Hello, it's been a very cold day here , its 1 above right now but we had sun today so that is always good! I made some cookies, cleaned and watched football.
Judy so happy to see you. Enjoy your time in Ohio and you will have a white Christmas or maybe, I heard it may warm up there by the Holiday.
foxxie I have the fitbit one and had had good success with it working properly.
elated you have a good plan and have done very well. Lifestyle changes are just that "life style changes" and we all need to be on that train! Enjoy your holiday and stay safe and warm.
Iluvlucy I hope the ice has melted and you had a nice Sunday! The temps are sure up and down.
Oh The Sound of Music is Starting! I love that movie! Have a warm and enjoyable evening everyone!

Happy Monday!!
Hope everyone had a nice weekend!
elated...congratulations! That's a huge accomplishment! I had the Charge but couldn't read it when I was outside...now I have the Alta but sure miss my stair count(Alta doesn't count stairs).
Hi Judy...nice to see you! Hope you have a white Christmas! They're saying we could go either way...rain or snow.
Mmsfoxxie...23 lbs is great! That's a good chunk o' change!
bopper...send some cookies my way!
nomless...glad you got your cards done. Does the library have extra days off for Christmas?
I got the sweetest box from one of my closest gf's. Each gift she gave me, she wrote the meaning behind it and why it reminds her of me. Like an "inspire and love" bracelet because I inspire her and show people love....a snowflake decoration because I'm unique just like snowflakes...a coffee mug with a deer on it that says "Listen" because I love to be out in the woods and listen to nature and listen to my friends, a sea glass candle because we used to go "sea-glassing" all the time and made it a verb, etc. Just so thoughtful...I loved everything!
Yesterday we went grocery shopping, walked Lucy, and I made a big pot of White Chicken Chili in my Dutch Oven. DH worked all weekend...he took today off so I'm not sure what we're going to do. Might go down to National Harbor to see the ice sculputres. Going to do a TRX work-out again...found a few online that look good.

Hey everyone, another Monday it is! We were below 0 when I got up and now we are at 10 above. The wind is fierce, I'm not going outside, Logan's feet would be brutal and how enjoyable is it when it's so cold anyways. I have heard a warmup is coming like 30 by Wednesday so that will feel great! I had ice on the insides of my windows this morning and we have very good windows, it's just that cold and then the window sweats from the humidifier on so I"m constantly wiping them down, even still they are melting inside. This has been some Polar Vortex everywhere!
I did the Bike and Body Gym this morning and now am doing laundry and have a gift I have to wrap, watching Hallmark and listening to Christmas music on the radio when I'm in the kitchen. We havent' had to use any of our heat yet and being below zero that's saying somethihg. Our wood stove is keeping us nice and we have electric heat so not turning it on when it's below zero is huge for us! I feel bad for animals out in this and homeless people. It's not all jolly for everyone!

Not much else going on here so stay warm and at least we are all freezing together LOL

Sounds like you Ladies are busy exercising and getting work done! I just got home and ate lunch/dinner. Dishes are next.
This weekend was snowy and cold. We had sub zero weather all night .... woke up to minus ten! Thank God this old furnace is holding up. By the time I got out to do my exercising, it was minus one. Brrrr! Now I'm back home snug as a bug. I feel for anyone that has to stay outside for any length of time today. Luckily, it's supposed to warm up as the week progresses. Keep warm everyone.

Hey all it is warming up here thank goodness. We're at 24 and it feels great. It is very windy though but I snowshoed this morning in the woods by our house. I didn't take Logan yet as I am trying to get the trail packed down for him although who's to say he'll stay on it, he tends to bound through the snow like a mule deer! Just felt so good to get outside after the below 0 temps and windchills.
I have a hair appt. at 1, and then home to finish some last minute cards. I always forget somebody and then get a card from them and feel bad so I send out another one or 2.
I hardly watching the Q at all right now, I'm so tired of the gadgets, the computers, vacuums, flashlights...thank goodness I have Hallmark which I have on I'd say almost the entire day in the background while I am doing other things.
Tomorrow I"ll get the rest of my groceries I need to make my dishes for Christmas Eve and Day and then I'm good.

This is the Ore Dock where I live and a friend we know captured this photo, fog coming off the water early this morning.

That's a pretty picture bopper!
I was sweating bullets when Lucy and I went out early this morning! I took my headband off and unzipped my coat. I did another 7 with my gf again at 9:30 and wore a lighter jacket but was still sweating...it's hard when the sun is out even though we were in the 20's...much warmer than last week. Beth said I was nuts...she was cold but she didn't have gloves on...20's is glove weather imo...and I'm always hot! ![]()
I have been a whirlwind today...had my bedsheets in the wash before 6 a.m. and never stopped. I am going to search recipes right now on Pinterest for Christmas day(eating out at an old mill Christmas Eve before service) then might run out and get everything for those dishes. I know I'll have to hit Wegman's or Teeter for veggies and produce again closer to their arrival day.
I had a bad dream about Aleppo that startled me awake last night around 2 a.m. Ugh, can't get those images out of my head. I hate that that is going on this day and age and there doesn't seem to be anything we can do to stop it. It's similar to Vietnam with the who's helping who...and hard to know one from the other. Meanwhile, we see who is stuck in the middle and taking the brunt of it. Those darn kids just break my heart.
Then yesterday's news...good grief...so depressing. DH was off yesterday but almost had to go in so we didn't get to do what we were going to do, he had to stay close to work. Still had a good time though and ate at a new restaurant.
Alright...going to search for a breakfast casserole...saw one before that looked good so hope I saved it.

Hi, all. I'm still here, but I have no news. I read the posts and see that several are thinking about their holiday cooking. I'll probably do a turkey breast and potatoes and dressing....I should throw a veg in there, too. It will be a quiet holiday weekend here...And a day off work!
Yes, Lucy, the news is distressing and sad.
After that very cold spell we had, we're now warming up to mid 30's. Nice.

Yes, all of this violence in the world! If I had it to do again, I don't know if I'd have children.
It got into at least the twenties today, I'm sure. Haven't heard a report lately but the sun was out and some of the piles of snow are reducing. My car was so dirty with salt and dirt splatters that I had it washed. Needless to say that by the time me to make the ten minute drive home, it was dirty again, lol. Not nearly as much, though. By Friday, I think I heard we might hit low forties for several days. Who can figure out the weather.
I didn't walk today but I did a body sculpting class and a flexibility class. Not much sweating today. I have to remind myself that every aspect of exercising is important, not just cardio.
We have this huge turkey in the freezer that my husband got from the veterans place that he hangs out at. I don't him he shouldn't have accepted it but let someone needy have it but he said there's another place that gives to the needy....this was any veteran turkey give away. Now I have to figure out what to do with it. It's about 23 pounds! I'm thinking I'll wait and cook it on New Year's Day and portion it out into freezer to make meals for several months. Too much of a good thing, right.

Morning everyone, I'm ready to roll to Walmart and an appointment. It's 20 here so thats so much warmer than the past mornings, and I also heard 30 but heard rain/snow mix and that will not be good for those traveling.
I have most of what I need for my Christmas Eve and day dishes, just need a few regular groceries today and my gifts are done. My son and new and new DIL arrive tomorrow. He hasn't been home in over a year so I"m so glad they are making the trip here. She will be missing her family as it's her first Christmas away from them so I hope we can make her feel loved and welcome in our family!
I don't have much news either nomless, just the usual but no news is good news right!
Enjoy this fabulous day!
