Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Hi just finished my Thursday morning workout too.  I did 30 minutes on the treadmill alternating speeds and then 30 minutes on the TG, lower body and abs.

Laura I get  your arms look good already but good on ya for always trying to improve.  Me too!   You are so right on the simple carbs, they are hidden in everything.  My gf made a stirfry and used riced cauliflower with egg whites, turkey, and lots of veggi's .  I want to try it.

nomless yay it's out for delivery....please tell when you get to try it what you think of it.

iluvlucy yes Logan will be going to the doggie hotel for a few days, I sure hope he survives that ordeal or that I do!!!  Glad you loved your step class and it wasn't dancy moves.  I don't like dancy moves on step.  Happy that the kids are visiting.

Judy how are you doing today!

Has anyone heard of the Instapot?  I think that is the name of it.  It looks like a pressure cooker or maybe it is.  I have to go on Amazon and take a peek at it.

Okie dokie need to shower, have a great day everyone!

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

@bopper  Thanks for the vote of confidence but my arms are losing their goodness.  I actually saw crepey skin for the first time ever a few months ago.  No one told me this happens!!  I need more muscle like now because I don't want that other thing, at all.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Howdy!  Got up early this morning and got crack-a-lackin'!  Bedsheets, cleaning, power-walked/jogged Lucy, then headed to the gym...lifted upper before I did Attack class...man I LOVE that class!

The instructor talked to me afterwards and I told her I want more!  A couple of the ladies said they had one on Tuesdays too but stopped for summer.  The instructor said she thinks some people are afraid of it but they might add another one again if the demand is there.  I know that gals in class all said the same thing...they LOVE it!

I took some clothes to Planet Aid, went to Macy's for an exchange and a return, got groceries for the kids coming...then hit the dry-cleaners and headed home to Lucy-Lu.  Still need to produce and stuff but can get that tomorrow after the gym, I was gone plenty long today.

Dh is going out of town tomorrow for a day-trip.  I almost went with him but we're going there Sep 2nd for a weddeing so why bother.

Aaaccckkkk...dryer!

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Lucy, what a busy day you've had. It's cool that they'll consider adding an Attack class due to demand.  I hope it pans out.

Bopper, I've read about the InstaPot on other threads.  Like you, I looked it up on Amazon and IIRC it is a pressure cooker.

I did my cardio and watched a beach volleyball match.  It was a good one with close scores.  Fun to watch.

This morning I organized a cupboard of Lock N Lock and mixing bowls.  I'm not freezing food as often as I did when I was working, so I moved a lot of Lock N Lock to storage.  I have enough of it to open a store!  Plenty to last for years.  I need to remember that and pitch items when they get stained and pitted.  I seem to have some lids with no bottoms. How could that happen????

@nomless  I am over my plastic container cabinet too.  I just realized I have an empty one across the way so they will have a new home shortly since they can't play nice with the water bottles.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

My Master Gym (chair gym) arrived last night about 8 pm.  I felt badly that my UPS guy had to work so late.  I unpacked it this morning.

Happily, it's in working order.  Very sturdy and seems to be well-constructed.  The bands seem good - they're not ordinary latex bands, they're more like bungee cords. I'm also happy that the resistance seems adequate. Maybe not for strength building, but certainly for maintenance. There are 3 bands of varying resistance that can be combined in any way, giving 7 levels of resistance. The bands move smoothly.

In short, it's better than I expected.  I was afraid that it would be flimsy and cheaply constructed, but it seems to be much better than that. I think it will provide what I'm looking for...a little something extra when I'm watching TV in the evenings and more options for leg work than the machines in the workout room provide.

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Glad you're pleased with it nomless!  The bungee cords are much better than the rubber ones imo.

Another good night at the Olympics.  And another late night too...and I woke up at 3:30...ugh.  Dh's alarm went off at 4 so I knew that was all she wrote and got up with him.

Jogged Lucy early, supposed to be VERY hot.  Extreme Heat Advisories for today and tomorrow...said tomorrow we could have a heat index close to 115*...figures the kids will be here and we want to be out doing stuff.

Went to the gym...wowza...not sure that's what this tired, worn-out, sore bod needed today.  But it's done...and that's all I got to say about that! Smiley Tongue  I did go up in legs again...but my darn knee that I whacked on the door-frame is stil holding me back.

Oh!  I now have 3 baby birds....4th one should be born today!  Wish I could post a picture of them.

I told DH to drink a lot this morning...sitting outside in full uniform in 100* weather is never a good thing.  The cover(hat) alone makes you sweat like crazy.

Lucy is letting me know someone is coming to the door...maybe my TSV sheets!  Have a great day everyone!

Re: Welcome to the August Exercise Thread

Hi all, it's Fri-yay day!  Smiley Happy

Hard morning here.  Went to the Vet with my sisters kitty.  We had to put her down today.  Health issues and had tried everything we could within reason.  She was 19, vet said some kitties live into their 20's.   She was very loved, and very well taken care of and will be deeply missed.  I was her Auntie and I loved her too.

Before I went I did get in 20 minutes on the TG, that's about all I could muster up, too upsetting with what laid ahead I guess.

Nomless glad you like the chair so far, it sounds like what you were looking for and it well made.   Let me know once you use it.

Iluvlucy your so hot, very warm summer everywhere.  We're much warmer than we normally are.  Wonder how our winter will be!  Hope you enjoy all the fun stuff you have planned with the kids.  Very cool on the baby birds.  And tell us about the sheets!

Laura hi waiving to you.   Are you doing a class today?

Guess I"ll take my boy out, drizzling here and very gloomy.  I had a baby Oriole at my feeder last night as soon as I put it out.   They had disappeared for  a while because they were nesting.

Have a good day everyone!
