Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Hi everyone, another sunny beautiful day here. It's 65! I HAVE to be outside when it's nice because winter was so long...so haven't done the TG in a few days, only here and there I jump on. Next week we are back in Winter, yes I said it. 40 and sleet/snow mix at least Mon-Wed....... so I'll be on it more then.

I did 4.5 miles walking this morning and just added on another 1/2 mile so 5 total. This morning I saw a turkey and we have a buffalo farm across the highway from us so I walked up this dirt road and saw those. Didn't have my camera or I would have taken a picture.

The trail I use in summer is a lot under water but I had my taller sloggers on and they work perfect for small pond/puddles haha..I felt like a little kid walking slowly through the puddle and looking at my feet {#emotions_dlg.lol}

Nomless no we don't have another vehicle yet. I had hubbies yesterday to shop and he borrowed my son's van that they weren't using yesterday. It worked out good though.

Pppmint how are you doing today. I hope the ear is healing and you can get back into a more normal routine. Did you do CF this morning?

NoTan do you know where to purchase the pound dvd's. I just wanted to see how much they cost.

Tony how is Spring arriving around you?

Waving to all!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Hi, Bopper, I'm thrilled that you've had some nice weather and have taken advantage of it. It must feel so great to be out in cool, fresh air. Make the most of it!

I bought another pair of PF arch supports, I'm not satisfied with the others. I'm getting tired of doing only bike, but I'm increasing resistance and that along with a lot more time on the bike is making my legs stronger, so that's good. Last night when I was trying to get to sleep, I was aware that my leg muscles were all tingly. It felt kind of good, but it was distracting and I couldn't get to sleep, LOL. I do miss the treadmill and elliptical -- I never thought I'd say that, but I do! It's boring to do only one thing, but my foot still isn't back to normal, so I need to baby it for now.

I'm a Cubs fan, and I'm disappointed that WGN-Chicago has become WGN America for the rest of the US and has dropped all sports programming. I loved when WGN carried all the Cubs games, and now they carry none. {#emotions_dlg.mad} Because I can't watch very many games, it's not cost effective for me to sign up for the MLB package on cable, so I won't be able to see very many Cubs games. Oh, well. Things change and not always for the better. Mets used to be on WOR (gone now) and Braves were on TBS (or something), and are not longer. I liked the "good old days" better!

OK....back to work. Have a great afternoon.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Hi All,

Got home after classes and grocery shopping yesterday and conked out before I had everything put away. My dear rotten tabby girl pummeled some fresh bakery rolls I left out. I should know better, wasn't thinking. She enjoyed herself and I'm at least thankful she didn't finish this excursion by pushing them off on the floor for the wookie dog like she did the last time a few months back. Gotta love 'em.

It's about time this nice weather pushed up and east to you Bopper! Hope it's not gone too long again this coming round. Supposed to drop back to normal here too in a couple days. Twenty degrees cooler will be a bit of a shock to the system. I should be out walking with the pupper but haven't been much yet. I did bring out his Frisbee's though, so I'm not totally worthless.

Let's see, been keeping up with Barre 3 pretty well. Sadie sneaks in yoga in one ten minute segment that I am finding to be enjoyable and worthwhile. Dropped that portion off the other night and found I wasn't as upbeat the next day without it. Good to know and glad I found an instructor I don't mind doing it with. Slacked off Core Fusion for the week and felt that in my arms and back the next day after adding it back in. Been remembering to add in pull ups when I have the barre out. Gotta get those triceps back in shape as it's painfully evident I let those get out of shape.

Tony, I had to laugh at your observation about Patty. Calm and uneventful, never. She's my hero. Hope everything is healing up for both of you, Patty and Nomless. I'm taking my mealtimes pretty seriously as well Nomless. My present addiction is spinach. There isn't too much it can't be added to.

NYwoman, I've heard say the best exercise is the one that you will do. Sounds good to me.

