I needed your message. Thank you. This afternoon I'm going to the gym for the first time this summer. Had a 'spell' of vertigo as a result of ear infection. Then ear infection returned. Getting my wits about me now, but out of the good 'habit' of exercising, and behind on my goal. A bit discouraged, but will prevail. Any tips for getting back into healthy routines would be great. Thx

@jeanlake I hope your earaches and vertigo are gone! I think that is the worst pain.
My 3 mottos for working out are - Don't think about it, just do it! - Do your best and forget the rest! And - Life is a marathon not a sprint!

Good morning all. Cloudy, moreso than yesterday so maybe the rain will actually come instead of teasing.
I hope everyone is recovering. Everyday seems to bring something new.
Hopefully, I can go for my three favorite classes this morning but my lips are swollen again. I decided last night to use some anti fungal cream the doctor gave me a few weeks ago because the last of my lip issue hadn't gone away. (This was in combination with the Angular Cheilitus that l was dealing with). If the swelling goes down some before I leave, I'll go out. I hate it when people look at you because there something weird going on with your face but are too polite to ask, lol.
There is a thread in here about weight loss when you're older that says that it can make you look older. It is so true! (I'm already old so I don't need that, lol). Since I've lost that 25lbs, I can see that. Your face loses elasticity so it shows wrinkles more. Now the 👄s. Hot mess! Hopefully things will normalize again before my trip to Vegas Saturday. My new normal, that is. The bar keeps changing.
Well, I'm hoping for the best. Have a good day ladies.

Good morning, all! I guess we've moved over here early!
My shoulder is still bothering me, so I didn't do Quick Fit yesterday. I am working out today though, but will avoid any shoulder work.
I'm super busy right now with work and yet, here I sit on a message board!
I sent an email to the fitness supervisor at the rec center in my town about the SPLASH class. Keep your fingers crossed!
I'm headed to New Mexico for an OSHA audit next week. Even though I think it will go well, it is still very stressful. Thank goodness it is a quick trip--just overnight, although I will be working my tail off while I'm there!
Waving hi to everyone, including our MIA people! Hope you have a great day.

1.69 miles,3850 steps is about the maximum of what I seem to be able to get on my fitbit, which is way far away from my goal. But because I can barely walk at all, I am happy. When the weather cools down, maybe I can get 2 miles!!!

I posted on the July thread while everyone is over here! LOL
Just wanting to say hi.

Hi @bopper,
This long lasting monthly thread has helped more people than you can imagine. There are so many that need inspiration, at specific times, to help them when they need it the most. While I seem to always be able to find an inner inspiration, I know I am in a very small minority of those that truly want to succeed in reaching and maintaining their goals.
Your monthly threads have helped many achieve just that, and I want to personally say, thank you my friend,
JOhn

Good for you. Always be happy for where you are at, and what you are able to do. Consistency is the most important thing, be it recovering from a life threatening illness, or a very serious physical injury. I have been through both more times than I care to remember.
As another poster on this thread said: "Life is a marathon, not a sprint". My best to you,
hckynut(john)

Welcome @jeanlake, Vertigo is no fun! I think just don't look to far ahead. Go day by day, write down what you did like a diary, for me reading it motivates me to want to continue with it. I also try and keep track of what I am eating, and that helps. When I exercise I just feel better about myself, it's a head game for sure but reading what others do helps me too. Feel free to ask any questions, my health is important to me so I can be here for my beautiful grandchildren. It has to become a part of your daily routine, whenever it's most convenient for you is when you do it. It's the consistency that is key. Don't put too much on yourself when you start as you will get discouraged, just start slow and do it everyday, mix up the routine. Find something you don't mind doing and stick with it. If you need a partner find a friend to commit to an routine with you. Sometimes just having someone along with you helps. Best of luck to you, and don't be a strarnger ya hear!!! ![]()
