Re: Week 17 of the NFL Regular Season!!!

Thankfully the season is coming to an end for my NY Jets. It's probably going to be Rex Ryan's last game as the Jets coach. I like him and will miss him. I don't feel he is responsible for their 3-12 record.

Re: Week 17 of the NFL Regular Season!!!

I think Rex Ryan will be a pretty successful head coach someplace in the very near future. He's just had miserable talent to work with in NY. It's hard to remember the last time they had a reliable starting QB, and without a good QB you're not likely to win a lot.

Detroit goes to Green Bay. This should be a fun game to watch. Will Megatron be given a chance to shine, or will Rodgers steal the spotlight? I'm a firm believer that when you have a guy who's such a physical mismatch like Megatron or Dez Bryant, that you should throw them the ball twenty times a game and take your chances. More often than not they'll win those fights. I'm taking Green Bay however as the Lions don't generally do that.

.

Don't be giving advice to the Lions. I want them to lose badly. Also, why is every game this week a divisional one? We don't recall that ever happening before.

Re: Week 17 of the NFL Regular Season!!!

I'm quite sure that we'll see Rex Ryan somewhere in the NFL. If not head coach, he would make a good coordinator or other type of coach for another team.

I would get a kick out of seeing Atlanta go to the Superbowl. They still have to win this Sunday, but I think they will beat Carolina. If New England goes to the Superbowl and faces Atlanta, then loses to the Falcons, it would make my year! A Colts-Falcons match up would be interesting. I just hope it won't be Seattle there.

I'm happy that T.Y. Hilton was recognized for the Pro Bowl. He has added much to the team and had some outstanding plays. Of course, it's nice to see Luck and McAfee there as well as Vinatieri.

There is talk of Tony Romo for MVP. If the Cowboys go far in the playoffs, it might happen. Personally, I would choose J.J.Watt, even if the Texans aren't in the playoffs. It would be unconventional, but Watt has been of most value to his team.

Re: Week 17 of the NFL Regular Season!!!

And it's gameday!!! Everyone plays today, so it'll be a busy day. I've got the Eagles game up first. I'd like to see us win even if it cost us a draft slot or two. I believe we'll draft somewhere between 16 and 20 no matter what happens, so we won't move a lot. I'm hoping Bradley Fletcher has a good game today. He hasn't played nearly as badly as some would have you believe, but last week was a bad game for him. Against the Cowboys and Packers he faced two quarterbacks who made perfect passes. There's no defensive back in football who can defend a perfect pass. Last week he was clearly staggering though. DeSean Jackso is a guy you want to rough up at the line of scrimmage and Fletcher was up there, but then would back away instead of engaging him. You just can't do that. RGIII was anything but perfect in throwing the ball to Jackson (who literally had to circle under a couple of the passes) and had Fletcher been playing better he could have easily defended those, but last week was a bad week for him. I'd like to see him finish strong today. Fletcher Cox is a bit angry that he didn't make the Pro Bowl, so I expect to see him vent on the Giants offensive line to be sure he gets their vote next year. It should be an entertaining game.
