I need recommendations for a tracker, I've been walking outdoors using the Aaptiv or Pear Audio workouts and have been enjoying them tremendously.

Hi @SydneyH do mean like a Fitbit tracker?  I have the Charge 2 and really like it.  I only use the Fitbit App.  Thank uyou for telling us about those other apps, I didn't know of them.  Keep walking!!!

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Hey all, I did 50 minutes of my TG 14 day challenge again today, and then added abs, and have walked 3 times on the trail.  Yesterday had over 17,000 steps and burned over 3000 calories.  I'm over 10,000 now too.  It's starting to drizzle, we need rain bad but it always disappears when it gets to us.

Foxxie glad you enjoyed your luncheon, sounds like it was very nicely put together.

Dr.Kelli that dang toe, ouch!  You will lose the nail.

Laura, your classes always have the drama dont' they?  Wish you could have jumped in the pool!

Judy, I hear ya on the energy, I'm pretty whooped now, and at 4 have to get dad to bring him on an errand.  Don't feel like doing a dang thing right now.  The phone rang just now and I didn't even answer it, and I knew who it was, don't feel like being long winded, hope I don't sound terrible but this person talks non stop.  I love her dearly but not today...

Well I'm going to sit here with some coffee and relax, have a great rest of your Friday!

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

@bopper  and @DrKelli You'll both get a kick out of this.  My instructor on Thursday announced "No sitting on the stage during class.  No talking on your cell phone during class.  No talking to your neighbor loudly during class.  And if I am saying it, yes, it has happened."

We all looked around at each other and asked, "Who does that?"  Apparently us 5am peeps are just too tired to act out and lose our minds and behave like children.  We must be half asleep and easy to teach.

Had I known I had such manners, I may have lost them along the way just for some fun.  I might be honored to have a rule created just for me.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Walking is one the best low-impact, moderate exercises you can do, for all of the body's systems, including digestion and lymph glands. When you can't get out and walk due to weather or environment, the Eastern Internal Arts such as Tai Chi and Qigong can provide a simple, quick alternative with all the same health benefits. I have found some good tips and techniques here https://abundantpeace_b0cb.gr8.com/

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Gave a lick and a promise to my lawn last night. Basically mowed over the taller patches and it works for me.

My soon to be 8 year old niece has announced that I am taking her to NYC. I had no idea I had planned that. She is so excited and I am now her favorite aunt. I will take it. Let the walking prep begin.

Probably going to take myself shopping this weekend. The new space decor still awaits. And my mother officially threw all of the basement clean up of her stuff on me so I will be cleaning up the remainder of the storage area. Let the heavy lifting begin again.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Happy Saturday everyone!

@Bradsch Qigong...a blast from my past...took a master's level course in that....long ago.

I thought about going on the trail as it was cloudy and relatively cool this am.  Then I thought about all the other people thinking the same thing um no.  I hate people this am! Hahaha!

Ran on the treadmill 4mi/49min.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Hi Everyone!  Saturday evening and realized I hadn't posted yet today.

This morning I did 2.5 miles Leslie Sansone DVD.  I stopped halfway through the last mile of a 3-mile walk.  Then did 20 minutes of Pilates.  I was done.  LOL

Picked up my new glasses and then ran some errands.  Got home early afternoon and then crashed.  Ended up taking a nap instead of getting done the things I had wanted to.  These new glasses are a little strange.  Don't know if its me getting used to a new prescription, although it hasn't changed much from the old one, or somthing just isn't right.  Will see how I do over the next few days.

Tomorrow is my rest day.  Hope everyone enjoys the rest of your weekend.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Morning, just a quick note, my dad isn't doing well, I may not be posting but will try.  I need to keep up an exercise routine but find it hard as when I feel like this I have no muscle, or strength.  Like a wet noodle, but I know I need it.

Please pray for my father...his name is Bruce.  Thank you!
