Re: WELCOME TO THE MARCH EXERCISE THREAD

[ Edited ]

@bopper ...yes, it's said breakfast is a good way to start the day, and morning exercises are said to increase metabolism by 10-15 percent.   You can try those 15 gram protein yogurts, or cheese.

As for myself,  I'm not one for breakfast, but ill eat anything if I'm very hungry,  usually by 9 or 10 a.m. on a few rare days I feel like that.   Otherwise, since I cook early, I try to wait for my main meal.   Hubby is diabetic, so im constantly cooking for him.  I don't eat, or like what he has...eggs, eggs, sausage, bacon...then early dinner by 1 or 2 pm...meat, steak, pork...you name it....I dont eat that.

So as for breakfast today...I made us both a Greek omelet...spinach, tomato, onion, feta cheese.  I had one of those LITE English muffins 🤢...his was regular (he can't hold weight) so he needs calorie packed meals.

Below is NOT the omelet...its a white pizza I made for dinner (just wanted to clarify)

So today I made a white pizza on Flatbread...I made a kale pesto....then topped that with ricotta, spinach,  mozzarella, fresh basil...all the seasonings and grated cheese.

Re: WELCOME TO THE MARCH EXERCISE THREAD

Good morning Y'all. I have been busy doing my spring cleaning and a lot of purging stuff. Very difficult to do with low back problems. I am very slow and careful. I work 15 minutes and take a 30 minute break. Doing all this now because I have eye appointment in April for evaluation for cataract surgery. Only for my right eye. I had my left eye operated on at the age of 4 and limited vision .

Trying to rearrange rooms and purge as much as possible . So much stuff that I no longer need or use. Not able to entertain and less visitors. I haven't been using my cubi  because worn out with my cleaning. I have about 4 boxes of old documents to shred. The worst project will be my closet. Not the best exercise but I'm moving.

Currently 41 and predicted sunshine for the day. So tired of cold and rain.  Enjoy your day.

@violet runner , I scheduled an appointment with the orthopedic March 31st, 😬.  I figured it'll take at least a month or several weeks to get in...but they called me right after I filled out info online, and this dr has an opening.   I requested him because he did my father's hip, and he was very good.   Just wanted to let you know  🙂

I've been out alot yesterday and today, and walking is becoming very uncomfortable...im limping.

Re: WELCOME TO THE MARCH EXERCISE THREAD

Hello there.   Hope everybody is doing well.  Thought I would stop by while I was online filling a prescription at Walgreens for the hubby.  Hardly ever on the computer when the weather is this beautiful ( mid 70s, light breeze, bright sun ) Smiley Happy

Have been doing my five mile Ellipse daily and love it so much would do more but don't want to overdo in case my legs might hurt in bed at night - that is no fun.  Also spending at least an hour a day doing yardwork - we keep about two acres of our land in lawn and flowerbeds so always something to do.

Take care and stay well, all.

Re: WELCOME TO THE MARCH EXERCISE THREAD

Hello, well we are back in the 20's.   Ughh

I did 2 miles on the treadmill today for active recovery day.

@Dazlin that pizza looks delish!  And the omlette sounds really good too.  I had yogurt this morning with my coffee, trying to eat more protein.

@minkbunny That's a lot of land to take care of.   Our soil is so sandy nothing seems to grow.   We really need to have the entire yard dug up and re-done and the $ isn't there for that.  I  plant in containers for now.

@violet runner I'm sorry you are limping, ughh.

I forgot what else was said today, sorry.

Have a good night!

Re: WELCOME TO THE MARCH EXERCISE THREAD

Good afternoon - well almost evening.  Did go on my walk today even though my knee has been bothering me today.  Not sure why.  Anyway, wanted to get a walk in since rain is expected tomorrow through Monday.  Think I'll go do some stretches and see if that helps my knee feel better.

Have a good evening!

Re: WELCOME TO THE MARCH EXERCISE THREAD

@Dazlin  Great you got in to the ortho doc so quick..  Will be interested in how the appt comes out.    Also a place you trust since the doc did your Dad's hip.

@bopper  not limping- thinking of someone else? Or maybe I miss typed..!  I actually got in 4 miles walking yesterday after going to the rec center..Ok- a stop inbetween at a coffee shop- but I did walk longer. Goal is 5 miles -   then concentrate on biking.. Yesterday would have been a good day to pedal.

Also @bopper - I too do container gardening. Mainly cause I live in a townhouse.

@minkbunny  you rock with your workouts and taking care of your land.. You are forever in motion!

Not much else- meeting a friend this morning, walking, coffee , and visiting a local small musuem.. A nice day ahead !
