Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Nomless-I am so sorry. A big hug with thoughts and prayers. And I feel bad about your foot cos I know how determined you are to workout. Patty- a few downtime minutes? Naw, probably a 1/2 second! Bopper- more snow? That is crazy! All snow here was washed away with the heavy rain, thunder and lightning last night. Future- where are you? NoTan- did you get to eat out with friends? Cool and dreary week coming but that is Ok. No report- I worked the last 2 days and errands today. We'll see what tomorrow brings. Just smile!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Hi, Tony, thanks for the hugs and especially prayers for my friend and her family. I did the bike for 45 min. I decidec I didn't need being lazy adding to my sadness. Now will watch Shark Tank and Flip or Flop reruns this evening. Mindless TV. I hope you enjoed the thunderstorm last migt, Tony. Last week, we had a really nice one with rolling thunder, the kind that's nice to go to sleep to.

Oh, nomless, I'm so sorry to read this. Hugs and prayers to you my friend.

DH is in Key West so, yes tony, I have a little more laid-back schedule for the next 2 days.

Taking Lucy out for our 3-mile route then have CF. I was heading out and realized I hadn't fed her.{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes} phone...

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Hey all, we are back to January weather. In the 20's, snowing and blowing...grass is all white....but it will not defeat me! Went grocery shopping after I brought my GD to school and the roads were not good! Then came home and put it away, ate lunch and decided to brave the elements and walk outside and I did. The wind was brutal. I had proper clothing on and my forehead was still cold and it was covered up by a hat!

Nomless I am so sorry you are sad and your friend isn't doing well. Sending healing prayers and hugs. It's hard to know what to do, I understand.

Tony yes it's winter here again...I'm pretty tired of it since it started in November...I mean 6 months is enough!

Pppmint hoping you slept last night and DH is doing alright on his trip. Lucy must miss her daddy. Have fun at CF.

NoTan are you doing your Pound class or another workout. How are your parents doing?

Waving to all!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Thanks, Patty. Prayers are appreciated.

You forgot to feed Lucy?? LOL! Although...I bet she'd rather run than eat! Glad you remembered though.

Tonight I'm going with a friend to her church (a Christian church) where the Pastor is starting a series of discussions on Islam. It will mean missing my workout, but I think it will be worth my time. I'm very curious to hear what the Pastor has to say.

Oh, I did something fun. Last year a favorite bead necklace broke, so I got online and figured out how to restring it. Subsequently, I discovered a bead store where I found cool beads and made a few more necklaces. Sadly, the store is now going out of business. Everything is on sale, 30% off yesterday. I looked yesterday, but after I picked things I liked, the price was still steep. I couldn't decide what to get, so I didn't get anything. Today, I got email that everything is now 50% off, so over lunch I went back and got what I picked out yesterday along with a few more things. Awesome. It's fun to pick out beads for necklaces because I can choose colors I'd like to have for certain outfits.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Hey all...if you think of it and are a prayer, could you say one for my son? His leg is infected. It's just not a good situation when you're on AI suppressant drugs...and the antibiotics cause stomach issues as it is, let alone someone with UC or Crohn's. I'm trying to stay calm but my stomach flipped when he called me on the way to the doctor.

I just talked to him a little while ago, he got his antibiotic so will start that and see how the next couple of days go. He said it was snowing there too, crazy weather. We're having a wind storm...the neighbor said over 40mph gusts here along the water.

I forgot to mention, I have a bird's nest and eggs in the wreath on my front door! Now I can't use the door...lol. The eggs are pretty big and momma is tiny.

Anyway, I'm just out of sorts now but trying to stay positive. I didn't tell dh until he was finished diving so he could keep his mind on the op. They dove on an old shipwreck today so that was cool.

nomless....that sounds like a super interesting evening! You sound like me at the store, I did that at the nursery today, I got overwhelmed and ended up with only tomato plants.

bopper...Lucy does miss her daddy, but I think she's getting used to these short trips. Now if I were to leave, it would be a nightmare. My gf is begging to watch her when we go to Charleston and I just don't think I can do that to her...lol. I meant my gf but I'll worry about them both.

Patty, your son is in my prayers. I'm so sorry. How fun that you have a nest with eggs, but darn, what an inconvenient location momma bird chose.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Thanks nomless!! He just texted me on his lunchbreak, he said it's snowing and his leg is the same. He's trying to make me not worry.

Just mowed the grass, still need to clean it all up but needed a water break.

I ran this morning and felt pretty darn good...both endurance and speed, some days it's one or the other..or neither...lol. I also did a HIIT/Bootcamp work-out(part of it) with a group of guys...hahaha. They were at the sprint hill and talked me into joining them. Different circuits then hill-sprints, we did needle-threaders and I haven't done those in a long time. I'm still sore from yesterday's wod though so I felt my obliques on that one.

Almost wrecked my bike this morning trying to take a picture of a hawk. Lesson learned. Poor Lucy was bouncing all over the place in her little carrier...lol!

Anyway, I guess I'll go clean my mess up...not sure why, the wind will blow it all over the place again anyway. We had a lot of branches and stuff down....over 40mph yesterday.

Have a good day everyone!!! Waving!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Patty, dang, your poor son having to deal with snow along with everything else. Continued good thoughts and prayers for him. How cool that you dropped in on a bootcamp workout. Bet you had fun...and showed them a thing or two! Thank goodness Lucy was in her carrier when you saw the hawk.

I think after work I'm going to go see my friend who is ill, so no workout today. I'll check on her condition in a bit, then will decide.

I've been glancing at Brett and Kacy's facebook pages now and then. It sounds like Amer. Ninja Warrior tryouts have started....maybe even the competition, I can't tell for sure. Can't wait until it's back on the air.

Hi to Bopper and Tony and Notan and Future and Canine and all our friends.

It's almost Friday, hurray!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Tony!! Wildlife alert! I just went to the front entrance of the office. There are 3 male mallards napping in the sun on the concrete walk inches from the door. Each has his head are tucked back flat against its wing. I was planning on leaving in a few minutes, so I'll have to disturb them. Or, wait until they finish their naps. They are so lovely.
