Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

WELL, it is very old here. I am so tired of it- right bopper? Heavy winds and cold yesterday. Today- ice on windshield, quick snow shower and freezing temps. Maine and Vermont have extended their ski seasons til end of May- in case anyone is interested!!!! Patty and nomless, good thoughts, prayers and more hugs to you both. No report today- had some stuff to do for work and had lunch with co-workers that are good friends. nomless are you doing exercises for your foot? We were talking about PF today - my friend said if she wears shoes with no good arch support, here's starts to act up. She uses the roller foam but says a water bottle can be substituted for rolling the foot. Hi future, Hi NoTan!!! See ya!!!!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Hi all, I did the TG today and a couple miles on the treadmill. Very cold here today and very windy. We only got to the mid 30's today and with the wind it felt a lot colder. It wasn't even warm enough to melt the snow we got yesterday. Very depressing.

Pppmint prayers for sure for DS. I hope the antibiotic works and he doesn't have to go back to the hospital. Very cool on the bird nest in the wreath. They sure can make nests in awkward places can't they?

Nomless cool project beading. I think if my eyes wouldn't drive me buggy I could do that but little things drive my eyes nuts even with readers.

Tony yes winter again, I am so sick of it! Never can put the boots and hats and heavy jackets away. Just when I think we are over it BAM!

Okay kids back to The Red Wings!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Hi, bopper and Tony. Tony, yes, I'm being careful to wear shoes with good support and adding arch inserts. Doing a lot of stretching throughout the day, and no weight bearing exercise for the past month. Foot still bothers me, but I'm grateful it's not as bad as some experience. I hope it heals completely at some point. Bopper, I have to go hide when I string the beads, else the dats would play with and eat the beads. LOL. I have all the supplies I need, hope I can get one necklace made this weekend. We'll see. I visted my friend tonight. She's sort of on the cusp....she's very weak, but she's not ready to die. They're providing enough care to maintain her, thank goodness. Now it's up to her body and God to determine if she can improve. I'm so grateful that they're providing some care to give her a chance.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Hope your foot gets better nomless...do the alphabet with your feet(pretend you're writing them) before you get out of bed each morning, as well as bringing your toes up towards your shin. That's what my pt had me do when my PF was so bad. They did the ice, heat, and ultra-sound too.

Did a kickboxing with jump-rope video this morning. It was something different....I enjoyed it well enough, got a little boring but so was the treadmill...lol. I did 1 mile on that and had to find something different.

Heading out for a quick run with Lucy now then have bible study. Fellowship Group tonight, dh flies back in late this afternoon.

DS's leg not doing well so I may be heading up there if they have to cut it open and irrigate it. I'm in a funk about that...big time. Trying to not let it get me down but he never seems to catch a break. I'm sure the stress from his illness has ages me 20 years and I'm not kidding. Constant state of uneasiness.

Anyway, hope everyone has a great day.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Happy Friday, another cold day . Woke up and it was 27 out and very frosty. I did 2 miles on the treadmill and then 2 outside later in the morning. Just layered and I was fine.

Pppmint so sorry DS's leg is not doing so well. I sure hope his antibiotic kicks in and he doesn't end up back at the hospital. I understand your uneasiness and worry!

Nomless I hope your necklace turns out. This sounds like a fun project to pass the time. Hoping your foot heals too. I should do those toe stretches too.

Missing a few folks, and waving to all!

45 min on the bike. Patty, I hope DS takes a turn for the better. I do a lot of stetching but will add in the alphabet. Thanks for the suggestion. Bopper, sorry it's still cold there. Duck update, the ducks quack back if you quack at them. I had quite a conversation with one of them today. Hard day at work, so TGIF!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Morning! Today is supposed to be a wash-out so I'm waiting for dh to get moving...we're going to go for a run, then hit the gym. Lucy ran so far yesterday! I had a couple of people roll down their car windows and say something about how fast she runs, asked how far she'll go, etc.

Haven't heard from ds yet this morning, he worked late last night. They're getting snow again so I'm happy about that, otherwise he'd be on his leg out planting stuff. We're only in the 40's and they said we won't get too much warmer, which I don't mind, it's the rain that will put a damper on things.

Bedsheets going and will finish my chores, then maybe go to a movie. We stayed home last night, dh was beat. It was 92* and 100% humidity while they were out diving and in the boats all day, two days worth of heat and sun is a lot when you're not used to it.

I walked a few miles with my gf yesterday afternoon in 30 to 40mph winds...we were laughing at how goofy we looked sometimes. I like her a lot, she's good people.

nomless and bopper....thank you. It's just a sit-and-wait game at this point. I showed my dermatologist(still having ear trouble so got another steroid shot in it) the picture of his leg yesterday. He said he'd give it another 24-hours, let the antibiotic kick in.

Hope everyone has a great weekend...and sees more sunshine than we are!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

It's a rainy day here, too Patty. Enjoy your down day. Hipe you find a light happy movie to ease your worries for a while. Biking done, some cleaning done. My friend died this morning, so I'm sad. Trying to find comfort that she doesn't have to keep on fighting the disease. I pray she has comfort and peace now.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Oh nomless, I'm so sorry! May she RIP. I know it's so darn hard for those of us left behind.

cater...once again, thank-you so much. Means the world to me. As of last night, it's the same. So, I guess it's just a wait and see for the antibiotics to work. I was hoping he'd see an improvement but I'm very impatient anyway. I also don't like stuff like this hanging over my head because it's all I can think about. He got irritated with me yesterday, I guess I just have to trust he knows how to proceed.

Raining but had Lucy out during a lull. Power was out this morning...we knew it was going to be out but they're still messing around with it.

I'll be thinking about you nomless.