Everyone have a great day.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Bopper- I think spring is here! It's been 60's all week. i have been out walking - so nice! Still some snow- side of my driveway, in the woods and ponds still have a some ice.but it should be gone with the rainwater tonight. I hope your Tigers do well but not better than the Red Sox! Nomless- take care of that foot! I can't believe you won't be able to watch your Cubs. That does not seem right or fair! They deserve their turn just like the Red Sox did. I laughed picturing you talking to the duck. Did he talkback? You have had geese fly over you the wrong way and now you are hanging with ducks- some fowl connection going on! Canine- did you workout those triceps? Patty- can't imagine that you are not here cos you are napping, that's future's job! Notan- I had to look up Pound, I know I would smack someone in the head! My talent is klutziness! Hi to every other friend!!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Tony, what a great memory you have, recalling the geese flying the wrong way earlier this year, etc. I often remember stories but can't remember who told them. Yes, I talked to the duck; he answered a couple of times, then got quiet and just looked at me. It was a nice way to start the day.

It's going to be nearly 80 today, sandal weather. So I dug out my Birks and Orthoheels. I'm glad about that, as these probably will be better for my foot. I have on the Orhtoheels now, I think they're making my foot feel worse not better, but I can switch to Birks if necessary -- I brought them with me, too, just in case.

TGIF! Which reminds me....Future, are you there? I know you like happy Fridays, too. Miss your posts, hope all is well.

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Morning all, today I did the TG Core Cable Flow and then 3 miles outside. Ran into a neighbor walking her dog and she is a huge Q girl so we gabbed about 15 minutes. It's cooler today but not too bad but I was sweaty going out because of the gym and then talking to her I got cold but I picked the pace up when I started again so warmed up.

Nomless I have the exact same problem with the Detroit Lions games in the Fall. The station that used to carry them don't carry them anymore and being a Michigan gal I think that is just not right. They carry all Packer games but not Lion games. My hubby is livid about it. I am so glad I can watch my Tigers and my son. My son actually got us this device called a Roku you hook up to your TV and it allows you to watch all games at your convenience so I love that . I have had geese finally going over, so Spring must be partly here.

Canine glad to see you. I didn't take my pup walking with me because he isn't a good leash walker and it isn't any fun. He barks at everything so will take him later to the trail but need to wear my tall Slogger boots to get through the snow/water that is laying back there.

Pppmint it's finally Friday, how is the ear healing up. Did you go to CF this morning.

FUTURE missing you and hoping things are good for you.

Tony it's warmed up nicely but only for this week and then 40 next week and sleet. Oh well, at least we can appreciate this week! My Tigers are doing good. Glad that Kansas City lost, so we are ahead of them! Woo Hoo.........

Okay need to shower, and make lunch. Have a good rest of your day!

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Bopper, thanks for the hint about Roku. I checked it out....it looks like I would still need a subscription to MBLTV in order to watch the games I want, but maybe there's another way to do it. How do you watch the baseball games? (what network or channel)

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Hi Ladies! Cardio step class with weights for me this morning! Started with 4 people plus the instructor, and 3 others wandered in during class. I find it distracting. Anyone else have thoughts about latecomers?

Cooler and drizzly today, but clearing up and 70 tomorrow! Might have beachfront lunch with my college girlfriends to celebrate a birthday of one of them!

Bopper, here is the link for the pound DVDs http://www.poundfit.com/dvd/

Nomless, my friend did have fun in class, and she is as sore as I was after my first class! She's planning on coming again, so…SUCCESS!

Tony, I'm LOLing at the image of you whacking people with the sticks! (Not gonna lie, I've hit myself!)

Agreeing with Canine…the best exercise is the one that you will do!

Keep moving and keep smiling!

Have a great weekend everyone! xoxo

Re: Welcome to the April Exercise Check In

Hi All! Bopper- that's too bad about your baseball games. I haven't had the problem- that makes no sense. Where is your son this season? Nomless- sometimes I think wearing sandals is harder cos it seems you unconsciously tighten your foot to keep the sandal on. I can't wait to hear your next animal encounter! NoTan- enjoy your lunch! Good luck studying! A little rain today but a nice weekend coming. A little cool down next week but no snow! After watching the weather around the country today, I have today that for my record-setting winter- there were no major results- damage, deaths and destruction like elsewhere. Patty must be " napping" again today!
