

Sun is out, which is quite deceiving but it's still nice.

Straitgirl happy to have you join us here and I love to walk too. Just can't wait for the warmer weather and no snow so I can get back out there.

Nomless glad you got to the gym and it wasn't crowded..

Pppmint be careful on that dang ice...that's the worst. You and your gf are rocking the CF. Stay safe today!

Well need to shower and my GD wants a snack....

Have a great rest of your day!

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Bopper, it's good to hear from you. You sure had a lousy day yesterday, but thank goodness you found your bracelet and that the brake problem didn't result in accident or injury. I guess those warning lights DO mean something, eh?

I hope you're having fun with DGD. Stay warm. No more adventures for awhile, eh?

Tony, I've been thinking about you, too. You've had lots more snow and even more is predicted this weekend, I hear. Yikes, what will they do with all that snow??? I hope you're managing OK.

Hi to Future, too. Hope things are slowing down a bit there.

Patty, pretending we're in Hawaii is a great idea! You and GF and DH did great at CF. Proud of you all! I hope you can keep Lucy entertained during yet another day of ice. She's probably annoyed that she can't go running!

It's cold and cloudy here, but no snow or ice. I'll probably do a DVD workout tonight, don't know which one.

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Oh boy bopper...I can picture the scene in my mind! I've done that before and it's an awful feeling! {#emotions_dlg.scared}

nomless, she was sitting outside in the sun, sniffing the air, with 7* windchill like it was 70*...lol! I couldn't get her in the house, I'd yell "Lucy COME"...and she'd turn around and stare at me like "What's your deal?", but she wouldn't budge. {#emotions_dlg.glare} I finally had to yell.

I'm bored...I did all the cleaning and laundry I'm going to do today, did the bills, filed and shredded papers, got our tax stuff together, made some phone calls...and here I sit.

I'm really tired but I feel anxious and jittery inside...kwim? I might take a quarter of a benedryl tonight, I need some sleep.

Tony, FUTURE, cater, vonlam, and everyone else...wish you'd check in so I have something to read until the ice melts.{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

While I'm here, I did the treadmill, jump-rope, jumping-jacks, and did lunges up and down the stairs with some weights. I really didn't go crazy though...too tired.

I hope everyone is having a good day!

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Hi All! I'm here but you can't see me behind the snow bank! Unbelievable! I am so glad that I don't live in city- they have no more place for snow and there are so many people that have not dug out their cars. We just push it further into the woods here. But my city, Worcester, was the snowiest in the country last week so I guess it is still on top this week! We have a little more in my town but who really cares! Frigid temps ( wind chill to -30 tomorrow) and some snow continues....... Otherwise, I have no complaints. Work is busy but doable. Nomless- I thought the same as you- who goes hiking in a blizzard? Patty- I am thinking a shoulda bought a treadmill. I won't be walking anytime soon! Bopper- I am glad you are OK. One vehicle is a pain. Future- Hi! I'm glad to see you are all still working hard. I am so flunking! Stay warm!

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

Morning all and Happy Friday!

We're at -3 now, so it's warming up!! My GD was here for 3 days for sleep overs and yesterday all schools were closed so I didn't even get here to post..she keeps me hopping but I did do the treadmill while she watched her shows on TV. I do love having her though.

I am about to head down to the basement to do my TG. Got my new dvd's so anxious to do one of them.

Tony glad you checked in, I see you peeking from behind the snow bank... And this too shall pass right? Smiley Happy

Pppmint stay safe on that ice today...and it's really cold there which is so unusual but this winter has been unusual. Lucy has her own idea of when she wants to come in the house LOL

Nomless it's Friday! Hope you have a nice weekend. Have no plans here... Which workout dvd did you decide on yesterday?

Okay I need to get a move on here, and start some laundry and get to my workout. Have a great rest of your Friday!

Re: Welcome to the February Exercise Check In

It's Friday!! And I survived one of the worst work-outs I've ever done in my life!!{#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

When you do 7-minutes of straight burpees before you start your WOD, you know it's going to be bad. And one of the warm-up exercises was a move that was sooooo hard!!! I can't even remember the name of it. Lay down on your back, lift a kettlebell up in the air, stand up keeping the kettle-bell straight above you(can't bend arm), sit down, then lay back down...all the while keeping kettle-bell straight armed above your head. I'm sure there have been some teeth knocked out over that one.

The WOD was a partner work-out and my gf and I rocked it! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

60 calorie row
60 Thrusters 75/55#
60 Wall Balls, 20/14#
60 Pullups
60 Wall Balls
60 Thrusters 75/55#
60 calorie row

UGH! It's horrible!!! LOL! You have 17 minutes to complete it in but it's hard. I did not feel good for a few minutes...at all. Ran into one of the other ladies that was there and she said she felt like throwing up for the first 6 months....every.single.class. God bless her because I wouldn't come back if I felt like that after every one! And she's a Spin instructor.

Went to Marshall's and got groceries so I'm done for the day. My son had a doctor appt this morning so talked to him. Poor kid is exhausted all the time...nothing they can do about it though, between the meds and the disease itself, that's his life from here on out.

bopper....I'm laughing because you actually did post yesterday! Tony...I'm so glad we bought another treadmill, I didn't care for my last one but it sure came in handy sometimes. Nomless...have you heard any more on the hiker?? I haven't other than the husband is form the JP Morgan family.

Okay...shower time!
