Good beautiful, rainy morning to everyone. Boy do I ish that I could see more than one post at a time when I reply. Please excuse me when it seems that I'm ignoring something posted.
@Iluvlucy, I completely missed your post the other day. You're absolutely correct on what you said....it not how many classes you take or how long, it's what you do in the classes. When I first started at my fitness center, I spent half the day there, taking usually three classes everyday except Sunday. On Sunday I'd go walk trying to do four miles. I quickly learned that four miles was too much for my knees. I cut back on three classes a day but if I do three classes, I take a break in the locker room watching tv or playing with my iPad in between.
What you said about knee issues fits me to a T. I've never been athletic but my knee issues started as a young adult. In my mid fifties is when I developed pena osteoarthritis, I think it's called. By 65, it affected my walking some days. My twin boys have knee issues already although theirs started with accidents....one playing basketball and fell and has had two surgeries and the other one falling and breaking leg just below the knee one time and ankle another time.
Last month I cancelled my knee injections appointment because of snow. Today, there is rain but hopefully when I go this afternoon, the high winds and hard rain won't be happening yet. Better than slipping and sliding in snow.
Im trying to decide if I should go do a quick walk around the track this morning before my doctor's appointment. I think I will.
@nomless, I posted on the wrong month, too, lol. It happens.
Most of you probably have rain today like me but I'm sure you'll make the best of it and enjoy your day.

Hi all, kind of cloudy day here but it is 50 outside, but the wind is very cold
Mmsfoxxie you can see all the posts if you click on "View discussion in a popup" its at the bottome of the box you are replying in. It opens another page and you have to go back and forth but you can see what everyone said prior, just wanted to mention it.
I kind of don't mind a warm rainy morning, but not a cold rainy morning.
I got groceries this morning and did the Chiro as I am having a flare in my hips/low back so he spent a lot of time with me. I found quite a few baby boy clothes today on clearance so I bought up a storm so when she has her shower I can send a box down. Might as well get started now as it's easer on my budget and it makes me feel good to have a head start.
I'm going to head out to the trail soon and then do my stretches on my Pilates.
Have a good day everyone!

O. M. G. My abs are killing me. We have a sub for one of the classes I take and my abs are still sore from Monday. Yesterday, my workout buddy and I did a challenge workout and today, when the sub started the ab part of the workout, I wanted to cry.
All I can say is that I am glad tomorrow is Zumba. It is the 'easiest' day of the week.

Happy Hump DaaaaY! Did 2.5 mi/32.5 min on the treadmill. I don't think i'll be able to go on the trail until next week. The bronchitis is killing me...yesterday was the first day I've been out of the house in almost 2 weeks.
I hope everyone stays safe from the severe weather ...it looks rough.

Thanks, @bopper, I never noticed that sentence about viewing the discussion but what I mean is I'd like to be able to be in the reply box and scrolled back and forth to see all of the posts so that I can mention everything that I want to remark about. I'll play with it to see if you mean I can go in and out.
It rained all morning so I decided to workout at home.
I got my knee injections this afternoon. Ouch! Lol! The doc said to make sure I came back in six months. I said but that's too soon for me since I do fairly well for about a year. He told me about some studies that found six months to be best. In my mind I'm saying no way will you see me in six months unless I start having excess pain again.
ETA: @bopper, I do see that if you click view the discussion, you have to go to auto saved to get your reply box back.

Hi everyone. MickD, ugh, glad you're feeling well enough to to get on the treadmill at least.
bopper, I've never seen that at the bottom before but guess I've never looked. Hope your back is better today, I have a crink in my neck from snatches.
Mssfoxxie, I see you're the lucky recipient of the highest winds in the country today. I have a gf that has bad knees too, started in high school. She just had her 3rd surgery, now she's training for a triathalon and she's older than I am.
DrKelli, you're talking my kind of work-out with the rowing and box-jumps...very similar to CrossFit. Box-jumps are one of my favorite exercises.
I hit the trails yesterday, did over 10 miles(4 on my own then met my gf for 6)...it was so beautiful out! Thunderstorms today but I need to get some cleaning done before we leave town tomorrow so today's a good day for it. Looks like we'll be driving in snow again, seems to be a pattern.
Helped my gf move furniture up and down 2-flights of stairs yesterday and build a new 6-ft cat condo for her kitties. She later sent me a photo of her cat sitting in the box it came in...typical...lol.
Tuesday I hit the weight-room, did the treadmill for a mile waiting for class to start, then did a hard class that I'm still sore from. Then hit the trails here in the afternoon for 6-miles.
Going to head out with Lucy in a bit then do my pilates and row. Heading to Pa tomorrow so will be MIA. Nomless, hope you and kitties are doing okay.

