My cell phone is in the living room. I use a sleep mask to block out the light. Itss not falling asleep its getting back to sleep that is my issue. but thank you for the advice

From the CDC website:

Some habits that can improve your sleep health:

  • Be consistent. Go to bed at the same time each night and get up at the same time each morning, including on the weekends
  • Make sure your bedroom is quiet, dark, relaxing, and at a comfortable temperature
  • Remove electronic devices, such as TVs, computers, and smart phones, from the bedroom
  • Avoid large meals, caffeine, and alcohol before bedtime
  • Get some exercise. Being physically active during the day can help you fall asleep more easily at night.

You're getting 9 hours of sleep each night with the help of two drugs and getting up to go to the bathroom once.  I don't know what your expections are?

I guess you'll fall back asleep when you fall back asleep.  No sense watching the clock.  It sounds like you are getting a lot of sleep each night.

@I am still oxox   I totally understand your issue, I'm in the same boat sleep wise.  I typically wake at 1:30, 4:30 & 6:30 no mattter what I do. So people who have no issues sleeping just don't understand.

That may be related to taking Benadryl and Valium nightly.

Sleep issues seem to effect many people, myself included.

I've tried melatonin, quonol (sp?) but it didn't work.  A friend suggested a diffuser with adding some lavendar oil to relax me and since that time, it has done wonders for my sleep.

I'd give it a try.
