Good Morning on this 1st day of December. I just finished 20 miles on my Proform Xbike watching the TV, time goes fast then . It does not record many steps on the fitbit though but I know what I did. Still no snow here, works for me!!!
My granddaughter is 10 months old today! How fast the time has gone! My dad turns 89 tomorrow. I am making his cake today. I always nominated to make the cakes in this family. I enjoy doing it for him.
Take time today to enjoy the season and never forget to smile! You never know how much that smile means to someone!

@bopper - Wow - excellent mileage on the bike! I hope you have a great day with your dad....does he have a favorite cake?? I love babies.....10 months is the start of a lot of fun! My son was so cute at that age that people would mistake him for a girl/ gerber baby....with his blonde hair and big blue eyes......fun, fun!
I ran 2.6 mi/35 min on the treadmill. I didn't feel like moving it .....we keep passing germs in my family...last week my son, and this week it is me and DH.....

Happy Friday everyone, Started off with some sun but clouds soon rolled in and wind, making it cold when it's only 36 outside but I did over 4 miles of fast walking this morning. Had to get out while our roads are bare and dry.
MickD we are having dads party tonight. I use an old family recipe my grandma always made him for his birthday cake. Yes 10 months is a fun age, she will soon be walking and then look out! Funny too how you can already see their personality and she's strong willed little girl!
Nomless how are the new shoes working out. You don't work on weekends now do you?
I have a nice cozy wood stove fire going and we have not had to turn on our electric heat which is a good thing. Our electric company raised our rates by 30% and that's a lot. I feel bad for those that don't heat with wood and have electric heat. I'll tell you your much more aware to turn off lights you are not using. Imagine Christmas lights people use for outside how much that will be! Some people go all out too.
Taking Logan to the trail soon and then writing out some Christmas cards. I still like to send cards.
Have a good day everyone! Be a shining star in someones life today!

Happy birthday to your dad @bopper. Hello to everyone!
Wow, that's a lot of bike miles. How long did it take? I'm noticing something about miles. Some take more or less time than others. The other day, I did one of Leslie Sansone's walk DVDs. Since I've been going to the center I've only used it once...the 2 mile one. Well, the other day I did the 4 or 5 mile version. It only took 35 or 40 minutes! If that. When I walk around the track at the center, I can do a mile in about 15 minutes, rushed. So young that as my guideline, it should take at least an hour to do 4 miles, right. And the dvd miles are easier. I wonder how she calculates that.
Yesterday, me and my Fitbit took a post workout shower together, lol. Accidentally, of course. I have the Fitbit One clip. I clip it on my watch and forget I have it on. The watch and the Fitbit are still working.
@bopper, I like your signature. It's similar to one I almost used, "be a rainbow in someone's cloud".

Happy birthday to your dad, Bopper. Have a fun part tonight...and enjoy the cake. Wow, a 30% increase for electric is a lot! Ouch. How fortunate you are that you van have a wood fire. It will help a lot.
Foxxie, I agree that Leslie's miles may not really be miles. But still, ypu're moving so it's all good.
My boss offered me more hours, but I declined. I told her I'm worn out at the end of my 5-hours and don't want to work longer or more days. She was fine with that. It didn't seem to be the right time to ask for fewer hours though...lol.
Bopper, no, I don't work weekends. This weekend, I need to do laundry, and I'll also put the Berkshire sheets on the bed. Nice! Grocery run, too.

@nomless, you were probably right to turn down the extra hours if you don't need them. Your home time is worth a lot. I didn't really want to retire in 2015 because I consider a payroll check more reliable (not to mention more money, lol) than a pension every month. But I'm glad I'm retired now. Scaling down with expenses wasn't too hard.

Hello everyone, I have not much news like a lot of us here but just saying hi and I"m cleaning and doing some baking.
Dad BD was great thank you. He enjoyed all the family around him and he's pretty sharp for 89.. We bought him a new TV so he was tickled!
Hubby is at work until noon and then we may head to the Christmas Craft show and I"ll look for some gifts, not all of it is the crafty crafts, there are other things mixed in. It's nice to look.
nomless I agree you were right to turn down the extra hours. I was offered a job at the lancome counter in Younkers and turned that down. Nights and weekends, no thanks. I'm not looking either, I enjoy being home. We have not much money but we are content non the less.
Not sure if I"ll do a workout or not....probably a dog walk though.
Have a great day everyone!

Yep, I agree with both of you...my time matters to me.
I thought today would be fairly idea, doing just a bit of laundry. Well, I'very been doing it all day! %he last load of summer sheets are in the wash now, and the furry sheets are on the bed. Yay!
How nice that Dad got a new TV, Bopper. He'll enjoy it. Have fun at the Christmas fair. I wish I could go with you...it will be so festive!

Hi, all. Happy Sunday.
Today I'm making myself crazy because I'm such a packrat. After doing 6 loads of laundry yesterday, today I'm faced with putting it all away. Problem is no space to put it! Too many sheet sets, too many socks, etc., but all in good condition which makes it difficult for me to toss or donate. I'm a suckered for buying things when they're on sale or when the new best thing comes along....like the Berkshire sheets when I already had two sets of the Malden Mills sheets. This morning I spent time rearranging things, and yes, I did toss some things. Even I could see there was no point to keeping 20 year old, discolored pillow covers when I have several new ones still in the original package. I managed to fill one bag of things to toss and made space to store stuff....for now. At some point, I need to buckle down and be ruthless about getting rid of stuff, but not today. It causes to much anxiety. I'm sure we've all had the experience of throwing something away that hasn't been used in years, only to find that we need it the next day.
I think I'm done with chores for the weekend and will be a couch potato the remainder of the day.
Bopper, how was the Christmas craft fair?
