I've tried melatonin, quonol (sp?) but it didn't work.  A friend suggested a diffuser with adding some lavendar oil to relax me and since that time, it has done wonders for my sleep.

I'd give it a try.

I've tried the Melatonin too.  It didn't work at all for me either.😔

I've wasted so much money on that cr*p!  Even the highest mg does nothing!  When I read the bottle, it's just sugar and carbs too!

@I am still oxox Sorry for your sleep issues, lack of sleep/good sleep in my opinion is not fun at all.

I have sleep apnea; before being diagnosed & using a cpap machine one of the things I was told is if your awake in bed not falling asleep/back to sleep for 10-15 minutes it's time to get up so read a book, watch tv, meditate until your sleepy again so your able to lay down & fall back to sleep.  If I'm awake for longer than that thinking why aren't I going back to sleep, etc etc then my mind is awake & I probably won't just go back to sleep.

Hoping you find what works for you.

There's always adult diapers.  Then you wouldn't have to get up to go potty.  Or, there's some other collection device I've seen ads for on TV.

@Icegoddess  Eww Eww eww just gross. Why would I ever want that. I am an adult not a senile senior or an infant and my husband would never stand for it. I am actually insulted by this comment

My bathroom run is what causes me to stay awake an hour too. I don't rely on medications to fall asleep, but if I work too hard, and have sore muscles, I'll take a Tylenol PM at bedtime.

I don't understand why an adult would go to bed and be sleeping by 9 pm, unless they had to get up at 5 am for work.

Try going to bed later when you are actually sleepy and be sure not to nod off during the day.

I go to bed when I am sleepy.  I am knocked out before my head hits the pillow.

If, for some reason, I go to bed early, I lay there for hours.

I try not to take drugs unless they are 100% necessary.  All these drugs cause liver and kidney problems.  It's not  good to self medicate.

@LizzieInSRQ  The amount of sleep @I am still oxox is getting each night sounds wonderful to me.  I would love to get 9 hours of sleep.  The only thing I see unusual is taking Valium and benedryl to go to sleep.  Perhaps 9 pm. is too early to go to bed.