Happy dreary, rainy, windy Thursday, everybody. Ugh!! This is supposed to be an all day thing, too. Thursday is my husband's day to mentor at one of the schools and off he went this morning. Weather doesn't stop him. Plus he's good at honoring his commitments. And he loves it.
Now, me, weather will definitely change any plans I make. Today, though, I have swelling from my injections received yesterday, so I'll just hobble around the house. This is not unexpected.....the day after an injection might produce swelling and stiffness. The left knee feels ok but that's not the really bad one. It's that darn right knee. It always gets worse for a day or two afterwards.
@Iluvlucy, sounds like your friend with the bad knees is an athlete. Glad that her surgeries were successful. There are so many variables to having good outcomes with surgeries.
@bopper, do you wear a bad brace ever?
Just looked out the window....the trees have stopped swaying...good sign. High winds with heavy rain make me nervous. We have trees around our house. Last year we had to have one removed to the tune of $1000. Huge old tree. It had been struck twice by lightening and looked terrible.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Foxxie, I hope your knees feel better soon, that the injections reduce the pain. Hugs.
Lucy, I laughed when I read the kitty prefers the box to the tree. LOL. The tree will become a favorite place, too, no doubt. I have 3 trees about 4 feet high in my living room / dining area. They make the room look cluttered and they hinder the look of the room, but the cats enjoy them.
Bopper, take care of that back.
I was felled by a weird malady the past couple of days. I went to work Tues and did some shelving, but was I dizzy and broke out out on a sweat. Several times felt like I was going to faint so blood pressure must have been dropping. Gave it an hour but decided I couldn't do it and came home. Dizziness and a migraine-type aura bothered me until yesterday afternoon. I was a bit concerned because the symptoms were weird and neurological. Wondered if I was on the verge of a stroke. I started feeling better last night, and I think I feel ok today, so will see how things go today. Need to try do better nutrition-wise. Need more protein and veg, fewer carbs.

I forgot...bopper(and anyone else that likes Panera), did you see Panera Bread was sold for 7.5 BILLION?! It was bought by the owner of Keurig Green Mountain, Krispy Kreme, and Peet's coffee...company called JAB. I guess they beat out Starbuck's bid.
I'm wondering how it will affect them...if they'll change anything other than offer their tea and coffee. It's a good deal for the stockholders, hope they don't change the menu too much though.
Mssfoxxie...no, she wasn't an athlete, just had bad knees. Didn't become an athlete until much later in life. Her and her husband recently ran a marathon in Ireland, they travel ALL the time. But it is their "business". I don't let the weather stop me much either...my least favorite is super hot and humid but I still get out there. I enjoy nature too much to let it stop me.
**Edited...nomless, I just saw your post. Oh my, I sure hope you get that checked out if it continues. I have trouble with low blood-pressure...part of this disorder I have. Mine will drop really low and it isn't a pleasant feeling. I knew you'd laugh about the kitty!!! Take care!!

Hello everyone, We're very cold here today, but no snow in the forecast like in many places, so I'll be okay with this. I had my puffer coat on and a hat when I took Logan out.
I did Pilates and 2.5 miles on the treadmill and will go outside on the trail, I think. The wind makes me a little nervous in the woods though.
Foxxie I hope your knees feel better and how nice that your husband does that! Weather will effect my plans to some degree, not totally but sometimes yes it does.
Nomless I do wear a back brace sometimes yes. I think it's some better from going to the Chiropractor though so will continue the stretches and inversion table and ice. I don't let it stop me I just adjust accordingly. I hope you feel better, that has to have been kind of scary! I'm so sorry you felt like that
Lucy have fun in PA, and drive safely in the snow. It sure is weird weather and my Tigers have had 2 games already postponed in Chicago because of down pours and I think today's will be canceled too because of snow/rain mix. I love Panera as you know. I hope they don't change the menu either and I still wish we'd get one here, darn it! That's cute about the kitties. Sounds like toddlers and they would rather play inside a cardboard box than play with a new toy. As usual you are crushing your workouts.
MickD I hope you feel better, that sure can drain you and make you feel like crud! Take care of yourself as I know you will.
Was going to have my 89 year old dad for dinner but he has "plans" LOL He's cooking for his gf, so cute! He's busier than me ( that aint sayin much either
) Haha
Have a good one, stay safe in the weather!
